Film: Alien Vs. Predator, Director's Cut Castaway Since no one else has nit-picked your collection Jack, I will. But I'm only going to choose these 2. Alien Vs. Predator... It started out well with a good amount of sci-fi and action. Cool special effects, make-up, costumes. But it didn't end well with the 'team-up' and the 'branding' of the main character. That scene where that main character & one of e.t.'s are running together was one of the worst scenes in the whole thing. castaway... Don't know if you forgot to put the space in between but it's Cast Away not 'castaway' (a person that's shipwrecked of course). It's a clever title I think that many people don't realize. And it's a much deeper movie than Tom talking to a volleyball (which I'm sure you think too) . I like this movie a lot. That's it for now. I may come back later to rip into some of your other movies. P.S. Yeah, your collection is quite good with a bunch of quality flicks Well thank you, sir! How kind! Ok, ok, you can chalk up 'AVP' as a guilty pleasure! And yes, leaving out the space was a lapse on my part, Picky McPickerson.

JohnnyBlaze
QUOTE (Ru5h F@n @ Jan 19 2008, 04:04 PM) I bought "The Breakfast Club" today. Must've seen that movie a million times but it's still a good one to have even though I don't. It's probably the best of those John Hughes (or whatever his name is) films

Film: X Men 1, 2, and 3 Time to pick apart more movies of yours Jack. And they might as well be the XMEN trilogy XMEN 1: Singer played it safe in this one I think. But he did alright with it. However, I do think some of the characters were a bit off and more attention should've been focused on others...examples: Cyclops...he's THE X-MAN. I know Wolvie's the money-maker but if it's an X-Men movie then Cyke really should be the main dude. Sabretooth...nothing more than a dumb brute henchman in this and he's much much more than that. He's a conniving killer. XMEN 2: Excellent! Can't really think of many complaints here. This, Spider-Man 2 and Batman Begins are probably my favorite 3 superhero flicks (but not in that order). XMEN 3: Major letdown after part 2. Too many characters and too many deaths. And what a waste of Juggernaut and Colossus. Both of those heavyweights in the movie and they didn't throw one punch at each other! Sheesh. The use of Angel seemed kind of corny too. But I can say that there were some good action scenes kicking about at least Edited January 19, 2008 by JohnnyBlaze

But I can say that there were some good action scenes kicking about at least I have X-Men 1 & 2 because my wife was on a business trip in NYC. She brought her sister Jade along with her because Jade loves NY. They found out that Hugh Jackman was in town doing a show so Jade and my wife went over to the Virgin store and grabbed 2 of the the box sets of both movies (X-Men 3 hadn't been released yet). Then they went and hung out by the backstage door of the theater at midnight in 20 degree weather (yes I am fully aware of how blessed I am to have a wife like her) and when Hugh Jackman came out, she asked him to sign it and he did. Jade got her pic taken with him and had him sign her box set as well. I have 'X-Men 3' because I'm something of a completist and it was twelve dollars. No, my autographed box set of the first two movies is not for sale! Jade's might be, but I know her and she'll want a lot of money.

I know this is a horrible thing for a movie buff to say, but I really didn't care for 'Fargo'. I recognize it's a good story and everything but it just didn't engage me. I may watch it again the next time it's on cable, maybe it was the mood I was in when I saw it, I honestly don't remember because it's been so long. I had a big bookcase that I kept mine in, but even that wouldn't hold them when it got over 300. Now they're stacked in four columns that are all taller than me over in the corner of my bedroom. Luckily they're pretty stable or I'd be afraid of them collapsing and burying me alive. Mine are stored in the bottom three shelves of a large hutch. I have recently run out of room and am thinking of ordering one of those special armoires built just for DVD storage. Yeah, I definitely need one of those..... http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg214/stormtron/dvdssmall.jpg LOL, it's ridiculous.
