  8. QUOTE (CygnusGal @ Oct 21 2012, 04:54 PM) And just because I can't resist... Time flies like an arrow. Fruit flies like a banana. Thank you Groucho. Thank you for that, just brilliant!
  9. Greetings Net Boys and Net Girls... I was having a conversation with a fellow Rush geek and the question was asked, what are your concert tradtions. I have been in the middle of a marathon of listening to all of their offical releases both studio and live in chronological order. Which is definitely a tradition I have leading up to any Rush concert day. Other Rush concert traditions... ...ah yes, very much so and here goes (don't laugh), *I take the day off from work no matter what. *Start the day (every day as a matter fact) with a bowl of porridge, a banana, 2 espressos, orange juice and me vitamins. *go for a hike or a long walk. *Long hot shower and get ready by listening to what ever the latest record is and a greatest hits record. *Get dressed, Levis 550s or 505s, a rock T Shirt (anything other than Rush) and my Frye boots (best for standing for long periods). *Meet up for dinner (lite fare) before the show, no more than two drinks and one shot of Jack Daniels which I take (and ask everyone else with me take) in honour of my sister, Patty, who sadly pased away and who was a huge Rush fan. *Bring two bottles of water to the show...must stay hydrated!!! *Go to venue, hit the souvenier stand first. (would hate for my favourite item to be sold out). *Rock out like I'm seventeen again. *After the show, drink a can of coke immediately when I get back to the car...helps calm the body after adrenaline rushes and gives you a caffeine buzz to drive home. *Home, shower and to bed straight away, I am pretty old, afterall. So, what are yours?
  10. QUOTE (PocketfullofSilver @ Oct 14 2012, 07:55 AM) Could be worse, my first concert ever in 1984 was Men At Work. Ive gotten better taste in music since then. Men at Work were actually a very talented group of musicians and Colin Hay is a brilliant songwriter. That first concert of yours is nothing to be ashamed of. They didn't get to be that famous by accident.

  15. Their music really hits me where I live and has helped me through so many aspects of my life. Why do get the feeling that this conversation is not occurring on an Anthrax or Megadeath forum?
  16. PS... ...thank you Presto-digitation! Brother, you need to hear the SHM version of this one!
  17. Took a few listens, but I like the new album. Sounds like, hmm, let me think now... ...oh yeah, like KISS. Their music is just fun, plain and simple. I was almost afraid to listen to it with all of the negative reviews coming in, but was pleasantly surprised. Another great album in 2012 from yet another one of my favourite bands from my growing up in the 70s...Van Halen / Rush / KISS Next up, next month...Aerosmith!!! Hell, after that we even get a live Led Zeppelin album...life is good!
