RIP Mr Weathers. Great actor. Although he was a supporting role, for the majority, he still had the ability and skill to make a major memorable impact in the scenes he did have.

That Allan plays many different variations on Devil May Take, is mindblowing to me. Still wish he did a closer version to the original cut.

That's absolutely beautiful. Considering the place they were all in with Neil's predicament, AND the absolutely wonderful music they made with Counterparts. What a perfect encapsulation. I hope they made great memories with a few drinks : )

I think those who are involved in music it's creation I mean, will appreciate this clip, how it closely resembles the album version. It's a great song too, superb writing and arrangements. Sad to sound so disparagingly, but there are too many flaky fakers into flaky music, Taylor Swift etc.

Thanks for the response Paul. I'll never again do a song like this. It's just too hard to mix. There's so much at stake, as it's bare bones and all exposed. Trying to get the vocals and guitar to sound full, yet right as it's just them, was too much of a pain. I've done lots of other tracks with guitar layers that make the vocals easier to blend for me, that I'll release soon. More rock stuff and not as twee as this, which grates even for me. Cheers.

I think the official release doesn't attach itself to anything to be honest. Closest a Wing entry, I can't hear much relation apart from the obvious vocals. For me this is a biggie with this song, and part of its repeal. It sounds desolate, not relating to its audio history. The fan release captures a mood and sounds closer to the Beatles than anything else for me. Yes they were a catalyst for each other for sure. The greatest songwriting double.

Yes the official release you can clearly hear John's voice, the fan version it's buried. I kind of like that. With the official they omitted some of the words which doesn't help. I really don't know why they did this. I really like the fans version, how it's arranged. The solo, build up, orchestration. It sounds more like the Beatles, than the Beatles version. IMO
