Kind of a nice looking bird eh?

Well it's a nasty thing angry.gif

These birds have like 9-10 babies and cannot feed them all.

So over time, they will ignore one chick for feeding and peck it, sometimes to death.

They will do this until they only have 2 or so chicks left.

You wouldn't think that nature did that, but godbless David Attenborough for teaching us about nature's good and bad.

I always thought they were cute kind of birds and they had those funky feet.

But then I saw one of David Attenborough's programs about birds and learned this.

 

I don't like these birds now angry.gif

 

 

 

 

 

 

On the other hand.....they have some f-ugly chicks unsure.gif

i have been trying to get a picture of this cool woodpecker that comes to my birdfeeder for i don't know how long.

i can hear him (or her ? confused13.gif ) when they are at the feeder cuz "it" always jabs its beak at the feeder, announcing its arrival.

 

so ANYWAY...

my daughter amber, got a couple pics of it.

it's thru my front window, if i even tried to get a shot of it by opening the front door, it would be gone in a flash.

so yeah.

Where the female cardinal is... the male will not be far behind. You either have to wait a bit, or look ahead of the female. He usually scouts out the area to see that it's safe, then he lets her know to join him. They are almost always together, or quite close nearby.

 

Great captures Amber. You should really look into the study of outdoor photography. yes.gif

Thanx you guys biggrin.gif and the woodpecker is cool cool.gif Like I posted previously here, any Cardinal pics. would be greatly appreciated as we do not have them here. They are my favorite bird new_thumbsupsmileyanim.gif with the exception of Owls biggrin.gif trink39.gif
