  1. I hate hearing that. Get pictures of it all. Especially the main studio. Curious as to how bad the newer "video" studio looks now too. Thanks for posting. I appreciate it. Welcome to TRF.
  2. Thanks everyone. I appreciate the thoughts. I had a good day working shooting rodeo.
  3. Maybe it might be a good time to discover one of the many other various types of media that music is distributed on. Including the free radio.
  4. There is no indication that he has cut ties or disassociated himself with Geddy and Alex. He hasn't done public appearances with them since the 2002 reunion (except rare things like Colbert and their own Hall of Fame induction), so him not going to the Yes thing at the Hall was nothing new. Plus, he doesn't live in the same city, or even country, as Alex and Geddy, so it's not like he can just drop in on them to say hi. You are assuming way too much. Good posting!
  5. I was listening to a cassette tape I made today and "The Camera Eye" was playing. My stereo is behind me so I turned around to turn up the volume a little and when I glanced at my cassette deck the counter read "2112". That made my day a little better.

    Best version yet?

Good video. The sound isn't to bad either. Sure does bring back memories. That's how they looked and sounded the first time I saw them. I particularly remember "Best I Can" because they opened with "Finding My Way" which I knew pretty well then played BIC which I never heard before because FBN hadn't been released yet.
  7. I got interested in LeStudio when I saw a picture in the Moving Pictures tour book that showed the sign in the background. Long before I ever saw the videos. I always thought it would be cool to go there. The "importance" of the studio is very subjective to who you ask. It is very important to me. Many iconic recordings were made there. I do agree that the crowd funding exercise is kind of silly and the best thing that could happen to the place is it being demolished. Especially after the recent vandalism. As far as "caring" about the place...everybody needs a hobby. Who am I to judge (or care) about how someone spends their spare time.

    Cygnus X-1 Vinyl

I asked myself the same question, and my answer was " because i can" But are they just the album tracks in a different package? The "different package" is why I bought it. Getting new Hugh Syme original album art on a Rush release doesn't happen very often any more.
  9. Yes for sure. How long ago did you visit? June of 2015 before all the destruction.
  10. My visit to LeStudio felt almost "spiritual". Standing in the same space where so much iconic music was created is an unreal feeling. Sharing it with my daughter made it even more special. I'm sure that any music lover would feel the the same way. Especially if your a Rush fan.
  11. Well, he is the new guy. ;) Seriously, you have to wonder how much they've reached out to him too. Exactly. The phone works both ways. In my opinion, I don't believe that they haven't talked, or texted, or emailed, etc.
  12. Chuck's You don't say? No fücking shït. Is this a recent pic? Is it from an old tour? If it's recent why is Elwood still being coddled by Mosbach. With all due respect, all you asked was where it was from.
  13. Whatever they release, I am sure that I'll be sucked right in and will buy the "super deluxe" version along with the poster and all. It happens every time. I just can't help it.
  14. I've liked "Hold Your Fire" the most for a while now
  15. I wear mine every time I go out unless "regular" dress code mandates something different.
  16. Reaching out to a fellow Rush fan
  17. RIP I got to see them a couple times. Always thought Peter Wolf was one of the best front men in rock.
  18. It was their last tour so I say leave it. Make it inactive if they ever tour again.
  19. 9/10 for me. Not only do I think it is a great song, they played it at the sound check I had the opportunity to attend so it brings back good memories.
  20. I couldn't imagine not listening to Rush for months. I listen to them daily. Some days more than others. I understand about the touring though. I had multiple opportunities to see the R40 tour fairly close to home. You didn't have any. So you haven't listened to Rush in months and consider them a dead band. You must be on TRF for the people! I also used to listen to Rush daily, but then I took a break because I got a bit (ok, a lot) angry because they did not come to Europe on their R40 Tour, and then I have been listening to them less and less. I hate that for you. Like I said, I couldn't imagine. But I kind of understand. I am twice as old as you and have been with them since the beginning.
  21. I don't think it's a money thing. Not at all. We all know that none of them really need it. I think it is an instinctive need they have to be creative and make music. They are artists. Many true artists just feel the need to create. Like I said, it's all that all three of them have ever known. It's what they do. As far as recording. Technology has made it so they don't have to be in the same room to create new music. They don't even have to be in the same country. All they need is a good broadband connection. Bands do it all the time now. Neil could create during the day and still pick Olivia up from school.
