ladirushfan80 Posted April 18, 2008 Author Share Posted April 18, 2008 Thanks everyone for such kind words... she IS quite talented, 'eh? Yesterday was a CRAZY day... Had to be @ the High School @ 7:30 am for Hair and make-up before a 9:30 performance for the elementary & middle school students. What's referred to as a "teaser" performance, but for the ANNIE crew, it was just another dress rehearsal. Doing Annie's hair takes about an hour and two sets of hot rollers to get all that hair curled! Then, the kids took a break for lunch at 11:30... Then back up stairs to touch up hair and make-up for an afternoon teaser for the High School kids @ 1:30 pm. They ran the dress rehearsal all the way thru to the end. We didn't get out of there until 5:30/ 6pm last night. BTW... in the previous pictures... all of the city scene panels, and in Warbucks' mansion... all of that? THAT was what i have been working on over the last 3 weeks to complete in time for the play. Also Miss Hannigan's office as well. crazy Chaotica and "company" will get to see this all first hand saturday night... Today is opening night!! I will have more pictures and video soon. As I hear the "Ladies and gentlemen welcome to the theatre, in case of emergency......" announcement, I forget every word and song I'm supposed to be performing while simultaneously developing a strong urge to visit the little room. Then, walk on stage and somehow it all floods back and the roller cosaster ride begins. Magic.........and it still is 28 years after my first principle role. But all of the pictures I've taken with my camera, have been without the flash. There's a setting on my camera that allows you to take pics in low light settings, so depending on your camera, yeah, you can probably get away with it. It was a very enjoyable evening, without a doubt. I heard from A LOT of people that she was perfect for this role. Lots of people came up to her to congratulate her. One kid comes up to her and says: "I don't know who you are, but you were great tonite..." I got a lot of congrats, as well... I mean, thanks, but I didn't do anything, 'eh? The one thing that absolutely made this evening was this little girl who sat right in front of us. She has seen the play production of ANNIE many many times, and she knows this play very well. She would sing along to all of the songs. During any number of scenes, this girl would say something and get the whole audience going. ( like "awwww" during a sad scene, and "I LOVE YOU ANNIE" when Annie was sitting by herself waiting for her "parents" ) She was very excited to meet 'Annie', and I'll post a pic of her when I get it. (it's on sheri's camera.) This girl was GREAT!!! I wish i could have her sit with me during ALL of the performances... AND... I barely cried at all last night!!! I guess after having watched this play 5 times has "cured" me of crying every time i see her perform... yeah right 'eh? I'll be a blubbering idiot again tonite I'm sure... The final show was AWESOME!!! here's a few last photos from this past weekend... That is when everyone parents & cast & crew, work to tear down the whole set. It took about 4 hours to do, and then we enjoyed some food along with presenting the awards for the "Mock election" that the kids do Oh hey GTGOB !!! I found a pic of Annie with our Bert Healy...
