  1. BOC are not everyone's cup of tea .... I grew with them which probably makes it easier to appreciate them. They have a bit of diversity in terms of the quality of some of their output which makes it tricky if you are diving in for the first time! For me personally there are a few albums i go back to time and time again - Blue Oyster Cult - fave tracks Transmaniacon MC, Then Came The Last Days of May, Stairway To The Stars, Cities On Fame With RnR. Great first album with some heavy stuff. Tyranny & Mutation - fave tracks Hot Rails To Hell, 7 Screaming Diz-Busters. Another solid hard rocking album. Secret Treaties - fave tracks all of it. My favourite of their albums. The double whammy of Flaming Telepaths and Astronomy is a killer album ending. One of my top albums of all time. Fire of Unknown Origin - fave tracks Burnin' For You, Sole Survivor and the epically wierd yet cool Joan Crawford. Their form had dipped at the end of the '70s but this and the previous release were a return to form. Imaginos - fave tracks Del Rio's Song, Astronomy (reworked), Blue Oyster Cult. The Imaginos concept was hinted at on Secret Treaties but given its head here. In my view the last 'great' BOC album and worth exploring.
  2. Favourite: Interstellar Overdrive - early space rock. Least: Pow R. Toc H. - sonic experiment gone wrong
  3. Happy birthday PJ ... keep rolling the bones!
  4. I always remember a gig in the Limelight Belfast ..... By this time Vinnie was on guitar, Andy was back on drums and Paul Raymond (God bless him) was still with us so it was around 2006/2007. Pete could hardly stand the whole show ..... Mogg was staring daggers at him most of the night ...... but by heck, he got the job done.
  5. It's weird..... even though Pete's lifestyle meant that this day should not really come as a big surprise, it cuts deep. The colours in the world of rock are a bit duller today.
  6. A legendary rock character who played for a legendary band. I was fortunate enough to have the privilege of seeing him perform live with UFO many times .... never a dull moment with Pete!! Another piece of my musical upbringing has gone. RIP Pete Way
  7. A bunch of years ago I transferred any VHS i wanted preserved on to DVD and packed the VCR into the attic (It's up there somewhere still!!) Nowadays we rarely even use DVD!
  8. "Favourite albums" is not on the list. ;) I think he meant the favorite albums from each year http://cdn-webimages.wimages.net/0510968f95f41a6613381ee4bfdd04ed5adec2-wm.jpg?v=3
  9. Did he put on a wig and change his name to EVH? Seriously though, he is pretty damn good!
  10. err ..... goose is just after saying it!! :LMAO:
  11. So, we seem to agree that different guitarists had different approaches, each of them made it work for them, every one of them was individual ....... so, who the hell did invent tapping????
