So far Dan Craig is my least favorite Bond. He isn't suave enough.

I love Bond movies but I was a bit disappointed in Casino Royal. I think I would have loved the movie if it wasn't a Bond flick.

I miss the sarcastic humor that Sean Connery and Roger Moore had along with the goofy bad guys and crazy plots.

But he is one hell of a bad ass. I guess I like that part of Craig's portrayal of Bond.

Ya, you're probably right. Maybe I'm just not used to him yet.

I think Casino Royale is the best Bond movie since Connery left the series. You get to see how and why Bond becomes so cold blooded. Daniel Craig is a great Bond...so far...

Me too. But I dig Craig as Bond. I found it much more believable that the Daniel Craig could stand up to the bad guys...than say Roger Moore. I always felt that Roger Moore was more of a bed wetting mama's boy than a bad ass secret agent.

No way, 007 is a British agent, his persona is the epitomy of suaveness and sophistication. I think Craig needs to work on developing that side of Bond's character some more. If the writers want 007 to be like some badass American cowboy, they should write Vin Diesel into the script, he'd be perfect.

Nonetheless gentlemen, your input is most valued, now good day to you.

I believe that as the "new" Bond series progresses we will see James Bond becoming more suave and sophisticated. Remember, 'Casino Royale' is the first in the series of a "Bond reboot" and right now James Bond is a diamond in the rough that will become smoother and more polished with time.

Well put. Like I said, I'm probably just not used to Craig yet. Not that I don't think he's a fine actor.

Daniel Craig is the perfect Bond.

All the others may have been suave and sofisticated, but Craig is sticking to the Bond that Fleming envisaged, and I'd rather that any day.

I wouldn't be too sure that Craig is unpolished, but will be soon. This Bond is here to stay for atleast Quatum Of Solace and Bond 23. Maybe until Bond 25.

And he was as far away from an American Cowboy than one can get. if you're referring to his portrayal in Casino Royale; He was a cool, calm and collected customer. Very suave and very sophisticated, but he had a rough side which the bond series has been lacking for a long time.

I for one hope that this Bond is staying for a long while.

Hmmm, maybe I should watch Casino Royal again. Perhaps I'll be more aware of these qualities of Craig's portrayal.

I watched it again yesterday, and came to the realisation that if he is as strong in QoS as he was in CR, he will overtake Sean Connery.

I absolutely LOVE the last scene! It's a perfect ending.

Topping Connery will be tough. Also, you have to consider that the Connery Bond films are very much apart of their era. Action movies and spy films had a totally different feel in the 1960's. And Casino Royale is very much a product of its time. How do you adjust for that? confused13.gif

Title Shmitle, if it's half as good as Casino Royale I'll be happy.

I meant purely as Bond, nothing to do with how good the film is.

Qualities for a good actor will be the same regardless of the era.

You thought the sarcastic humour was missing?

Daniel Craig's Bond is the dryest and sarcastic so far. Note most of his dialogue with Eva Green, who was a perfect match for him, and the torture part with Le Chiffre. No Bond has ever been that sarcastic.

I concur wholeheartedly. I remember being somewhat disappointed in the Moore Bond films when his one liners never stacked up to Connery's. However, Craig's timing and delivery are pure genius.

I love Craig. I want his baby.

He was totally sarcastic when he was tied to that whicker chair. I think I may watch Casino Royale tonight. 1022.gif

When faced with losing his Genitals;

"I've got a little itch, down there...

You wouldn't mind?"

Roger Moore never came out with anything like that laugh.gif
