I think you're probably right...... One listen to CoS ought to clarify things a bit. No one could have made a record like that being straight. Neil has made a few subtle references in his books and other articles he's written. I thought I'd read a quote from Geddy once who said that most other bands were all about sex, drugs, and rock'n roll, where as Rush were about books, drugs and rock'n roll. They all three appear bright-eyed and bushy-tailed on the MP studio footage, imho... Good thing they didn't have drug testing back when they started. There was a pic of Alex and Geddy hanging with Jeff Burrows and some others, and lets just say it sure looked like Al had a wicked bout of hayfever. If he wants to light up, he doesn't need to go behind a dumpster to do it. I think it's safe to say that there may be some limited employment of the evil leaf from time to time, but do they sit around getting stoned anymore? Nah. Perhaps his driver and/or security guard are annoyed by the smell? Or just don't wanna breathe marajuana smoke in an enclosed space while driving/guarding?
