Todays' successful concerts have become heavily dependent on stylistic visuals.

RUSH has mastered this craft and taken it to new levels over the course of there illustrious career.

What are your most memorable moments of previous RUSH tours in terms of lighting and visuals?

The visuals for Red Sector A really made me enjoy the song more. Never really liked it much before that.

By-Tor is a great vid!

I liked the huge satilite dishes they had on both ends of the stage on the Test For Echo tour....esp. DURING the song TfE, when there were lasers coming out from the dishes! Awesomeness. yes.gif

And I beleive that on the Hold Your Fire tour, at one point during the show, 3 HUGE red balls dropped from the ceiling, and onto the crowd..? Can anyone confirm that?

Ahh, yes- do you remember those eerie figures moving across the screen during that song? There's a bit about it here, including a little movie:

Those were red balloons, and they fell during In The Mood. I still miss that closing song....

Aaah yes - I remember now...they show the red balloons dropping on the crowd during the Lock & Key music video on the Chronicles DVD.

I really liked the videos that played during the R30 tour showing the band throughout the years. That brought back a lot of memories for me. I liked That Darn Dragon. They've had great lighting and lasers for a while. I also liked Count Floyd introducing The Weapon.

Derivative Inc. developed Touch Player/Mixer which is an awesome visual software program for concerts. They have the DNA helix Geddy helped design for the VT tour as a free download.

Checkout their website www.derivativeinc.com for cool articles on the VTtour. Excellent reading.

enjoy.

I will admit that I was on a little something for the Presto tour. I do remember a net-like curtain that came down in front of the band on one of the songs and lasers were shot through them giving it a 3-D look. I'm only 99% certain that this happened though tongue.gif

One moment from the Presto tour that stood out to me was the end of The Pass. Geddy singing "Don't turn your back and slam the door on me." His vocal reverb and Alex's last chord all shimmering to silence as the lasers shot out from behind the band, and likewise, shimmered to blackness. Awesome.
