ladirushfan80 Posted May 27, 2008 Share Posted May 27, 2008 CARDINAL UPDATE !!! After a couple of weeks of watching momma cardinal hang out in the nest, we FINALLY have a baby! It was difficult to get pics of it tho, because momma is always sitting in the nest. but TODAY... i got it! here's a pic of the baby http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v415/amandaladi/flowers%20and%20nature/DSC05853.jpg I was lucky enough to get a pic of daddy visiting the nest today. he's very skittish, and the nest is literally right outside my bedroom window, so as soon as i show up with my camera, he usually bolts. but, the baby needed feeding, so he stuck around long enough to do so, and i got some pics... I have stray cats and racoons that hang out around my hood. I've avoided keeping any bird seed out right now in hopes it keeps those kind of animals away until the babies have grown and left the nest. with the window open, it sure gets LOUD in the early AM!
