  1. I doubt he'd be there just to soundcheck it. It was likely Ben Mink in sample-form.
  2. That's not entirely true. David Botrill is mixing the audio. Based on h is work with Rush so far, this is a good thing!
  3. I can see where the average person might find the solos kind of blah.... but the polyrhytmic stuff and playing over different ostenatos is really impressive, but not as flashy as playing 32nd notes all over the toms.
  4. Pete had a feed go through the whole show in Toronto, I think! He really let me down tonight.
  5. This one works. The next two in this thread are dead. Spoke too soon!
  6. Technically, they never were in Kansas on this tour...
  7. Well done! "They're too good to retire," but too tired to keep at this pace. I hope they take another good break, maybe release some new tunes, and find a way to play some shows throughout North America. Now that they seem comfortable with this tour, they are performing way too well and having too much fun to call it quits as long as their health is okay. .
  8. This won't help with Lorraine's dial-up, but a pitch-corrected studio version is on this page. https://sites.google.com/site/rushoddities/
  9. But only the studio version since it's recorded a tad fast and out of tune. :( The studio version of Xanadu is out of tune? They sped up it up post production to fit on the record side. :o Are you teasing me? I must have listened to who knows how many versions of the song how many times, and I've never noticed that. Nope, I'm not teasing. It was really annoying trying to play along with the song years ago because it's slightly sharp (higher) than the actual recorded key. You're the only person I know that has noticed that besides your truly. It befuddled me for a long time as well. I was always like WTF? I first noticed it long ago because Geddy sounded..... different. Then, trying to play along with it... it didn't work!
  10. But only the studio version since it's recorded a tad fast and out of tune. :( It's the 4th greatest song in the history of my universe thanks to the ESL version! :)

  12. There was also a cameraman filming the prop changes in the first set as well.
  13. There were probably four sections on each side of the upper bowl curtained off. Otherwise, it was packed as usual. I did see the LZ shirt a pass by while in my seat. Yeah, the Camera Eye solo was Alex's biggest flub now that I remember it.
  14. Superb as usual! My 4th show of the tour. First one since I saw 3 of the first 6 shows. They're so much more relaxed and making everything seem effortless. They all goofed off and interacted with the crowd. Alex talked to the dinosaurs on his amps during Subdivisions! When Geddy says WE'RE SO EXCITED TO BE HERE after WYD, Alex did a little happy dance and Geddy mentioned EVEN HE'S EXCITED TO BE HERE! Shocker of the night, Neil even did a little happy dance between the end of Working Man and the Garden Road teaser! Their playing was on fire. No major flubs. Geddy is the star of the show. Many thought his voice wouldn't hold up for this tour? Pfffft. He's just killing it now. Standouts were BTW with some awesome Alex soloing, Xanadu and 2112 Presentation with Geddy nailing some difficult vocals, and Working Man for the overall energy. I was 15 rows back on Alex's side. The crowd was super into the show from my vantage point. Nothing can top watching the Tulsa show unfold on opening night, but this show ranks way up there.
  15. He's playing the solo. It's tempo has varied throughout the tour, and he's hit a bum note before. Geddy is lazy with a lot of synth stuff on recent tours. At least he still properly plays Subdivisions I guess.
  16. That's not really how auto-tune works, but you can usually tell when someone is using it. The vocals don't sound natural. I know that. I'm going off how the OP said it sounded like his speaking voice sounded higher in Set 2, and interpreted as the mic having a setting where it shifted his pitch up say 1/4 of a step.
  17. If Geddy could correctly sing out of tune enough to make up for "correctively tweaking the pitch" while playing with in-tune instruments and samples, that would be the greatest feat ever.
  18. This list is from the Time Machine Tour. Pretty much the exact same stuff since 02. Tommy Overture - The Who School - Supertramp Hells Bells - Bruford Dancing With the Moonlit Knight - Genesis Aqualung - Jethro Tull I Ain't Superstitious - Jeff Beck Group Peaches en Regalia - Frank Zappa Knife Edge - ELP I've Seen All Good People - Yes One of These Days - Pink Floyd What is and What Should Never Be - Led Zeppelin Cross-Eyed Mary - Jethro Tull Journey From Mariabronn - Kansas All Along the Watchtower - Jimi Hendrix In the Dead of Night - UK Speed King - Deep Purple Watcher of the Skies - Genesis A Quick One While He's Away - The Who (Live from "Rolling Stones Rock & Roll Circus") In the Court of the Crimson King - King Crimson Locomotive Breath - Jethro Tull Fool's Overture - Supertramp Good Times, Bad Times - Led Zeppelin The Prophet - Yes Young Man Blues - The Who Spanish Castle Magic - Jimi Hendrix I Know What I Like - Genesis Hush - Deep Purple From the Beginning - ELP Carry On My Wayward Son - Kansas Roundabout - Yes Time - Pink Floyd Thick As a Brick - Jethro Tull (10 min. live version)
  19. R40, because R30 had non-Rush songs wasting space.
  20. The final Eastern Time Zone show of that magnitude...
  21. On the RTB tour, he'd say "Mr. Neil Peart, the Rhythm Method" going from Where's My Thing into the drum solo.
