That sounds like the Soundstage videos. They did videos for Closer to The Heart, A Farewell To Kings, Xanadu, Circumstances, The Trees and La Villa Strangiato and I believe those performances are different than what ended up on the actual albums if I recall correctly. These appeared on bootlegs over the years until all of them eventually got released commerically over the years on various DVDs. Yes, I think you're right... I had forgotten about those performances. If they're the ones you're talking about they were shot in front of a small studio audience at Seneca College in Toronto. The performance was broadcast on a 1977 Canadian TV special called "Rock Times Three." I remember seeing it on the air when I was 15. It featured Rush as the main attraction, plus, the Ian Thomas Band (Painted Ladies) and The Stampeders (Sweet City Woman.) All three bands were popluar Canadian acts at the time, but Rush was the only one headlining 10,000 - 15,000 seaters. The performance was "lip synched" but still cool to see. Rush did AFTK, Xanadu and Closer to the Heart. I didn't know that. I knew they were filmed at Seneca, but I didn't know it was that big of a deal. Thanks for sharing that. I thought that the Hemisheres video were filmed in a similar fashion. I remember paying like $35 for a poorly transferred VHS of the three a Farewell To Kings videos and the three Don Kirschner videos back in the day. I had mixed feelings about that.

I guess these finally made it up on you tube. The Innerview Rush series is simply the best Rush interview series ever. (despite the flaws like "founding member" and the "Pert" mispronunciations.) Very in depth, yet informal. Although this interview was conducted in June 1981, it was broadcast around the time or shortly after Exit...Stage Left was released. Among the best stuff you'll find from that period.

That was AMAZING. I'll get this new one eventually. Santa brought this for Christmas. I think I like it as much as Exit..Stage Right. I don't like the vocals on Subdivisions at all though. They should have kept it instrumental. Pretty amazing performances though. Didn't think Rothery's solo on Working Man worked (oops!) but the the more I listened to it the more it unfolded before me. I think's it's pretty cool now. Curious to know if he chose that song or it was assigned.

Anyone have the paperback of that Jon Collins book? I've got the first edition, but the second edition is said to have cleared up some errors. So, I'm on the lookout for that.

Well, there are the 3 songs from Don Kirschner's Rock Concert from 1974 (which I think all appear on the R30 DVD) then you have that Captiol Theater show from 1976 which is in collector circles. The only other thing is the second half of La Villa Stangiato which I think was also released on on of the DVDs. Oh...and I think a soundcheck from 1979 or 1980 is also on that R30 DVD as a bonus. There may a few other bit and pieces that I forgot, but the pickings are slim for that time period. They were on the road for so much time duirng that period that they likely didn't give it much thought.

The bonus tracks are a godsend, but they are such a tease. They did a great job with the Taurus pedals in the mix. It sounds so sweet! Would not surprise me if those tracks were once under consideration for Exit...Stage Left.

Not if the record company used the same guy who did the 2112 artwork. They should have used the guy who did the Rock And Roll comic from 1992.

Band picture from 1968?...wow, I was only 1 year old...no wonder I never heard of 'em....must have been real popular back then... They seemed to have some mild popularity that was very short lived. They only made one album: http://en.wikipedia....(Canadian_band) Thanks for posting that. I quite enjoyed it (I liked the solo too.) I think I'm going to track down the CD.

My theory is there won't be a 2014 Tour in spite of the insane amounts of cash that will be thrown their way to do it. Alex's pencil, though well-meaning, could be defective.

If you looking for anything written between 1985 and 2010 to be played, don't. It's not likely to happen. Just a feeling I have.... Good call on the pre-release Tom Sawyer. Not a very rare show, but at least it wasn't a very obvious choice and one that many Rush fans may not have heard. If he only brought four bootlegs with him one of them has to be one of the 1974 shows (Working Man with the By-Tor middle perhaps?) and probably a song from one of the Hemispheres shows, and maybe something from the Signals Tour. Something from the third Different Stages disc might not be a stretch either...

You would think that Presto would be relatively easy to find, but it isn't. When you do find them, they tend to be in great shape though.
