  1. Nothing. I guess I'll finally hit up the local summer heavy metal festival.
  2. It's got nothing to do with having a thick skin, Mick; it's about a vocal minority acting as if not getting tickets is personal. I'm not particularly bothered by it any more than any other thread, but I can't sympathize with self-indulgent petulance. And just as there are people on this thread who are calling me out on any number of issues, so too will I call out other members on things I notice. I mean, it's a forum about a rock band, not a religious discussion. I can't speak for everyone, but there really is an issue with some of the shenanigans that venues are pulling this time around. Tickets for me are the same price as they have been in the last 3 tours but my venue is playing games like I've never seen before. They're quite clearly controlling what tickets are being funnelled into the system every few hours. 6 hours to sell out all out every seat except nosebleeds only to have tons of 100 level seats appear in the evening out of thin air? I expect there will be tons of floor seats again next week or when the tour actually gets promoted in the city. I feel it's something legitimately complaining about. Every concert I've been to likely controlled the flow of tickets to a degree but never anything so blatant. I agree that the seat release and the schedule is suspect, but it's a seller's market. We can complain about it all we want; the venue's job is to sell tickets to cover and exceed the cost of the show, overhead, and fees. However they go about legally doing that is up to them. Having said that, I'm not saying I don;t give a shit about those who are unlucky enough not to have scored any seats except distant 300-level ones. It's just, at this stage, it's too early in the game to go into histrionics. I feel for them though. If they just got something decent right off the bat then they could be on with their lives. If I didn't get 100 level tickets I'd probably be checking 3 times per day hoping I'd get some newly released tickets. It would drive me absolutely nuts trying to get my hands on a decent ticket to see my heroes on what might be their last tour.

  4. A friend of mine just texted me. Apparently they are putting tons of good tickets back in the system after nearly all 10, 000+ seats magically sold out in 6 hours to a concert that has had almost no publicity beyond a brief mention or two on the radio. Goddamn scalpers...goddamn venues in cahoots with the scalpers...
  5. Yeah. Tickets have been on sale for 3 hours in Montreal and there are virtually no seats left that are not nosebleeds (2nd floor is sold out, only single seats left on the 1st floor and floor floor). I refuse to believe they sold out this quickly. During the time machine tour there were plenty of good and decent seats for months and they only sold out the concert the day before. I'm glad I got the tickets I did, but this is insane. EDIT: 6 hours later, only 3rd floor and above remain. I really don't believe several thousand seats have been sold this quickly without any publicity whatsoever. I'll bet there will be tons of seats magically reappearing in stock in due time.
  6. As disheartening as it is, don't lose hope. This is just the presale. For all we know they barely gave tickets to the presale. I have to believe this... it must be true... how else would i not have seen a single set of 3 or 4 tickets?!
  7. I'm glad you did. Last tour I scored front row seats from the fan presale with a new ticket showing. This year... jeez it's the polar opposite. What happened?
  8. Montreal presale checking in.... I didn't get to see tickets that weren't nosebleed.
  9. whelp, that was a crap presale. I didn't even get to SEE any tickets.
  10. I just looked it up, and this will be the last time I ever google One Direction, and yes they are both the same night. Everybody is going to be downtown at once. Good luck finding a restaurant after 4 that isn't full. Make your reservations from now?
  11. Same. Looks like they're all on the same site. Good luck everyone!
  12. Did any of you guys get presale links for ANY canadian show? EDIT: RIAB has them now.
  13. Yeah... the Montreal presale also starts tomorrow and I haven't received an email. I'm pretty sure I'm subscribed on my main email address but just to be sure I subscribed on a secondary one a few days ago. As of yet I haven't received anything.
  14. Pegg knows his Trek. Hopefully he'll swap out his version of the script when Orci takes a coffee break and burn Orci's script.
  15. It's luck of the draw. The only thing for certain is don't let yourself get shafted with VIP seating. It's bad enough that you don't know what seat you're getting until the day of the concert. It's worse that you have to pay $400 for the ticket and at most $70 worth of stuff. Speaking of presales...when are the rush fanclub passowrds going out? The one for my venue is this week and no password yet.
  16. Come to Montreal and get something other than floor seats. During the time machine tour only the floor was standing by the time they got to Faithless. It was shocking how dead the audience was despite the show looking sold out.
  17. HEY DON'T TALK SHIT ABOUT ME Hey Nic, do you know what you need to do? You need to follow my example in this post and STOP TAKING yourself so SERIOUSLY. I mean, WHAT THE f**k MAN? When was the last time you LET LOOSE FOR AN ENTIRE MOVIE. You're Nic Cage, GIVE ME MY GODDAMN MEDICINE, PLEASE. http://i.imgur.com/neq3lwq.gif
  18. I don't think that it helps that a lot of Marvel comics from that era did follow that same general formula as well. If they're faithful to the comics and do an origin story the first movie will very similar in terms of events and plot devices. A ridiculous number of popular super heroes have dead/missing parents which drive the hero in some fashion.
  19. I read the first page of this thread and jumped to page 5 and some odd music started playing as I read the posts. ei nai nai nah ni no nai no nai You have entered the twilight zone. Beyond this world strange things are known. Use the key unlock the door, see what your fate might have in store.
  20. Anyone else watch these guys? They're film critics/youtubers. They're absolutely hilarious. They're reviews are actually quite in depth for a lot of movies (they're best known for their breakdown of the Star Wars Prequels).
  21. They're ending it? That's a shame. When we used to get the comedy network I'd watch the show every day. It was an excellent show that remained consistently funny. Here's one clip that has stuck with me for a long time. I think I originally saw this online.
  22. The trailer looks pretty mediocre, but give Marvel's track record so far with phase 1 and 2 I'll gladly give them the benefit of the doubt. As for those tired of Superhero Movies, there are plenty of other smaller films coming out which are original. Check out a local film festival -- those tend to have some awesome movies in them. Personally I'm tired of all the damn remakes and reboots, so I just don't go see them. At least Marvel goes for characters and properties that haven't been beaten to death on the big screen (yes I know it's because they don't have the rights to the big names but they're still pushing out new comics no one has heard of rather than make a billion iron man/captain america/hulk movies).
  23. Sadly it looks like that hack Roberto Orci is still writing it. Let's see what script his mad libs book will produce for the next Star Trek film. Since we have the director of Fast Five hopefully it will just be so over the top bad it will be funny.
  24. The reaction I got when my girlfriend finally figured out the combination to the puzzle pod I gave her for Christmas and opened the gift inside. :)
