  1. I love this band as much as I possibly can. They've changed my life in so many ways. They've given me more than I could ever ask for and as I see it, I owe them much more than they owe me. If Neil has had enough, and he/they choose to pack in, though I'll miss what they've given me, I'll remind myself how lucky I am to have something so special to miss.
  2. Isn't the DVD/Blu Ray being produced by Fadoo Productions, the same company that produced Clockwork Angels DVD?
  3. I have a feeling this second set is more in line with how Alex would like to have had Rush shows all along. agree 100%
  4. Funny you should mention section 109. That's where I was sitting. Most of the people in the section started off standing but a few songs into the show, some people sat down, which triggered a bit of a domino effect. It's the first Rush show I've been to in a long time where fan sat and it totally caught me off guard.
  5. I was disappointed to miss it that's for sure.... but am so curious to hear from those who were there how the crowd was, and how the band was, vs Wed's show.
  6. I was able to make it to Wednesday night's show, but not last night. How about you?
  7. For those who were at both shows, how would you compare Wednesday's vs. Friday's?.... not so much from the perspective of the set list, but more so from the bands performance and the crowd energy etc.
  8. this.... I saw them in Vegas on Clockwork Angels and the sound was absolutely incredible. I thought I read somewhere that the MGM arena was designed to have incredible sound. (perhaps per the request of an artist that played there as a house performer???)
  9. It doesn't look as though there are any electronic drums... hmmmm....
  10. I love seeing the band live, but I also love hearing new music from them. Given the choice, at this stage, I think I'd choose to have new material over another tour. Unfortunately, the economics of recording an album aren't financially sustainable and the current economic model dictates that touring is the only way to stay revenue positive. Back on point, one of the things I enjoy most about seeing them live, is the obvious genuine love that they have for each other. They really do seem like best friends. No thanks on a new vocalist.
  11. Wow.... seems like there's going to be a tour in '15. I'm pumped up! I can't see this level of detail coming out of the rumor mill, only to find that the band has no plans whatsoever to be in the market in 2015.....save for some drastic change in plans. I did notice though that ticketmaster has taken down the boston dates... someone must have jumped the gun.
  12. I definitely prefer watching their dvd's to listening to live cd's.... in fact, I'd say that's true of most bands... I prefer to watch their concerts than to listen to them...
  13. It's actually a quirky story... However, is anyone else finding the same problem here as I am? Keyboard works VERY slowly... when typing in the message box I'm in the chat room atm... (btw this took 3 mins to type
  14. Yeah, that's Big Al and I at a restaurant in Toronto. I was dining there with my wife and Lerxt was across the table from us. By far, he was the most gracious, kind and humble "celebrity" I'd ever spoken to... before or since.
  15. From what I've ready recently, there doesn't appear to be any consensus... So I'm not too optimistic. I'm just trying to be patient.... as difficult as it is to do so..
  16. Signals was my first time seeing them, and unfortunately, the show wasn't particularly memorable for me. Having listened non stop to Permanent Waves and Moving pictures for the previous few years, I felt that Signals was a bit of a letdown. What I remember most about that show was during Spirit of Radio, Ged sang, " One likes to believe in the freedom of.... baseball " .... I was pretty young at the time, and creative licence was kind of lost on me.
  17. Interesting topic.....and the second I read it, my first instinct was 2112. So I'll go with that. I also wonder what city it would be in....I'd guess Toronto, Pittsburgh or Cleveland?
  18. I'm sure I'm in the minority but I was a bit disappointed by it..... thought it went on a bit too long for my tastes.... to the point of being awkward for Ged and Neil..... I certainly wouldn't blame him (or anyone in the band) for wanting to make a point.... I just found Geddy's to be much more classy and to my liking.... But that's just me :)
  19. That is bloody hysterical!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait to see Lerxst's...
  20. 24 hours, and no word from either Ged or Alex? btw, Bubbles was the funniest of any I've seen to date...
  21. I've seen them there a few times, including Clockwork Angels. Great audience. And the sound was phenomenal...maybe the best I've ever heard at a Rush show. It'd get my vote, for the sound alone.
  22. I've been thinking about their upcoming schedule for a while now. I'm hoping 2015 still sees them on the road or at least in the studio. Given we're halfway through '14 and little to nothing concrete has been said about a '15 tour,or a return to the studio, I'm starting to wonder if 2015 is still in their plans....especially if Al has only mentioned it once and nothings been said from either Ged's or Neil's camp.....(unless I've missed some recent updates?)
  23. I'd agree with the audio comments.. at least several of the songs on the dvd sound substandard to me...I'm tired of being disappointed in sound quality of some of the recent releases, both on dvd and on cd. While some are worse than others, I'd be lying if I said this sort of thing can be easily excused after repeated audio mis-steps.
  24. I agree. And if not Broon, then anyone else who can deliver the kind of sound quality that I would have thought the band would demand. They're perfectionists in so many ways, and expect so much of themselves and their playing, why would they settle for any less when it came to how the final product sounds? I'm no engineer or producer, (co-incidently my brother is) but to my ears, this, and other recent work of their has sounded sub-standard, and I'd be lying if I said it didn't bother me. Here's hoping the trend doesn't continue, as it'd be a shame if it did. The band deserves better.
