  1. Cool....kinda neat the way they did that... love Alex messing with the cameramen (and toking the whole song!)
  2. Time Stand Still Open Secrets Second Nature Prime Mover Mission Tai Shan High Water Roll The Bones Face Up The Big Wheel Heresy Dog Years Neurotica You Bet Your Life Guess I can't count
  3. Things have merit.... I don't have a problem with an old band releasing new material. One problem I DO have with DT (well besides the God-awful snare sound on the new album) is just the fact that they aren't the band I originally became a fan of, and they have replaced too many KEY players for me to take them seriously as DREAM THEATER. I'd probably respect them a little more since Portnoy (at least) left, if they would have just re-loaded, and changed the name. Ok..it's Petrucci's band... That said... going to see them, and hoping that their live version of this album makes me happy.... I remember on the old AOL music boards when ELP released a few new albums, as did Kansas, and Yes, people were just AMAZED that they actually had the audacity to DO that in this day and age! (not only that...when you went to see them live, they STILL played only the classic stuff, and MAYBE a new tune) Rush never disappointed when they had a new release...they played a decent amount of new stuff, and mixed up the old stuff..... I like CA, and SandA...wasn't a huge fan of VT, but it was a decent effort (and the redone version was better)
  4. Ok.....someone was posting stuff yesterday about Eddie's son quitting the band, and Tony Levin was taking over the rest of the tour (are they even touring?) Tony posted this today on his FB feed: Hmm, a web joke about me playing with Van Halen seems to have implied that it's true. I've just returned from a less exciting trip, a week in Cologne to work on my poetry book and some new lyrics. Since I'm supposed to be a poet now, let me address the issue in verse: Some folks have been e-mailin’ that I’m playing with Van Halen it’s amazing what a web based post can do. Guess there was a joke about it and though I’d rather live without it some folks actually believed it to be true. So let me set the record straight and leave no question for debate I won’t be in the Van Halen band or crew. And in a few days, when I’m ready I’ll send a short e-mail to Eddie: I’d like their bass man to be… Geddy, wouldn’t you?
  5. What's amazing is what 44 looked like years back! (and what 44 looks like now!)
  6. Bullshit I wasn't going to chime in tonight Lucas but really. What do you expect from a bunch of homer Rush Addicts And Narpets LOSERS! They love to suck that 21.12 inch cock on here every night. I love most on here but as far as the sucking of the Syrinx ass goes it really sucks ass. I can type this crap because I am one of the biggest Rush Tits on this fuckking fragile forum. KISS is one of the greatest bands in the world. Are you fuckking kidding me? I'm sorry that I don't jack off into Spock's Beard. I am sorry I don't say "YES" ever time someone wants to put their "Relayer" in my butt. Every time they come "Closer To The Edge!" I am sorry if I don't where glasses and look like a little pale skinny nerd and make love to the Steven Wilson sheep herd followers!!!!!! Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Ace Frehley, and Peter Criss are LEGENDS!!!!! Shame on you naive Rush Fanboi Fruits! You so called Rush fans who rip KISS have understanding to what when on. Are you KISS Haters 12 years old? Do you wear your Rush 2112 Starman Underoos over your big fat heads and eat Capt Crunch naked? You bois love your naked Starman. Your "Hemisphere's" bathroom alone time fodder. You love "Going For The One" Bois but you HATE KISS????? Hilarious!!!!! I would listen to all four KISS MEMBER 1978 SOLO ALBUMS OVER ANY OF THE CRAP THAT GEDDY AND ALEX PUT OUT!!!! The Ace Album is one of the greatest rock records ever made. Go pull your pud to VICTOR. How far will that get you? "WE NEED NEW PORNOS!!!!!" Signed, LES CLAYPOOL "My Favorite Headache" is this fuckingg thread. KISS FucKKinG RuLES!! YOU HATERS ARE FOOLS!!! Go listen to Nightwish or Laguna Coil or Blackmore's Night!!! KISS IS ONE OF THE GREATEST BANDS IN THE LAND!!! Even the overrated band RUSH uses PYRO!!!! THEY COPIED KISS!!! I would rather listen to "The Elder" 2112 times in a row than listen to "Suck My Clockwork Angels" once!! "The Wreckers" are you!!! YOU KISS HATERS!!! LOL!!! Don't wreck a good thing Rush fan. KISS members have made more money than you will ever see in your life. I get it. "Money for nothing, chicks for free. I'm in Dire Straits man, but I will be rich for the rest of my life......... Paul Stanley taught me to.... "MOVE ON!!!" "That's what she told me!" GHOST IS BETTER THAN RUSH. KISS IS BETTER THAN GHOST! LOL!!!! I love the freedom of speech. The freedom of type. "DON'T BELEVE THE HYPE!!" I am the modern day warrior. I am the modern era PUBLIC ENEMY!! I prefer the "Enema Of The State." Time for bed. I'm gonna BLINK 182 first. Earl i am kind of surprised you would say rhat but I will take uour comments with a grain of salt. I'm not a Rush fanboi and indont like most of the acts you mentioned but Kiss is just overrated. Sorry bud. Its all about the image. Just a theatrical stage prop to cover thenfact their music is largely mundane. We all saw what happened when they took off their makeup. Thud. Ace was the only jnteresting member of the band musically and when they lost him they lost their musical idenitiy. I don't think it's being a Rush or a prog fanboi...it's whether you like someone's stuff or not?!?! I know a lot of people that think Springsteen is the greatest musician that ever lived, but I think all his stuff sounds the same...but the man made his mark, you have to give him credit. Frank Zappa probably WAS the greatest musician that ever lived (during our lifetime) but he got like TWO tunes played on the radio over the years with any frequency! As far as Kiss.....their music is marginal, their talent it adequate, but they're marketing genius's!! The fact that Gene was doing the reality TV thing, and STILL looking to sell Kiss related merchandise PROVES that fact!
