  1. I'm a 22 year old female. First Rush concert I went to, I was 17 years old. I got quite a few looks. Second one, I was 20. The guys behind me were like wow you're really young and you know all the lyrics, that's really cool. Both concerts I've been offered beer lol... Such is the life of a female Rush fan.
  2. I wanted to clarify my point to say that I don't think Rush sounds like dinosaurs at all. But that's not what the younger generation will hear. I've heard it far too many times... "This is hard rock?"

  7. I jumped on at the young age of 15. New music isn't what drew me in. It was the oldies on the radio. I am now 22 years old. It doesn't matter if its new music. It's still from Rush. And it still sounds nothing like the hard rock and metal of today. My boyfriend is 23. He can't stand any sort of old rock and he doesn't like Rush's new stuff. The point is, they're not going to draw in many new fans who aren't already in to the rock of the 70s and 80s. They're not going to draw in the kids who are listening to what they are nowadays. Not saying that's bad. I listen to plenty of new rock. I'm saying it doesn't sound anything like Rush.

  9. when I actually buy my tickets I'll be much more relaxed. I can't stand the waiting.
  10. At first listen I probably wouldn't have because the song didn't really "hit me" so to speak. Now that I'm a few listens in, I'm in love with the song. It's hard to say. I can't imagine never knowing Rush.
  11. Grand Designs The Analog Kid I'd probably have a heartattack.
  12. How are people already sick of this song? I, personally, think its amazing, but I know a lot of people on this forum aren't as enthusiastic as I about new Rush music.
  13. I have to agree that the "Some days were dark" part is probably my least favorite part if I had to choose but I don't hate it. It's just not as good as everything else. Favorite parts? "I wish that I could live it all aaaaggggggggggggaaaaaaaiinnn!" "I have stoked the fires..." is also amazing. I am just loving the hell out of this song.
  14. I haven't listened to everything on Test for Echo. That's it. Well I also don't have all the live albums but I don't really count those.
  15. I've looked at the setlist the last two concerts I went to. Maybe I'll be able to hold off this time but I doubt it. In 2010 I made a playlist of all the songs on the setlist and I listened to it over and over and over and over and over. I'll probably end up doing something similar this year as I doubt very seriously I'll be able to hold out and not look at the setlist.
  16. I think people need to stop being so hung up on the idea of a full album in the set list. If it happens, it happens. While I think Clockwork Angels will be a fantastic album, playing the whole thing, either set, would be a mood killer. I understand its a concept album but it will also be a new album. You need some old classics to break it up and keep the momentum going. Of course this is all imo.
  17. MAY 7TH!!!!!!!! You can't come fast enough!
  18. Has anyone ever gotten tickets that good from Ticketmaster without doing the auction? I have a searing hatred for Ticketmaster. Wouldn't be surprised if it were MusicToday, though. Patience can pay off with some really sweet seats from there.
  19. Absolutely. Relatively hopeful that I can score some nice tix from the music today presale for Columbus. It's the waiting...man...the waiting. Can't take it.
  20. In 2010 I looked at presale tickets for a little while but was unable to afford them at the time. I managed to find 7th row tickets fairly quickly. I wasn't using any tricks. I was only on one computer. I'm hoping to have that kind of luck when I do the presales this year.
  21. QUOTE (Snaked @ Apr 24 2012, 12:16 PM) QUOTE (GeddyLeefan2112 @ Apr 24 2012, 01:04 PM) I hope this helps me when it comes time for the Columbus presale. I didn't get ideal tickets in 2010 because I was tight on money. That is not the case this year and I really hope I find good tickets because I would hate to get bad seats based on bad luck alone. The biggest trick is to learn one simple principle - "Don't Panic!" (thank you Douglas Adams). It sounds cheesy or downright arrogant but if you establish a REASONABLE range of where you want to sit you WILL find it as long as you're persistant. Maybe not on day 1 of presales - maybe not even in the first 4 weeks.... but eventually it'll happen as long as you check frequently and don't give up. I would like to sit in the first 10 rows and obviously I would like to sit on Geddy's side. Siiiigh. The waiting for the presale is killing me. I just want to get it over with. I have a feeling that I will spend most of my work day attempting to find the ideal tickets.
