It's weird that many TRFers don't consider this album a Rush album.

Despite the big Rush logo on the cover?

"Oh, that's not a Rush album."

"But it says right on it: 'Rush', in big pink letters."

"But it doesn't have the drummer on it."

"Yes it does. His name is John Rutsey. He does a good job."

"No, I mean the real drummer."

"But..."

"NO! This is not a real Rush album. I have spoken!"

("This is not a Rush album." - R. Magritte)

The real deal goes something like this...

"It's not Rush if it doesn't have Peart."

"Well, what about the first album with Rutsey?"

"They were just a copycat Led Zeppelin band."

"So they weren't Rush?"

"No. Not really. They were proto-Rush."

"But they were called RUSH. And Lee & Lifeson asked Peart to join RUSH. And Neil did JOIN RUSH. He was the NEW member of RUSH."

"But it really wasn't Rush before him even though they called the band that. Even though they were known as Rush. See what I'm saying?"

"No."

The End.

During 1974 a band called Rush were just a third-rate Led Zeppelin to me. If Peart did not join the band they would probably still be Zeppelin wannabes. I think Peart is a main reason why a band Rush changed the music direction and became a REAL RUSH with original sound!

Of course, Peart's influence is undeniable.

But your post here is an edited version of what I've seen countless times.

The unedited versions include: "It's not Rush without Peart" and "The debut album isn't real Rush."

Anyway, you should've made a poll. :P

Incredible song, full of raw emotion and moodiness, with a killer guitar solo and top notch vocal performance.

Don't you mean "In The Mood"iness?

No.

That's not what he means at all.

And stop that...we're not middle schoolers or Kevin Anderson. We can form sentences without using song titles. :poke:

Another uptight female on the Rush Forum! I was kidding! I will never change my style. You will always be an ALIEN to me! Take a hike and put me on IGNORE you small child.

Your comments were not appreciated however thank you for the coy, condescending compliment, comparing my childish wit to the intellect of Kevin Anderson.

Not a bad alliteration for a middle schooler.

No, thank you for the misogynistic, overreacting reply to my flippant, sarcastic, original post. I was kidding! Perhaps you are the one who should take a hike and put me on ignore if you can't read sarcasm. Jesus H. Christ, lighten up!

(fyi- being compared to Kevin Anderson isn't a compliment)

You have absolutely no idea about my history on here. I attack first and think later. I love taking hikes. You probably love the book "Hitchhikers Guide to The Galaxy. Nice college word there.

If I had a dime everyone on here labeled me a small child or a middle schooler I would be a millionaire.

Reading sarcasm or joking around behavior on a one dimensional soulless forum is tough to do some times.

Uh yeah, I know that Kevin Anderson comment wasn't a compliment.

Peace, brother.

FYI- I'm almost never not sarcastic on these forums. (how many negatives are that?)

Don't take me seriously, unless I'm serious. Seriously.

Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy is awesome. Douglas Adams was so much better than Kevin Anderson, and yet he's dead. There is truly no justice in this world*. :(

(not that I'm advocating for the death of Kevin Anderson, I'm not. Douglas Adams just died way to young. That's my point. I'm shutting up now.)

Kevin J. Anderson

co-author of Clockwork Angels the book

seriously bad sci-fi author who's novels read like the dialogue of middle school plays.

Just my opinion, of course.

But his stuff makes me cringe.

And yet he's famous and I'm not.

Go figure.

I really like it, but "love" is saved for Finding My Way, What You're Doing, In The Mood, Before And After and Working Man

Still, Here Again is a great song, just a notch down from some of the others - like 9 vs a 10

It's weird that many TRFers don't consider this album a Rush album.

Good song on a fun, enjoyable album.

It's not a Rush album because KEVIN J ANDERSON was not involved !!!!

He's a dangerous 2nd tier veteran player (has been as high as top 10 but currently ranked in the 30s) who can and has beat most of the big dogs. He hasn't and won't win any huge tennis titles but at least we can't rip his sci-fi writings. :P

On a side note, Kevin Anderson helped me win a pseudo tennis bet I had going with treeduck so yeah, all is for the best some will be rewarded.