  7. Pretty much in the same boat.... Had a few friends BITD that were big Kiss fans, and I could never get into their stuff in any way, shape, or form. LOVED reading their interviews in Circus and Cream, but just couldn't appreciate their music. In fact, had a friend that worked for them during the Eric Carr years, and he gave me an advance copy of A Show of Hands on CD and video, and he knew I wasn't a fan by any stretch. But yeah...they gave them a good break, and you take what you're given!
  8. That was my thought, too! hahahaha!!! She's like "TOO MANY TCHATCKIE'S!" and I had to close the window.... My stereo stand is just to the left of that picture, and my computer desk is directly behind that. I have room on the top of my desk and on top of the stereo stand! Although my bathroom down here... (which she rarely uses) has all of my Rush "art" objects......I'd still be screwed if she saw those on the Mastercard bill...and walked into one of my "spaces" and found them! I should have just done the "order now/explain later" and not really worried about it! (but I save that for any new dive gear that she notices....which is a LOT more expensive!)
  9. Hah, my wife would probably kill me if I added one more thing to the shelves in our family room....I have mostly Penn State stuff, and books, but there are a few other things I've accumulated over the years, diving related stuff, old concert videos and documentaries (the ones on these shelves are what I DON'T have on DVD on another rack) A lot of the books I have are music related, In the bottom left corner is my new "Art of Rush" book, up on the top shelf is my R40 video set...and some other cool stuff.... The bobble heads were headed there...but I got the serious "hairy eyeball" when I was going to hit "order" http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v284/jaminbenb/2016-02-18%2017.07.47_zpshwkhx81p.jpg
  10. I just figured that since there's usually a lot of "symbolism" pertaining to the band, that the would have AT LEAST made it 40 shows! get it...R40.... ;)
  11. I thought it was a shame as well that they put so much into the production of this tour and then to only do 30 some shows? They were really kicking it and to have Neil pull the plug had to really hurt. They probably hoped that he would change his mind as the tour got underway. Maybe they didn't take Neil at his word. Do we really think that Neil, who hates touring, would change his mind about touring while going through the grind? Sounds real freaking naive. They knew it before the tour started. yeah because he never changed his mind before. never. not in 2007, not in 2010. NEVER. Exactly....unless we perceived Neil's position incorrectly. Maybe for those tours he KNEW there was going to be a second leg, and just went along with it...and this tour he was like "one leg, good bye!" But the way that the past tours HAVE gone, it seemed like there was the first set of dates, then a break, then the announcement of the second set, and we were happy about it. I know I've said this before, and I'm sure I'll say it again... Anything that they did after Vapor Trails came online, to me is just GRAVY that we weren't going to get! I honestly thought that after his "tragedies" that the band was done, and we were just going to have to deal with it.... we got like 15 good years we weren't getting.
  12. I'm sure he's getting annoyed about the "future of the band" questions, when he just wants to promote the live album... but I DO agree that the more these interviews go on, the more he's coming to terms that Neil is claiming he's done.... It almost seems from how some of the questions have been answered, that they go through this tour after tour as far as having a second leg, and I'd be willing to bet that this was the same situation, and by the end, they all thought "ok, let's do round two" and the call to whomever does the scheduling was around the corner, except Neil wasn't buying it, and said "No round two"....and it ended! I mean look at what went into the production that's all now stuck in some warehouse getting dusty (and someone's trying to figure out what to do with it) I thought that that there'd be a second leg, like usual...then some big blow out at Massey Hall (at $5,000.00 per ticket donated to charity) as the last live gig, and recorded for posterity (not to mention them selling a copy of their Caress of Steel tour show from there, when they played the whole album)
  13. They're already showing up on eBay. Which is dumb, because eBay transactions have to be complete within 30 days, and this won't ship til April. But people are greedy. Some guy on eBay is scarfing up every R40 Icon snare drum that shows up at retail the second any go online, and then reselling them at a $500 markup. And that's not even the fake stuff out there--badly forged autographs, etc. At least this time the rush mailing list got a heads up on this before or right when they put it on sale. I got an email early Saturday morning with it snuck in toward the bottom with no images, missed it, and found it in the online store Sunday. That's pathetic...the freaking greed anymore is just off the charts! I've been a huge advocate for making scalping illegal again! Although when it was "technically" illegal, people were getting away with selling a pack of matches for $500.00, but they come with a set of two Rush front row seats! I got seats for a Rose Bowl game a few years back, and when I found out I wasn't able to go, I put the tickets up on one of the sites (at MY cost since there were handling fees etc.) So I wasn't making anything at all (and possibly losing on shipping) The tickets were purchased, and then I was instructed to take them to a Fed Ex place with the "shipping" info he had me print off, and send them to an entirely different person. My wife went to see if she could see the second transaction, and the guy made like $50. per ticket! Maybe I just need to do THAT as a job!
