I was just out with some buddies at the bar, and the crowd was a little older and super low key; so we decided to blow up the jukebox with old country... We were mixing in classic rock, and I even got Working Man a spin, but for the most part it was stuff like Alan Jackson, Garth, Clint Black, George Strait and Reba... It ended up being kind of a big hit and I had a few strangers getting in on it. It turned a pretty mild night into something unexpected and satisfying. I know country isn't for everyone; but damn, that early 90s country was amazing. If /anyone thinks of an old relic they want to share, I thought it'd be cool to have a thread. Here's a few I heard tonight... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mvZ5E5_Uuik http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3zEo4JI11_w http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cB97u_-7nfQ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZQ1RHl2boHg

I love that movie. I thought it was hilarious.

Death or: The Act of Dying and How I Learned to Deal With It
KenJennings replied to Fordgalaxy's topic in Random Samples
I don't really know how anyone can come to such a conclusion. Sure, humanity has its "Tytler cycles" of struggle and prosperity, but the march has undeniably been forward toward enlightenment, productivity, compassion and decency. They really ought to make Steven Pinker required reading in school these days. -

I occasionally like to do MS Paint portraits of people, and I just made one of Mr. Lahey.

I feel like Reddit has really replaced most message boards. This is really the only message board I still frequent.

Jimmy is a more interesting character than Saul. I, for one, am dreading the eventual transformation.

2018 has been a very dry year for music IMO. The only original album I think I've even been bothered to purchase was YYNOT.

Patrick Stewart is boldly going where he has been before

yes as opposed to Nemesis. I fell asleep for about 15-20 minutes in the cinema watching Nemesis. Grade: F It's a lot like ST:V, a poor movie with some really good scenes. The scimitar battles are really outstanding by Trek standards. Here’s how I’d grade... ST 1: C- ST 2: A+ ST 3: C ST 4: B- ST 5: F ST 6: B+ ST 7: D+ ST 8: B ST 9: D ST 10: F Reboots...don’t care as I don’t think of them as Trek. One is ok, one is total shit, and the last is forgettable though not total garbage. but you rated the last one lower than the one that is total shit. He stopped at 10. The reboots are 11, 12 and 13. -
Just give Rhea Seahorn the Emmy. Damn, just crushed that performance.

The way I see it; I'm donating rather selfishly. I want to help assure we hear more from Tim and YYNOT. This guy is a hell of musician, and you can really hear the love come through in his music. Come on guys, throw him a little jingle.

I'm both excited and terrified about this announcement. On one hand, Picard is just about my favorite fictional character ever, and I'd love to see him again. On the other, I worry about the damage they could do to his legacy if they fail to execute. Please, please, please get him right. -

The difference being, Spacey has done worse than just words. -

I love scenes, but no. Metropolis is better than Cygnus though.

Images and Words is one of my all time favorite albums. Its last track, Learning to Live, was the first Dream Theater song I ever heard; and I was an instant fan.

Yeah. This list is garbage.

I used to hate Madrigal... but then I got my 40th anniversary AFTK, listened to it with older ears, and was really grabbed by it. 54 is probably a little high, but it's a good track.

Thanks everyone.

The only Rush album that comes close to being bad is Caress of Steel.

One of my favorite shows. Anson Mount is great. I'm hoping that with the house cleaning, and the fact that they started badly over budget, we get a few more smaller scale bottle shows that focus on character and story more than pizzazz and flash.

Victor vs. My Favorite Headache: Which one has the best song?
KenJennings replied to snowdogged's topic in Rush
My favorite track from Victor is Mr. X, but all in all, I'm not a huge fan of the album. My Favorite Headache, on the other hand, gets spun pretty regularly. Grace to Grace is probably the best from a great lineup of tracks.
