EveryNerveAware
QUOTE (Midway Hawker @ Jul 19 2007, 01:01 PM) There's really no place close to the venue to get together. Last tour, we had a meet up at Thunder Valley Casino in Lincoln, CA. It was nice, they have a beautiful bar in the middle of the place called "the falls bar". We meet there around 4pm then headed to the venue around 6pm. It's about 15-20 minute drive to the venue from there. If anyone is interested then let me know. Just checked Google maps and it says the casino is 23 miles/35 minutes from the venue. Is Google overestimating and is 15-20 more accurate? Midway Hawker
Coming from Modesto, the Casino is a bit out of your way. When you hit Sacramento, you'd have to go east on I-80 up to hwy 65, then head north. If you go straight to the venue, you would just continue north on I-5 through Sacramento and then pick up 99 north to 70 north. As far as distance from Casino to venue, I may have under-estimated the time. I take the back roads and miss all the traffic. If you can get over to Pleasant Grove Rd and go north, it turns into Forth Mile Rd north, which leads right to the venue. You miss all the traffic coming in from hwys 65 and 70. I'll don't think I'll be there much later than 6pm. I like to get to the venue about an hour early so I'm not "RUSHED" getting to my seat.. We could change the meeting place to somewhere in North Sacramento if that would work better for everyone. But once you leave Sacramento going north to Marysville, there ain't nothin' out there. If others have thoughts then let me know.
Midway Hawker
You are right, it's closer to 30-35 minutes. That is the long route taking hwy 65. Take the back road and hit the venue from the south and it's even quicker (with very little traffic getting in).

Actually, the casino sounds great and would love to come by for at least one drink before the show. It will all depend on what time I get out of the office on Sat. afternoon. My seat is on the floor in section 2, row 14. Sounds like you've been to this venue... how are those seats?

I was in section 3, row 15 for Vapor Trails (16 rows total on the floor) and then for R30 I was section 103 row 3. The 101-105 sections you are even with the stage, so your view of everything is a little better, and your just behind the floor section.. This tour I'll be in 104 row 5. Anything 101-105 and lower is great, very close, you can see every move the boys make..

Sounds like this venue is setup similar to the Tampa Amphitheatre. Orchestra sections up front are in a pit. I had VIP seating for the Tampa show, level 100 center-center right in front of the mixing boards. Great view but a ways back from the stage so you couldn't see facial expressions. Sure hope I can make it to the casino and meet up. Still haven't met anyone from the forum yet!
Midway Hawker
I'm not getting a ton of responce on the meet up thing.. If we don't get more folks interested, then we can just head for the venue and maybe meet up in the parking lot. We will see how the next week goes in this thread. Midway Hawker
I mentioned the Casino meet up at the beginning of this thread.. I was hoping for a bigger response, but meeting in the parking lot is fine with me. We still have a couple of weeks, so we'll see how it goes. My girlfriend and I are driving down from Seattle for this show. We liked it so much the first time, need to see it again! Thanks, Dan

Midway Hawker
Just go to the center of the casino (it's not very big), there is a bar there called the "Falls Bar" with water falls all around it. Very easy to find once you are inside. This is now the "official" meet up. Meet-up will be from about 3:30-6:00pm, then we should be heading over to the venue. Please check out this place on the map. Hwys 65 and 70 will be very BUSY getting to the venue, but there is a back way into the venue that is easy to get to from the Casino. Check it out on Google Maps or whatever and let me know if you need more details. We can even all leave together from the Casino and you can follow me if you want. If you want to exchange cell numbers then PM me. I already have Rushman14's number. Any other questions post them here or PM me.
Midway Hawker
BTW, Thunder Valley Casino has two VERY nice restaurants, a buffet, and a fast food court.. So there is plenty to eat for every budget if you are hungry. http://www.thundervalleyresort.com/
