OMG! That's snasty!

 

I got up early to finish the cleaning up the back yard. I knew I should be getting ready for church, but I hadda rake up olla dog poop and trash and weeds that I weed-ate? (weed-eated?) yesterday.

 

In the big trash barrel was the overstuffed trash bag from last month's cleaning frenzy. Heavier than I remember, I dragged it to the dumpster and tried to hoist it in. No chance.

 

I called Tyler, my 12 year old son to help me. We got it up to the edge and almost over when about a gallon of snasty-ass water poured out reeking like a dog shit stew. As Tyler ran away coughing and dry heaving, it occurred to me that the barrel had collected rain water from the roof during the monsoon two weeks ago. (This must be where olla flies and mosquitoes are coming from.)

 

"Come on, Tyler," I pleaded. "We almost had it. Most of the water should be gone now. Let's just get it over with." Begrudgingly, he returned. "On three. One...two...three!"

 

Over it went. The trash bag slid out of the barrel and splashed down into the dumpster on top of an empty plastic bag that had puddled the previous attempt and sent much of the water back out of the dumpster right into my face!

 

I knew I should've gone to church today.
