  1. What a show! (The Happy Birthday Clowns were a nice touch!) I thought Geddy's voice was surprisingly mellow and smooth. Alex kept telling his technician, "Too Loud" during one song, but I don't remember which one. He seemed really distracted there for about 30 seconds.
  2. I've been many times, my cousin used to live there. There is too much to do for just a week! Take a helicopter trip on Kauai for sure. Go to the North Shore on Oahu. Spend at least a month on The Big Island!
  3. Have any of you ever had to accept an award? Were millions of people looking at you and analyzing every word you spoke? Did you receive an award after almost 40 years of backbreaking work in your field? No, I didn't think so! Until you are in the same shoes as Alex, SHUT UP.
  4. This is the EXACT injury I sustained in January! I slipped on a wet floor at work. My MRI showed that I had torn the MCL. The orthopedic doctor said that surgery might be necessary, but he wanted me to have physical therapy for awhile first. The good news is that I'm almost back to normal now and it doesn't look like surgery will be necessary. I did EVERYTHING they told me to do. Most importantly, keep ice on it for at least half an hour, two to three times a day. It's a hassle, but it works! And you'll have to do this for at least two months. The healing process is a long one. It's been three months since my accident and today is the first day I came to work without wearing my knee brace. Good luck!
  5. I was sitting there by myself in absolute silence at the beginning of the show. I was on the edge of my seat when the Inductees were being announced. Randy Newman, ........ After listening to most of the inductees, all it took for me was the word "Toronto" and I blasted out of my seat in total excitement. I screamed and clapped as loud and as hard as my body could. Was that wrong?
  6. I was very proud of my fellow Rush fans, (for the most part), during what seemed like an ENDLESS amount of time to wait for the Grand Finale! However... Yes, HOWEVER! I heard a small group of male voices coming from the upper balcony to the right who were being very disruptive and disrespectful during Quincy Jones's acceptance speech. They were yelling for him to get off the stage and then they chanted Rush, Rush, Rush. At that point, I was mortified for every Rush fan around the world who might be judged by this behavior. They started up again while Harry Belefonte was speaking! If we, as Rush fans, expect the music world to respect our band, how in the hell can we show such DISrespect to anyone else? And QUINCY JONES...for crying out loud? Yes, he rambled on for a long time and repeated himself for nearly half an hour. GUESS WHAT? He's f***ing EARNED his little bit of time on stage after a career such as his! I was happy to listen to the wisdom he wanted to share. The only thing I stressed about during his time on stage was the fact that poor Oprah had to stand there behind him like a statue in heels! She's magnificent. As for the hecklers, I heard some commotion going on behind me shortly thereafter by security people. I sincerely hope that the jerks up in the balcony who kept yelling for Rush were kicked to the curb. Fortunately, the people in the front who were sitting with the band DIDN'T hear it at all!
  7. He wouldn't have been able to do it without the teleprompter.
  8. I'll have to admit, I HAD to leave the auditorium for part of Public Enemy's performance...I just couldn't listen to another minute of it! There were TONS of people out in the lobby areas and in the restrooms doing the same thing. (Sort of like taking a snack and pee break during commercials).
  9. Only 49 hours to go! I can't wait, I can't wait, I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!
  10. I have a single ticket for the Induction Ceremony up for sale on ebay, (and on a couple of other ticket sites), but I'd rather sell it to a Rush fan! I bought it directly from Ticketmaster during the presale for American Express card holders. This seat is located on the floor, (Orchestra Level) in the 300 section, almost dead center, a little to Alex's side! It is in row FF, which is about two-thirds up from the front row. This is a great seat! I paid close to $800 for the ticket, but I'll let it go for $650. Please PM me before it sells to someone who doesn't give a rat's ass about Rush. We NEED all the Rush fans in that audience that we can get!
  11. Here is a link to a site that gives the set list for every concert, including last night's in Vegas! http://www.setlist.fm/search?query=rush
  12. My perfect living environment must have a Trader Joe's nearby.
  13. OK, I can now confirm that I am an addict. I can't stop watching your videos! The Gorge show was the best Rush show I've ever seen and you have definitely captured a good portion of it. Good heavens, look at the time! It's almost 4:00AM and I'm sitting here at my computer, watching Rush videos.
  14. Casey is free and poor Amanda Knox is still in prison. WOW.
  15. These are wonderful! Please post more, I can't get enough of them...it was such a spectacular show! (An additional bit of fun for me was.. finding myself in your videos!)
  16. Tomorrow night will be a blast!
  17. The first lady to get sticks tonight at the Ridgefield show was not someone who held up a sign of any kind or a license plate. But she was in the front row and was sincerely enjoying the show! She was very shocked by the sudden gift and had a dumbass look on her face for a few minutes. The second lady to get sticks was wearing a Bubba's shirt. Maybe you're on to something here, O'Malley's Beat! She was also in the front row. Anyhow, it was "Ladies Night" at the show tonight in Ridgefield!
  18. I just received an email from Ticketmaster for the Red Rocks show. They said that the person who purchased the ticket is the only one who can pick it up and must show photo ID along with the credit card that was used for the purchase. You should probably call the venue to find out for sure! (Gee, your wife should have bought two tickets and you could sell one to me!) Congrats on your 50th. I was also born in 1960.
  19. QUOTE (Prince of Tyrus @ May 4 2010, 04:04 PM) Today, in the TM pre-sale (VIP tickets) for San Antonio, I pulled Section F3, Row 1 (I'm guessing this is front row). Anyway I got them on the first try. The seat numbers should put me right in front of Geddy. And yes, I am extremely happy. That's wonderful! I LOVED the San Antonio venue when I was there last. The people in Texas were the nicest fans I ever met anywhere.
  20. I've been with "Breaking Bad" since the first episode two years ago and I tried to get a dialog going on CP. It didn't take! (Dumb f*cks!) Thanks for getting this going on TRF! Hank is on a roller-coaster ride right now, as far as his career is concerned. He's a Hero and a wanted man.
  21. One thing to consider about spending a lot of $$ on front row is that many venues ADD another row in front of the front row for contest winners, etc. Before you buy, make sure that your front row ticket is really in the front row! Otherwise, it's a real blow when you get to the show and realize that you're not going to be standing at the rail.
  22. QUOTE (peoplecanteatmachinefood @ Apr 29 2010, 12:20 PM) The auctions really are ridiculous, but I refuse to pay above face value for good tickets. I'll just go to the venue on the day of the show and try to upgrade. I actually have had very good luck doing that in the past! Several times I ended up in the first couple of rows when buying a ticket just hours before the show.
  23. QUOTE (Rushgirl @ Apr 29 2010, 04:25 AM) QUOTE (Patty @ Apr 29 2010, 03:18 AM) Why the defensive attitude? Which person on this thread called you RICH?' Lighten up, Bev. By the way, I'm not rich either. However, I have made some very good investments during the last few years and I just bought a new house! I bought the new house before the tour was in the works. So I will only be attending about 21 shows this summer because I now have lots of new bills. Patty I have gotten that comment before and YOU yourself have made some snide remarks my way on another board, so I will NOT lighten up! Especially when YOU tell me to! I am about as light as they come, as long as someone does not make assumptions about me. I NEVER made any remark about you on any board at any time.