  14. I wouldn't doubt that you see SEVERAL of them on E-Bay at a later date at a significantly higher price! When I said something to my wife about them (as a joke) she said "Well...if you can buy two, and sell one of them on E-bay for twice the price, I'd let you do it!" Then she said if I spent $1800.00 on line she'd kill me in my sleep!

    The Debut

Some of the versions on some of the bootlegs of that are awesome! They slow it down a little, and it feels a little more "bluesy" than on the first album...Great tune!
  16. My old car cd player (In my 89 Ford Probe..got it brand new, in 88, and pissed off everyone I knew because I had a CD player in my car!) only had issue with Roll the Bones! I'd get about mid-disc, and it would start skipping around... never had that issue with any other disc ,and it worked fine in my home player, and the portable I had at the time. Maybe the car just didn't like the disc (it never was one of my favorites)
  17. Wild.... I'm sure I did that back in my stoner days and didn't even notice it!
  18. I'd expect more stuff like that if they are in fact "defunct"... I just hope that we get more historical recordings! I don't know who decides these things, but if the individual members of Rush are involved, I am disappointed in them. I'd almost be willing to bet they get a stack of things to sign, then sign them, then send them back, and someone in an office makes those decisions.... I COULD be wrong, but....

  20. I'm glad this is not appealing to me in any way whatsoever, otherwise I'd have to buy it. Haha, yes, this exactly! Sure, it would be nice to have a set of photos signed by each of the guys. And for $100 (or maybe even $100 each if they were photos I liked and framed nicely) I'd probably buy them. But $900? Nope! I already informed my wife that I wouldn't be purchasing it... she told me that if I did, I'd be having them shipped to my new address! She doesn't mess around....
  21. That price is absurd. Ah well. Some will buy it. The prices on that kind of stuff at the BSC is always absurd. Definitely not meant for sale to the "common man". I'm just glad I was able to get one of my album covers signed a few years back....It's mine, it's personalized, and I don't need no stinking certificate of authenticity! The signatures look like the ones I've seen, (and already have) so that's good enough for me! (and all it cost was postage and packaging)
  22. Well it looks like the BS club is doing it again: https://www.rushbackstage.com/en-zz/rushbackstage/collectibles/rush-moving-pictures-signed-and-framed-limited-edition-photo-set.html?utm_source=rush&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=MovingPictures35 Get your pre-orders kids! I won't be, if I did I'm sure my marriage would be ending!
  23. I HAVE to agree with that! From anything with Sherinian, until Black Clouds, I was lost as a fan. It almost seemed like the band was trying too hard to find some sort of identity. Black Clouds reminded me of their TIME with Derek, and prior! I would buy each release HOPING that they'd get back to their basics, but they tried TOO hard to be something they're not! Portnoy has his "issues" and "fake/lazy fills" but he's the right guy for what they WERE trying to do! I honestly wish they'd give up the DT moniker, and change to something else. MP tried too hard to be who he wasn't with this band, it seems that his only GOOD stuff is with Transatlantic, and anything Neal Morse is involved with (since he's probably the producer, and a decent drummer in his own right...so he's dictating the play!) Mike's a GOOD drummer, just not a GREAT drummer! Mike Portnoy was the most interesting member of DT. Both as a musician and a personality. I enjoy the last three albums, but I don't own the last two and I am not really bothered if I ever do or not. Well the stuff I've heard with Mangini is ok at best.... I'm trying to like the new one, but that damn snare sound is grating on my brain! I'm hoping when I get to see them that they resolve that issue immensely! (do they serve cocktails at the Tower?) anyway... I know this sounds like I have an issue with the band, but anything with Rudess and forward just isn't the DT I grew to love! I know I've said this before, and some of you are probably sick of me talking about it...but I LOVE Rudess as a player..but NOT with DT! He plays his ass off...but his playing with these guys just doesn't excite me! I wish they'd get another key player (like Sherinian) and get Portnoy back.. some of those boots from that era were great, and I still LOVE them to this day! (hell even the "unplugged" shows are amongst my favorite recordings!)

  25. I openly had my iPhone out the whole time. No one said a thing. Wow, maybe they changed attitude! I was taking a picture of the Queen display, and someone in a HOF shirt said "no pictures allowed!"
