Just listen to the interplay between the musicians and the music speaks for itself. I am more of a fusion jazz fan per se. My go to is Jean Luc Ponty but I like Return to Forever and others from the late 70's and early 80's. Here is a video I found a couple of years ago of Jean Luc Ponty in concert.
