  1. The current tour is heavy on the 80's, and there is very little material, other than the new album, that was recorded after 1989. So I wouldn't say you would be disappointed. They're playing a lot of classic 80's material this time around.
  2. Counterparts, a relationship based album? I wouldn't say so, unless you're talking about Nobody's Hero. Rush has always been about interpreting human relationships. This goes back to 2112, when they were debating the possibility of humanity ending music, which ended humanity. The only difference between Counterparts, and Test For Echo, is that Counterparts was rougher around the edges. Test For Echo also suffered lyrically.
  3. I just think it's so cool how that band is like a family. Rush will always be my favorite band, because all the members have such a good relationship with each other.
  4. I'm sorry that you had to go through that. Hearing damage is really a wakeup call, and not enough people protect their hearing (we protect everything else, why not our ears?) Musicians earplugs may be "uncool", but I'm at the age and the place where I just don't care. I'd rather have my hearing into my 70's and 80's and beyond. I wear musicians' earplugs to theater movies, for god sakes...I'm certainly going to wear them to a heavy metal concert.
  5. Sonically, Rush albums didn't have the kick or punch that Counterparts had, until Clockwork Angels came along. I'd argue that CA is the best Rush album since Counterparts, both in terms of music and lyrics, and in terms of mixing and sonic boom. Rush were just so cool back then, too. It's an era that I wish I had been a fan when it was going on, but I was 11 years old, and didn't discover Rush until 1999.
  6. We are the Knights who say Ni! *does the fish slapping dance*
  7. I love the new Steven Wilson album. It's everything The Incident wasn't, although I liked TI (just liked the 3 albums before it more.) I'm hoping they come off of hiatus, so I can see them live again. I'd love to see SW solo, but he's not coming down to Cincinnati...never has.
  8. Wait, is this the country dude? Country isn't all bad, but I'd say that it's pretty bad when a bunch of country fans beat each other up. I'd expect that of a Marilyn Manson concert.
  9. I'd say the new Sabbath counts as the best comeback, period.
  10. Yeah, I don't understand the love/hate division. It's a great album.
  11. Counterparts is my favorite 90's Rush album.
  12. Don't have any idea. It eludes me.

  14. I have nothing else to add, except I hope you feel better.
  15. I love Elton John, especially the classic stuff. Madmen Across The Water, Don't Shoot Me I'm Only The Piano Player, Captain Fantastic, and Yellow Brick Road, most of all. There's some later stuff that I enjoy as well. I don't think Elton has ever put out a bad album. Just weaker ones.
  16. Shoot me, I like Avril's music. I think she's a lot like Michelle Branch, in the way she sounds, and I like that sound. Nickelback just sucks, though. I am looking forward to Avril's new album, but if Nickelsuck wrote pieces of it, it's gonna suck.
  17. The new NIN is what I'm looking forward to. Recently, I've acquired these great albums: Black Sabbath - 13 The Goo Goo Dolls - Magnetic Jimmy Eat World - Damage Jermaine Jackson - I Wish You Love
  18. Yes, and now random people are trying to make a living from it.
  19. Do you know if anybody taped the show this time around? I'd love a copy of a bootleg.
  20. The end was really a fairytale ending. It wasn't really anything spectacular. Just something to make you feel good.
