  1. Okay. :ebert: Be on the lookout....
  2. That's kind of what I figured. I just wanted some supporting evidence I guess. It just never really seemed to fit with the context of the album. It seems like it could have been inspired by Lord of the Rings since the design seemed to appear around that time. I wonder if Hugh Syme was involved or if it was just created for marketing after the fact....
  3. I just ordered them. I passed on the framed limited edition commemorative, however. I didn't really like the design so I ordered some extras to customize something in a frame myself.
  4. This was really the first tour (for me anyway) where they got over their midlife crisis (otherwise known by me as the Presto Tour). (Well I think they started to get over it with the Euro leg of the Roll the Bones Tour in 1992) The band really started to be reinspired on this tour. At least that's how it seemed to me. (The third US leg was the first time they started to dust off some ignored classics. The Analog Kid, The Trees and Vital Signs (with the guitar outro were huge surprises in the set at that point. I can't remember if this was the first or second tour where I knew the setlist going in.so there were no surprises. It's possible I found out through the Internet, but it was more likely that I had bootleg recordings of earlier shows as the bootleg industry (commercially) was peaking at this point so I listened to the show on the way to the show. Leave That Thing Alone and Xanadu/Prelude were undeniably highlights of that tour for me. It seemed like the entire arena was going to lift off during Xanadu in a way that had not happened before or since. To this day, it's probably my go to version. I'll admit it was kind of sad killing the bunnies off like that, but it was also an early indication that they weren't holding back their humor anymore (which I also consider to be a good thing.) I also thought the lighting on this tour was pretty cool also...better than the a few of the previous tours anyway.
  5. Oddly, except for New World Man (last played on the Vapor Trails tour) And Mission (Snakes and Arrows) those have all been covered over the last two tours "Mystic Rhythms" has not been covered either, and "Distant Early Warning" has not been played since the 2007 leg of the Snakes And Arrows tour, but I guess the guys must really like this compilation! Good catch! Missed that one.
  6. I'm been meaning to ask this for a while. Does anyone know if this was an original design for that tour? I didn't see it used in the program or any other memorabilia I've run across from that time period. http://u.rockthisthing.com/image/130/130/RUFKTEESPR036_000.jpg I never saw this until 2002 when I saw the design on the fanclub website and it seems to be around quite a bit since then. I've never run across it before then so I'm just wondering if it's an original or a retro.
  7. My fanpack CD is kind of like a hardbound book.
  8. ....and Roll the Bones. Presto had been talked about next, but I guess there was a change in plans. Roll The Bones was a 24k Gold CD, not an SACD. Do they have any other 24k Gold CD's? That's right. I had the company right (Audio Fidelity), but the format wrong. If we're still talking Rush, Mobile Fidelity has released 2112, Permanent Waves, Moving Pictures and Signals in addition to the Audio Fidelity releases. While the gold helps the music sound better, it's the different mixing and mastering that are improved also.
  9. If i'm not mistaken, that guy is Hugh Syme. I can't recall if it was Neil, Hugh Syme himself or both who have confirmed that. That's what I loved to do when I first got an album was study the cover and read the liner notes. Since I haven't got any Rush on vinyl, I haven't done much research on this stuff except Clockwork Angels and GUP. I wouldn't be surprised if that is Hugh in the background waving, sounds like something an artist would love to do. I just recently noticed a book I read had a Hugh Syme creation on it ..he's really talented. He's done some work with a bunch of bands after Rush, including Dream Theater. More often than not, I like his analog work rather than digital, but his work on Clockwork Angels is stunning.
  10. That's a shame that you didn't get the red discs...but to have an fully autographed copy by the Holy Triumvirate would trump my disappointment. Last tour, I had them sign my copy of Moving Pictures...for some reason, I chose not to send anything this time. I'd love to have a signed copy of Clockwork Angels, or at least the album flat. I never found one of those.
  11. I sure you can always find someone happy to pay for using ebay. Me? I'm just here for more cool pictures.
  12. Oddly, except for New World Man (last played on the Vapor Trails tour) And Mission (Snakes and Arrows) those have all been covered over the last two tours
  13. I got the litho i believe from a record store promotion/giveaway. I don't know why they signed in different pens but its a great piece. What would you say the dimensions are to that? Not the frame, but the litho itself. Sorry for the inane questions.
  14. Oldest wearable is Counterparts and then Vapor Trails after that to the present. Also have the Geddy solo album shirt, Oldest that I could wear if I didn't store them in a box unworn is Presto and forward. I doubt the Grace Under Pressure, Power Windows and Hold Your Fire still fit, but they are in the box with the others.

  16. Here, maybe? http://forums.steveh....157684/page-35 Wasn't it earlier in this very thread?
  17. I just got my CA version with all these numbers and words and the vinyl is black!!!!!!!! Bummer!!!! With that barcode and Cargo Records license? Very strange. If that's what was promised, you should take it back.

  19. I use this: http://www.google.co...ved=0CG4Q8wIwAQ It works very well. I have been able to take an old record that sounds poppy, and turn into a virtually clean sounding record. Of course it does nto get rid of scratches, so a record that appears scratched stays scratched. Also, I wanted to chime in on the love of vinyl and Rush. I discovered Rush going through my older brothers vinyl collection. I fell in love with the art and imagery on the gatefolds as well as the music in the grooves. I have since been a fanatical Rush fan. I have finally completed my collection of Rush on vinyl recently with a Brazilian copy of Counterparts. The only ones that I do not have on vinyl are the ones that were not pressed, which is Test For Echo and Different Stages. I have a Brazilian copy of Chronicles and a German pressing of Roll The Bones. The rest of which are US releases. I have the 45 of Caravan and BU2B, but I don't have many other 45s or 7 inch. I would have loved to have Different stages pressed, but very understandable that it wasn't due to the time it was released and how much it would have cost to make.
  20. What's the story behind that A Show of Hands Litho?
  21. Wow. Those pics make it really hit home. Sorry you have to part with these. Hopefully they will all go to good homes.
