  1. The moron who lives above me who insists on blasting his sh*tty brainless, repetative dance music all day long....why can't I ever get a Rush fan as my neighbour?!
  2. QUOTE (Slaine mac Roth @ Jul 3 2010, 10:16 AM) I was lucky enough to pick up a real bargain the other day - The Best of Ealing Studios Collection which features: Kind hearts and Coronets 1949 Passport to Pimlico 1949 The Lavender Hill Mob 1951 The Man in the White Suit 1951 The Ladykillers 1955 for any of you who have never heard of it, Ealing Studios is the oldest continuously working film studio in the world. In the 1940s and 50s, it became famous for a series of comedy films, of which the above 5 are among the best. What may be of interest to some people is the fact 4 of the above films feature a pre-Obi Wan Kenobi alec Guinness who displays a real flair for comedy - especially in Kind Hearts and Coronets where he plays eight different characters. Although dated and, dare I say, quaint to modern eyes, they're still worth a watch if you've never seen them and will raise more than the odd chuckle I have that boxset myself, they really are classic movies, Alec Guinness was great. I love how in Kind Hearts and Coronets Alec plays 8 different characters! I watched The Ladykillers the other day again too, brilliant! The 4 Artcards that come with the boxset are a nice touch also.
  3. QUOTE (LERXST69 @ Jul 2 2010, 07:39 PM) QUOTE (Docmilsap @ Jul 2 2010, 05:55 PM) Man......all the " this song in"..."that song out"..."this solo"..."that solo". Spare a thought for us Europeans....at least your gettin to see the band. I've never missed a UK tour, 1977 to the S&A's tour & it's killin me that they're touring & it will until a UK tour is announced. JUST ENJOY IT GUYS & GALS You can see them if you're from Europe, just do as I do and go to see them in Boston Lol I would, except there's the small issue of money...oh...and the fact that I'm currently banned from entering the US for the next 10 years thanks to my former husband...but that's another story...hey at least I'm still alive! There'll always be Canada! Yeah, I am so hyped up to see these guys, even though I'm not able to see them this year but I remain hopeful for next year. I'm originally from near Glasgow so i'm definitely thinking about making the trek back home to see them should the opperchancity arise.
  4. QUOTE (Hatchetaxe&saw @ Jul 1 2010, 10:37 AM)10. To the man who wondered why Ritchie Blackmore wasn't onstage, sir, go back under the rock you crawled out from. Indeed.
  5. Yep he's looking good, as is the new kit.
  6. Never mind, just clocked the Neil's Kit Spoiler thread. Yep, that's the pic I meant.
  7. I noticed over on facebook someone had posted a pic of Neil sitting behind what they said was the new Time Machine kit. I took it for granted that if it was on there then it'd have been posted here by now too. Anyone know the one i'm talking about ? (Feeling iffy about posting the pic...don't want to step on anyone's toes...FOH etc)
  8. Wow! Awesome pics, thanks SO much for sharing!
  9. I've been listening to Signals a lot recently myself, alternating between that and G under P. Personally I really enjoy Chemistry and would be more than happy to hear that or Losing it played live.
  10. Thankyou Mr. Arrowsmith for the very cool pics! Now that's a job i'd love to have! Thankyou Sundog and the Rush girls rock facebook lady too! Damn, I am so envious of all you cats that will get to see them this year! Have an awesome time! I really hope they can make it over to the UK next year.
  11. Lol, ok, I'll get me coat... No one watch this? Granted, I posted the topic the other day on a whim when I was drunk, on reflection, perhaps not the best idea!
  12. Yeah it'd be nice to be able to buy a few more Rush t shirts that are better fitting for us ladies (not pink ones either). Granted I can't even buy any from their website given that I don't have a credit card and am in the UK, but I'd definitely be willing to part with my cash for a nice Rush shirt.
  13. I thought this was a fantastic HBO series, and hope there'll be a season 3. Liked Gabriel Byrne's character a lot and especially enjoyed the scene's with 'Laura' on season 1. Anyone catch it?

  15. QUOTE (-HailNeilPeart- @ Jun 12 2010, 01:24 AM) Hey everybody! I recently got my name changed form LegoKid to -HailNeilPeart-. By the way, you should hail him too!(: Good on ya!
  16. I brought a bottle of The Macallan (just the 10 year old, mind) who's up for a wee dram with me? How 'bout some music?
  17. QUOTE (GhostGirl @ Jun 7 2010, 04:36 PM)http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v297/RushBabe/Neil/post-108-1081989115.jpg Because. Wha...?...http://i45.tinypic.com/zin4tt.gif Neil looked gorgeous in that black turtle neck sweater. A fine example being the R30 extras dvd, in the 1990 Artist of the Decade Interviews...could watch that over and over
  18. Anyone here a fan of Top Gear (BBC car review tv show)? I am Quite a big fan too of James May: (aka Captain Slow) http://i50.tinypic.com/2s929h0.jpg http://i48.tinypic.com/4r9pfo.jpg http://i50.tinypic.com/16kc01h.jpg http://i45.tinypic.com/5ewyli.jpg
  19. Apologies if this one's been posted before. Just made me giggle when I saw it. http://i47.tinypic.com/29px4zq.jpg Damn, that guy takes great pictures!!... And the photographer ain't bad either! <rimshot>
  20. QUOTE (liquidcrystalcompass @ May 12 2010, 06:30 PM) Brad Dupree: [reading Lester's job description] "My job consists of basically masking my contempt for the assholes in charge, and, at least once a day, retiring to the men's room so I can jerk off while I fantasize about a life that doesn't so closely resemble Hell." Well, you have absolutely no interest in saving yourself. Lester Burnham: Brad, for 14 years I've been a whore for the advertising industry. The only way I could save myself now is if I start firebombing Love American Beauty! Ok: Glengarry Glen Ross: (Fav movie of all time, whole script is worth memorising) Blake: We're adding a little something to this month's sales contest. As you all know, first prize is a Cadillac Eldorado. Anybody want to see second prize? Second prize is a set of steak knives. Third prize is you're fired. Lost in Translation: Bob: Can you keep a secret? I'm trying to organize a prison break. I'm looking for, like, an accomplice. We have to first get out of this bar, then the hotel, then the city, and then the country. Are you in or you out? Charlotte: I'm in. I'll go pack my stuff. Bob: I hope that you've had enough to drink. It's going to take courage. Bob: I was feeling tight in the shoulders and neck, so I called down and had a Shiatsu massage in my room... Charlotte: Mmh, that's nice! Bob: And the tightness has completely disappeared and been replaced by unbelievable pain. [Charlotte laughs] Heist: Jimmy: So, is he going to be cool? Pinky: My mofo is so cool, when he goes to bed, sheep count him. Fran Moore: Cute plan, though. Joe Moore: Cute as a Chinese baby.
  21. Anyone heard of a band called Amplifier? Haven't heard all their stuff but quite enjoyed the album Insider in particular a track called 'O Fortuna' there's definitely a Rush influence in there.
  22. Just got my first proper listen to the full tracks. Straight off I made an immediate connection with BU2B first (weird cos I thought by everyone elses description it'd be Caravan that'd get me first) - but i'm a sucker for pounding hard heavy riffs so that drew me in, very dark and delicious. Caravan I definitely like off the bat but it'll just take getting more familiar with it (I guess I'll just have to listen to it over...and over....and over....oh poor me ) I thought this was pretty dark too, and for some weird reason the images that came to mind whilst listening were of some evil Carnivale type scenario. I like that! Yeah, whatever's in the soup, I'll have some of that! It's gonna feel like forever waiting for the new album!
