  1. Hard tix in the mail today from Ticketmaster Sec. ORC 1 row L Tampa (actual 8th row) Sec. 1 row H W. Palm (actual 6th row)
  2. I'd love to hear some Counterparts... in particular any of Cut To The Chase Stick it Out Cold Fire Double Agent Everyday Glory would make me
  3. QUOTE (EmotionDetector @ May 1 2010, 11:05 AM) I think those people have their facts wrong. From what I remember, this song wasn't played at all. The only songs played from VT were One Little Victory, Ceiling Unlimited, Ghost Rider, Secret Touch, and Earthshine. Yup.. that tour I went to ATL and W Palm and both nights they played OLV, Secret Touch, and Earthshine. Ceiling Unlimited switched with Ghost Rider for the 4th VT song of the set.
  4. Like SHF Stranger, Tampa and W Palm Beach. 3rd time at each... Tampa '04 and '07, W Palm '02 (my first Rush show) and '07. Let's see if I can finally get out of the Ford Amphitheatre without getting my stupid ass lost
  5. I'd like it...even better would would be if they brought back "Earthshine". Also agree with those who want "Vapor Trail" and "Nocturne"... those would be sweet too!
  6. QUOTE (Some Half-Forgotten Stranger @ Apr 27 2010, 04:09 PM) I'm sec. 1 row f seat 9 for West Palm...how bout you PRR? Right behind you... sec. 1, row H, seat 13. Look for the 4-eyed, long-haired dork who's in obvious denial of his approaching middle age
  7. QUOTE (theguyincygnusx1 @ Apr 27 2010, 03:53 PM) Leave Between the Wheels in! That would be even better
  8. QUOTE (Digital_Man @ Apr 27 2010, 03:47 PM) What seats did you score? After all fees and shipping the Tampa tickets were $114 a piece. I ended up with Sec 7 row E seats 14 - 17. Looks like Geddy's side about 24 rows back.. You're gonna hate me... 8th row Alex's side in Tampa for $117 total, 6th row Geddy's side W Palm for $143 total (did I say Ouch?) I think it helps that I only needed 1 ticket... slip in between the blocks of 2 and 4 that most people get. Although that didn't work in '07, when I still wound up about 40 rows back in Tampa.
  9. QUOTE (losingit2k @ Apr 27 2010, 10:01 AM) QUOTE (Some Half-Forgotten Stranger @ Apr 27 2010, 09:52 AM) QUOTE (losingit2k @ Apr 27 2010, 09:49 AM) The same thing happened to me in West Palm. But what I did is went back in afterward and the P1 tickets showed up. Then I called the main office and they exchanged them and canceled the previous order.but you need to do it over the phone! I went through Citibank and got 4th row Geddy side for West Palm!!! First shot!! 4 row Geddy side? Awesome! You need a date? lol Also went through Citibank... 6th row Geddy side in W Palm and 8th row Alex side in Tampa (see thread bitching about the W Palm prices )
  10. The Big Money . Great song to get the show started with a bang yet not one of the megahits. SOR works better later in the set so it can make the crowd explode 2 hours in
  11. I would love to see Anthem Bastille Day Show Don't Tell
  12. My turn to get killed, but for those that suggested inserting "Afterimage", that is the one song on GUP that I always skip. Hearing it live would have me calculating the percentage of my ticket price that just got wasted. The Body Electric would be awesome though
  13. Did the Citicard presale for Tampa and W Palm and while I can't complain about the seats, the price increase since 2007 for W Palm Beach is ridiculous. I'm not including the "facility fee" and "Convenience charge" that they tack on, I mean the original ticket price. Even Tampa went from $76 base price in '07 to $95 this year.. a 25% rise in 3 years, but since Orlando was $95 in '08, it didn't faze me. But West Palm Beach went from a face value of $72 in 2007 to (drumroll please) $119 this year... a 65% leap in 3 years Of course I paid up... good old supply and demand wins every time.... they demand everything in my wallet and I supply it
  14. A few I remember.. M*A*S*H I still check every day to see which eps Hallmark and TVLand are running. McCloud (man i miss A&E showing those reruns) Quincy One Day at a Time (had basically forgoptten this, but my cable system has some eps of this "on demand" and brought the memories back) Benson. TVLand showed a ton of eps a while back, and I was surprised this second time around how sorry I felt for Clayton. Man did he get abused. Still very funny, but I'd keep noticing spots where I'd say to myself, "Come on, he didn't deserve that." Kolchak: The Night Stalker CLASSIC!!! OK, I didn't see it until the 80's because I was about 4 when it originally ran, but there might not be another series ever that better mixed both genuine chills and comedy into the same show. Kolchak having to shoot a Miss Emily lookalike with a crossbow?? Priceless
  15. I love the absurd humor that the writers keep tossing into the plots. such as Crewes getting bonked by a book thrown by a trained monkey. And Damien Lewis carries it off prefectly. The only thing I don't like is the attempted love interest angle between Reese and the fat greaseball played by Donal Logue. 7 eps in and I still haven't bothered to remember his character's name yet.
