  1. I saw them in Philly last night and I couldn't disagree more. Alex and Neil were totally acting goofy and smiling. What a show it was. Can't wait for Newark tomorrow.
  2. I met him in 91 at The Ritz in NYC. It was the Buddy Rich Memorial Scholarship Concert. I was able to get in the venue in the afternoon. Saw all the soundchecks. Met all the drummers and got their autographs on a paper plate. Neil was the first one I approached. I didn't know that he didn't like people coming up to him. I was starstruck. I asked him to sign my shirt because I had nothing to autograph. He said he doesn't sign body parts. So I grabbed a paper plate from the buffet line and he signed Hello Chris - Neil Peart right in the middle. Also had a pic taken with him. He didn't act bothered, but wasn't terribly outgoing either. He sort of smiled. lol The other drummers were great. All more than happy to sign and talk a little. Great time.
  3. Yeah, that "solo" is a bad idea. I disagree. I think the solo fits in perfectly with the theme of the song. An electrical current is what I hear...very appropriate. Love the song. Gets cranked every time it comes on.
  4. Like my username says, I met him in 1991. I went to the Buddy Rich Memorial Concert at the Ritz in NYC. The guy I went with used to work for NFL Films and they happened to be filming the show. He wore his NFL Films t-shirt that day. We got there early and went around to the backdoor to see if we could see any of the musicians. A guy noticed my buddy's shirt and come over for a talk since he worked them. He ended up letting us in to the backstage area. We walked in during Neil's soundcheck. Since it was a big band show, the drumkits were toward the front of the stage. I walked around to the front and was literally looking up at Neil as he played just a few feet away. My jaw was on the floor. We got to see everyone's soundcheck. I met all the drummers and got their autos on a paper plate. Along with Neil, Will Calhoun, Steve Smith, Marvin Smith, Omar Hakim and Aton Fig (there just hanging out). Even got Buddy Rich's grandson, Nick, to sign the plate. I didn't know at the time that Neil wasn't comfortable with meeting fans. He was the first one I approached and asked him to sign my shirt, but he said he doesn't sign body parts. I ran and grabbed a plate from the buffet line and he signed it: Hello, Chris and then his name. I also got a pic with him. He wasn't a jerk, but also not overly friendly and that's fine. If I had known he didn't like being approached, I probably would not have done it. The other drummers were all very happy to speak with us and sign which was cool. Maybe I will scan the pic and plate to show you guys. Once in a lifetime kind of thing.
  5. So there are 3 variations to the setlist? Looks like we will get the same set in AC as we did in Philly last year. I was hoping to get Manhattan Project for my brother-in-law. Oh well. Can't wait!!!
  6. I got two tickets in the 15th row just off center on Alex's side for AC. There are only 30 rows on the floor. 5000 seat arena. Presale for AC is sold out and I'm sure the whole show will sell out since it's so small. Can't wait. It's going to feel very intimate.
  7. I just heard on WMMR in Philly that Rush will be in Atlantic City in May.
  8. Time Machine tour in July 2010, Camden, NJ. I had a ticket for MSG for last April but couldn't go because of back surgery.
  9. My goal was lower level for Philly and I got them. At the lower price point too!
  10. It was frustrating. The site crashed a couple times...had to refresh or go back, but I managed lower level for Philly which was my goal.
  11. QUOTE (Jomboni @ Jul 29 2010, 06:20 AM) These are small venues? The Camden show was the same venue they've played at every time they come around (in the summer at least) since the T4E tour. Actually, they played the Wachovia Center in South Philly on the S&A tour. It was in June, right before the official start of summer, but it was still hot. I'd rather see them inside. I like having air conditioning and the seating is better...more space and better viewing if you have seats on the sides.
