Other than Allen Shore, which is more a middle song, none of these evoke much opinion from me. Some I don't like much, some are ok. An awful lot have that annoying Geddy singing choice I can't stand that he plasters all over VT and S&A 

 

So no real arguments from me.

Hope, by virtue of being an instrumental, is a bit low. But it's really just Alex, so it's hard to call it a real Rush song. 

 

Far Cry is easily the best song off S&A, although I can see cases made for Main Monkey or MalNar. So that's definitely low. You somehow found 10?! songs off S&A better than Far Cry?

 

One Little Victory suffers, like most of VT and Snakes, from Geddy's bad vocal presentation. It rocks very nicely, and is still a bit low here.

 

There's Totem supporter around here, but that's not me. I'm fine with Totem.

 

I honestly like where you differ, though. That's what makes this fun.

Not including Rush's "Feedback" cover's c.d., and album, they have nineteen studio c.ds, and albums of their original music, so they have a vast catalog of it on different topics, and subjects.  There is balancing it.  It's not easy to do.  For a top one hundred song, there can only be one.  Right now, without saying too much, I wanted to have some of Rush's instrumentals together, and separate, but not all eight together.  Mosher, since you were being honest, and not sarcastic, and whatever else on me being different, and not the same as some other people, then I do appreciate that.

When I say that I like when your list differs from mine, that is because that's when it's interesting.

 

I learn more when someone really disagrees with me, because their take is different than mine  I also enjoy when someone agrees with one of my unusual takes, because it's nice when someone understands what you're getting at.

 

These lists are boring if they're identical.

 

When I disagree with you it's never personal. These are just art works, what we like or dislike is more about ourselves than the artist.

 

My comments are in line with that. I assume most people that read this are more interested in the surprises than the typical. 

 

For example no one had anything to say when I rated Need Some Love low or Natural Science high. That's typical.

 

But people had things to say when I had Prime Mover top 5 and 2112 in the middle. Those are surprises 

 

So please post away! I am being serious when I say it's the rankings that surprise me that interest me.

On that note, 

You have High Water and Mal Nar way too low :)

I have Far Cry dozens upon dozens of spots higher than Half the World.

 

So, yes. For me it's much more interesting if someone disagrees than if we all say the same thing.

As anyone may've seen, and read a little earlier, I've made movements on my list.  The songs "Ceiling Unlimited", and "Ghost Rider" can change, and switch.  With "Halo Effect", and "Seven Cities of Gold", they are the same thing, too.  When I was making the list, I thought whether I should've kept "Clockwork Angels" as a whole, full concept, or divide the songs.  I divided, and separated the songs through it.  To add, and overall, I like "Clockwork Angels" even more, than "Vapor Trails (Remixed)", and "Snakes & Arrows".

So to comment on these:

Ghost Rider has continued to rise in my eyes steadily over the years, I have really grown to like that one. 
Ceiling I basically agree with you. 
Halo Effect, as a Clockwork song, is of course great. I certainly have BU2B2 below this, but I agree Halo Effect is near the bottom of Clockwork.
Seven Cities of Gold, though, is near the top of a very good album. I have Seven Cities FAR higher. 
Red Tide is about right. 
Finding My Way is a first album song not called Working Man, so it's much lower. 
Beneath, Between and Behind is just about the best off Fly by Night, competing with By Tor. So much much higher.

"Finding My Way" is a nice burst of basic rock, and should be higher! But "Beneath, Between, and Behind" is the real surprise here -- what a great track, almost punk-ish in its energy! Why so low?

See, I was also four when Rush came out, and I didn't work my way back to it until the mid-80s, but I loved it right away; it had energy, it had verve, it had heavy guitar chords. It nestled nicely in my listening rotation right between Bad Company and Thin Lizzy. I'd heard the tracks on ATWaS, but the rest of the album delivered, too. It's top half Rush for me.

You're either combining BU2B2 with Wish Them Well or forgetting about it I'm guessing? At first I thought maybe you didn't count it as a song at all, but you're still counting 12 songs on Clockwork. So maybe you are going to really surprise us with an a very high ranking there!

Regardless, I am fine with where you have BU2B. Good song, but a great album.

I have Carnies FAR higher.

Any of Rush's average, and or not above average songs are better, than some other band's, group's, and artist's songs.  When any of "the Twilight Zone" t.v. series was on, I wasn't a regular, and daily watcher of it, but I had seen some episodes.  I thought it was weird.  In 1983, there was a movie released based on Rod Serling's 1959-1964 t.v. series called "Twilight Zone: the Movie".  From the t.v. series, it was a little different.  I don't mind, and haven't minded the song, and I like how Geddy's voice sounds, and his singing.  The same thing as "Cinderella Man".  With the movie "Mr. Deeds Goes to Town", I've been familiar, heard, and know of it, too.  "Finding My Way", "What You're Doing", "Anthem", and "Beneath, Between" and Behind" are close, and similar to each other.  "Anthem", and "Lakeside Park" are, and have been meaningful, and important songs.

I have High Water much higher, although I know many people do not like it. I guess you see it as a more average song as Rush goes, which is fair. 
Red Lenses I have far lower. Sure the music is cool, but I just don't like how Geddy sings this at all. 
Emotion Detector, Twilight Zone, and Cinderella Man are all very good songs, but at this point your list should have only very good songs. We're in the middle section and for Rush that's still a very fine catalog of music. I have Twilight almost exactly the same, and Emotion and Cinderella around 20 spots higher. Close enough.

"BU2B" is a great heavy track, with a good lyrical message, and should be top half!  And while I'm on record as a Power Windows stan, I think "Emotion Detector" gets right to the heart of the matter, right where discovery starts. Too low, my friend!
