  1. Well, I went to the show this past Saturday night in Toronto. Needless to say...it was amazing. Thanks to all of you who mentioned how good it was and how I should definitely go. There was definitely no stretching the truth. It was quite the experience. I would've regretted not seeing it. Roger Waters can certainly still sing. Great job by him. I'm a huge David Gilmour fan, and wish he'd be part of this...but the guitar player did a fantastic job. I mean, the second solo on Comfortably Numb was one of the greatest solos I've ever witnessed live. Unreal. Highlights of the show for me: Comfortably Numb - again, one of the best solos I've ever seen live. Wow. Young Lust - I forgot how much this song f'n rocks Another Brick in The Wall (all 3) - always been a fan of these, but they sounded awesome live Hey You - one of my all-time favourite songs Run Like Hell - the videos in this one were really cool The production in general - hearing the helicopters / airplanes circling around my head, and watching the plane flying into the wall was beyond awesome... Overall, I'm so happy I went. I found it gave me a new found respect for the album. Over the years, I haven't found myself listening to it all that much, but watching this whole production really got me looking at this album in a different light. Just fantastic! I'm now joining the bandwagon of others stating that you need to watch this show live. It was worth every penny.

Sorry Dud, Its going to happen and you know what... Its still ! If you got a nickel for every time you guessed something correctly, you'd have the equivalent of a dime...or less. Yeah, but when you post like a million setlist ideas, you're bound to get one right, right?!
  3. QUOTE (losingit2k @ Jun 24 2012, 11:21 PM) QUOTE (micgtr71 @ Jun 24 2012, 08:57 PM) THey are Rush...not the Moody Blues. No strings! Please...no strings! Dude wishing for no strings isn't going to make them change their minds. They have already decided to tour with string, the only question is where and in what form? Why do you keep going back at those who simply don't want strings? It's no surprise that there are people who don't want to see it at all. This is a rock concert, and the trio kills it live. No need to clutter up the stage with more people. It's a valid opinion. If you really didn't want people picking that option...you should've just left it off this poll, right?
  4. Easy. Not the entire album to start. No need to see every part...to many other songs I'd rather hear. Also, it should be split into many parts and spread out. As much as I loved S&A, watching 5 in a row from the new album was way too much, no matter how good the songs. The setlist needs to flow better...

It has grown on me over the years. It remaiins firmly the pinnacle of my shit pile....As a matter of fact some other thread had me listen to Carve Away The Stone and it reinforced my opinion of it being the king of the shit pile heap. Well, Carve Away The Stone isn't exactly the best song to get your opinions of TFE from. I'm a fan of TFE, but Carve along with Colour of Right are my bottom two on that album. So much better material...clean your ears, and go listen to it again.
  7. QUOTE (crazygeo @ Jun 23 2012, 09:17 PM) has way more than 4 great songs, which I CAN'T say for Signals>......<C.A Ridiculous.
  8. QUOTE (GeddyRulz @ Jun 23 2012, 08:26 PM) QUOTE (EmotionDetector @ Jun 23 2012, 01:59 PM) The shit-talking against S&A didn't come until 1-2 years after the record was out. That's not my memory of what happened. Myself and several others here were "shit talking" about S&A from day one. Yes, but you guys are clearly 'musically challenged'.
  9. 3 votes for me?? Yikes...I guess no-one seems to remember the fact that I actually like every Rush song. There shall be no turncoat here!
  10. I'm optimistic about the record...certainly for me anyways. But if you're looking for people to turn on it, it's still too early really. The shit-talking against S&A didn't come until 1-2 years after the record was out. Give it time...I'm sure some will turn. NOT ME though.
  11. QUOTE (nappy2112 @ Jun 22 2012, 10:30 PM) It just amazes me why some people want Peter back in the band. I never liked him from the start, though he was decent in the early days 74-77 but after that . No kidding...and personally, same goes for Ace in my opinion. Both Tommy and Eric are fantastic players...and honestly, who gives a flying s**t whether or not they use the classic makeup?! The fact is, both these guys are reliable, and they are both fantastic players. Sonic Boom was one hell of an album...and I'm expecting 'Monster' to be in the same vein. People need to move on. KISS is doing just fine these days.

Well I know it will be longer than the recording, thats for sure! You know this for sure?? Well considering it would be hard to fade out like the album live it's safe to assume he will lol Oh, believe me...I hope he does kick into the solo that for some reason they thought was wise to fade out on the studio track. ED they faded out the song when Alex actually started the solo. Yeah, I'm pretty sure it will be longer than the recording, just because they can't faded it out live. I hope that facepalm is meant for Rush's decision to fade out the solo in the first place. Like I said, I hope Alex actually brings the solo out live. That's one of the first things I thought when I heard the song for the first time. BUT...nothing is ever a 'for sure' unless they state it. It's just as easy for them to simply finish the song with a final chord, while avoiding the solo altogether. But again...I'm hoping for the beautiful solo to close out the song.
  13. You're probably right. People saw that tourbook image with the dalmatian dog on it and jumped to conclusions right off the bat. I agree...and honestly, I don't care to see ANY album in full. I want a nice mix of everything. Please give us a nice variety of music from all eras and albums.

  15. QUOTE (apetersvt @ Jun 22 2012, 11:04 PM) QUOTE (BriGuy @ Jun 22 2012, 12:42 AM) Can't see how the first three can stack up against the last three overall, considering you've got CoS in there -- the album that nearly killed the band and produced the "Down the Tubes" tour. COS almost 'killed' the band because it wasn't commercially succesful. Agreed 100% BUT, being commercially succesful means that you are popular to the 'Rolling Stones' (magazine) of the world and means that you sell out. f**k THAT!!!! Rush HAS NEVER been about that. They have ALWAYS been true to themselves. COS rocked like nothing before. When the record company pushed back, did they give in and make some bullshit album. Hell no. They rode the momentum of an incredible album and made 2112!!! Another reason the COS tour wasn't a big success: prior to the album, they were typically an opening act. For many shows they headlined for the first time on the COS tour. Were they ready to sell out arenas/larger venues? Of course not. I know people around here probably don't understand my love for COS. I probably don't get it either. I just know that for me, it is such an honest hard rocking album (and METAL too) Don't worry...I definitely understand it. CoS is f'n amazing...and if people can't understand it, too damn bad. It f'n rocks people!
  16. Cool little two part interview with Geddy (from around the S&A period). I've never seen these before...he goes a lot into his basses and base playing. Even for a non-bass player, I found this pretty damn cool! Part 1: Part 2:
