treeduck
I like Countdown but I can understand that some (many?) and maybe Rush themselves think/thought it was a bit too simple...or corny maybe? But I don't understand placing Losing it behind most of the songs on this album because, to me, it's a beautiful and unusual (for Rush) piece. Especially with the violin solo offering something different. It's top 4 for me.But each to his own and all that. It's like the Tears of Signals. That is my situation too but I think with Rush the case is that many either love Rush because of the lyrics Neil has provided or find the lyrics give them that little bit 'extra' over other bands. And when that standard is not adhered to consistently, they notice it.Strangely, I only notice 'bad' or unsatisfactory lyrics when I'm playing CDs/music I like to others, and then I cringe, but if I play it for my own enjoyment, then I don't notice or focus on it.
