My issue isn't with it leaning commercial. It's that it produced a bad song and the only thing Spiritbox has done so far which I would consider to be shit.
-
From what I've gathered it was made for Lou Reed fans anyways. Still, one of the most nonsensical collabs of all time. Right there with Spiritbox collaborating with Megan The Stallion.
-
If it's as bad as everyone says it is then no it doesn't prove that.
-
Never heard it. But that was not their project. From what I can tell it was more Lou Reed than Metallica.
-
Metallica doesn't write with people outside of the band though.

I've heard five new albums so far this year. Bruce Dickinson - The Mandrake Project Judas Priest - Invincible Shield Witherfall - Sounds Of The Forgotten Unleash The Archers - Phantoma The Warning - Keep Me Fed I enjoy all of them very much.

It's different than everything else they've done. They're definitely being more experimental musically but also being more upfront and honest lyrically. You will probably dig it since they are taking some chances on this one.

Don't forget that The Warning's new album is out.

They are the MTV Push Artist for the month of July

It wasn't over work shopped though. The band said that since they were recording it between tour dates that they didn't have a lot of time to go over every little detail like they did with Error. So they just went with what they felt in the moment when recording and let it happen. I don't think the outside writers hurt them too much. The band wanted to do that to get out of their comfort zone. You can tell by listening to these songs that both musically and lyrically it's still very much the band who wrote them. The outside writers were probably the ones who suggested that they do new things on the album. Also, Anton Delost, the producer, said that the band wanted more distortion and effects but he had to tell them no and he had to scale some of that stuff back. There's enough experimentation on the album that I think it prevents it from sounding generic. The Warning as always brought everything they had to this and didn't half ass anything.

Yes, this is the first time they've swore in a song. Dany is signing backing vocals here too. So, they drop the F-bomb together as sisters which is really cute 😄 At first I wasn't sure about them getting on Wacken and some other metal festivals this summer because I wasn't sure if they quite fit or not. But this new album is heavy as hell and these new songs will fit perfectly at these more metal based festivals. This is also their most experimental album. Apologize is my current favorite. They almost lean prog rock on that song.

You know, maybe Cobain was a talented songwriter. He had to have something special for people to be in love with all his incoherent babbling he did in every song 😄

5 songs you wish you heard more often on the radio
J2112YYZ replied to tangy's topic in Music Of The Spheres
Here's the playlist for my local boomer station. The vast majority of these songs had already been played a thousand times over on it when I stopped listening to it 25 years ago. https://onlineradiobox.com/us/wgrf/playlist/ -

Yeah, my local classic rock station has never not played these songs to nauseum. -
They made the cover of Kerrang! magazine. https://www.kerrang.com/the-warning-keep-me-fed-daniela-pau-ale-villarreal-velez-mexico-rock-music-interview-cover-story

That's strange. I thought traditional FM rock radio played the same songs nationwide. -

Yes, you are right about the Head East song. The classic rock station used to play that one a lot too. I'm guessing it still does since their radio format never changes. -

Slow Ride and War Pigs are radio staples. Flying High Again was a big hit for Ozzy and has gotten regular play for years. -
Their guitarist Jake Dreyer played on Iced Earth's last album too. I think there's a huge Nevermore vibe to them as well. Their singer Joseph Michael has a lot in common with Warrel Dane vocally. Definitely check out their other albums. Everything they've done is high level. The album Prelude To Sorrow is a pretty dark and emotional one. Their original drummer died from cancer and most of the songs deal with that.

Space Age Love Song vs. Don't Change?
J2112YYZ replied to Texas King's topic in Music Of The Spheres
I've never heard that INXS song before. Anyways, when it comes to INXS songs Devil Inside rules, doesn't it? -
The name sounds familiar so I may have seen some of his reactions before. There's a section over on The Warning's Patreon where a few fans post every reaction possible to The Warning. Seriously, these couple of people really need some help 😄 so I probably have clicked on a few of his reactions before. My issue with music reactions is that I can only watch them in small doses. Even the good ones annoy the hell out of me when they pause and talk. EDIT: I do know this reactor. In fact he joined the Patreon a few weeks ago because of how impressed he was with The Warning's fan being so kind to him in his reactions. It took me seeing what he looked like to remember him.

They will be performing on Jimmy Kimmel on June 27th. This is their first ever appearance on a US late night show.