  16. Another "tie" between Raiders and Last Crusade. "Dad!" "What?" "Dad!!" "What?!?" Scifi channel is running the trilogy Saturday Temple of Doom is still fun though... the gross-out dinner at the palace, the "you'll be back in 5 minutes" standoff, and this line from Short Round: "He's not nuts. He's CRAZY"
  17. Europe: Secret Society Thunder: Robert Johnson's Tombstone Next up will be the new Black Crowes CD.
  18. Since I enjoyed "The Prestige" a friend of mine told me I should see "The Illusionist". So i checked it out from the library. THE REST OF THIS POST IS ONE BIG SPOILER . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Well, I spent the first hour wading through overdone backstory (OK, we got it, they were childhood sweethearts broken up by the evil aristocracy, he disappears and comes back +/-20 years later as a magician... that could have been handled in 5 minutes instead of 20) and generally waiting for something to happen. So something finally happens... the girl gets killed. The next 40 minutes are quite good... and then blows it at the ending. Surprise! The girl isn't really dead, and the scheming aristocrat is perfectly framed and blows his head off to avoid humiliation. Plus they never explained how the wrong body was ID'd as the girl, and as policeman Paul Giamatti is gazing admiringly at a departing train I was thinking "Hey, remember the innocent goy you scapegoated and threw into prison for this murder that never actually happened? how about moving your ass back to Budapest and straightening that out?? Ed Norton , Rufus Sewell and Giamatti give good performances, but the screenplay let them down IMHO. I wasn't thrilled with the ending of The Prestige either (Identical twins? Really? Sometimes it's better to just let the "villain" win) , but I was far more entertained along the way and they at bothered to explain the ending . On a scale from 1-10, Illusionist gets a 6. Prestige gets an 8.
  19. I watch Psych... took me a couple of eps to "get it'.. then i loved the rest of the first season. The second season started off really well with "American Duos" (a savage dismembering of American Idol) and "65 Million Years Off", where a man is killed by a dinosaur. Then it IMHO really fell off for a while, but got it's stride back toward the end of this season. The season finale with the killer mummy was hysterical
  20. Bad movies i like? This could take an hour... or two... Equilibrium: I was trying to remember the name of this one just the other day... Thanks! Piranha. "Hey, lets rip off Jaws, but set it on a river with a young blond inexplicably jumping in the sack with our middle-aged drunk hero" Firehouse Dog. A "family film" with a Hollywood star dog getting lost, found by the son of the fire captain of an about to close station. Dog then saves several people and station. I should have been gagging, but there were just enough affectionate jabs at showbiz to keep me from clicking away. Warning Sign. Sheriff Sam Waterston helps fight rampaging zombies unleashed by an accident in a secret germ-warfare lab. Paparazzi. How can you not like them getting killed off? Necessary Roughness. Forget the Titans and screw Rudy... now this is college football! Psycho 4: Norman Bates discussing his past over the phone with a radio show.
  21. Well my least favorite is the much-praised Secret Touch. However, Out Of The Cradle is my 3rd least favorite on VT... I generally skip Secret Touch, Freeze, and Out Of The Cradle. Rest of VT though
  22. This is hard.. I like VT a LOT... I don't understand at all the people who slam it. I think VT gets ripped so much because even for a band that consciously changes its sound every album, VT sounds NOTHING like any other Rush album, and many fans tuned out on first listen because it wasn't what Rush, to them, was "supposed" to sound like. That said, S&A is even better. Every song has a hook in it somewhere that snags in your brain and won't let go. The lyrics are great, and I love Geddy and Alex even throwing a blues touch into Bravest Face and TWTWB. A year afterward, snippets of songs I thought I didn't even like now float through my brain at random intervals (Good News First is currently lodged in there).
  23. The movie I've watched more than any other... I've gone from VHS to DVD to Special Editon DVD... even have 2 "making of books on it... JAWS Rest In Peace Roy
  24. I heard this last night and felt like I got slugged in the chest . One of my all-time favorite actors. As well as the well-known stuff like Jaws, 2010, Blue Thunder, etc., please check out some of his other films: 52 Pick-up Last Embrace Cohen And Tate Somebody Has To Shoot The Picture Although if anything, a quintessesntial Roy Scheider moment IMHO came in "Marathon Man" Roy's stripped to his shorts and buff, doing push-ups, and there's a knock at the door. A scene with any other "star" actor, it would be a beautiful girl. Roy opens the door and gets an assassin with a garotte RIP Roy... I hope you're as happy now as watching your movies made me
