Looks like LFC will have a chance to rest some regulars and let some kids play; a job well done, that. -

Pink Floyd: Albums Elimination (Round 10)

I'm not just being an iconoclastic, contrary d**khead when I say DSOTM is (slightly) over-rated, so the eclipse has begun. -

Eichel to Vegas. Eventual bad news for the rest of the west. We'll see what he's like post-surgery. Buffalo, though, woof. -

It looks a bit desperate on Conte's part; first flirting with the Toon, then signing with Spurs; does this man have multiple alimonies to cover? Has Spurs' problem been tactics? Training ground work? Unless Conte can play, this may be a "next year" payoff. -
You forgot to mention penalties Oh, and let's not forget the penalties . . . but winning's the thing that papers over the other things, I suppose!

Great album. I got this one before any of the albums it covers except Moving Pictures, so it was my first intro to so much of their peak. My cassette version of this one was so frequently handled, the ink wore off -- I knew it was ESL only by the slightly tan/khaki tint of the plastic. And because all the others had print on them, I suppose. I'll go listen again. Happy Birthday, ESL!

Obviously, the management didn't want any stink to come out during the Cup run and even after. That's why McDonough hushed the incident and later had Aldrich resign quietly. Reading the testimonies, without going into details, I can understand how the brass might have thought the encounter was consensual, but this was still a coach/player sexual behavior. It had to be investigated immediately. The $2 million fine is a joke, $2 million subtracted from the team's cap for a few years, now you're talking. I do think the fine is just a slap on the wrist and Bowman will end up with a job somewhere else eventually :rage: His statement was a joke, my boss said he'd do something so I don't have to...total B.S. It also makes me think his firing of Q and McDonough might have been tainted by this since it wasn't public knowledge at the time of those dismissals. I get that it would have been bad to have this come out during the playoffs but it looks so selfish and tone deaf. I also don't think threats of physical force (i.e. baseball bat) are conducive to consent but in any event the fact Aldrich abused several people after this incident is bad in so many ways. I still don't know how this won't affect the fans and they lose some support. Very sad :sigh: It depends what Kyle Beach ( as we now know ) told Jim Gary. If he mentioned the baseball bat, that would introduce a threat of violence, which would be even more damning to McDonough and others. It's the explicit parts of the story that has me scratching my head as to what was really going on. There is the issue of the drugged drinks, but Kyle was able to leave Aldrich's apartment and get home without problems. But the bottom line is, the whole affair was handled horribly by people very far removed from being teenagers. Inexcusable. I had only sort of followed this story, but just read a lengthy write-up about it on The Ringer, and it's absolutely awful. Not just the management that swept the problems under the rug -- that sort of thing we've come to expect from Penn St to the USOC -- but from the poor guy's fellow players, who made him a target of jokes. And now several of them claim they didn't know -- how likely is that? -

Yes: Albums Elimination (Round 9)

I'm still clinging to 90125, but I'm willing to let Relayer run on out . . . -
Well, it had to be uploaded from somewhere. I'm surprised the files haven't just been posted elsewhere. The website is archived on the Wayback Machine, everything is still accessible there. It might be possible to extract the individual files since they’re embedded in there but idk. Yeah. I posted the link above, but will repost here: https://web.archive....shoddities.com/ Thanks for doing that; I'm another one who didn't even know it existed, and now I see myself getting little actual work done this weeked.

Equanimeous? Holy moly. He's got a brother, Amon-Ra St. Brown, who plays for Detroit. Equanimeous Tristan Imhotep John St. Brown Amon-Ra Julian Heru John St. Brown Osiris Adrian Amen-Ra John St. Brown Quite the family! Their father, John Brown, is a former Mr. Universe. Their mother is German. All three boys speak fluent English, French and German. But not ancient Egyptian, huh? Posers. I bet those kids never found those novelty bike license plates with their names on them at the local amusement park.

Pink Floyd: Albums Elimination (Round 6)
Nova Carmina replied to _hi_water._'s topic in Music Of The Spheres
That album is top 3, and yet some dogs still survive. I am hoping the Wall gets sent home at some point. If The Final Cut can be sent packing, The Wall can too. OBC Great album but not for the causal Floyd listener. I remember sh1tting my pants ( well, not really ) when Floyd opened their DSOTM show with the song Obscured By Clouds. Just one of those moments I'll never forget. Those few shows of the spring '73 tour are prized in my bootleg collection for exactly that reason! Yet another great experience I envy you for having. -

Well, something had to go, but damn. "Childhood's End," "When You're In," "Free Four" -- great songs. Even the dull ones are super moody and trippy. Still riding for Meddle, and still saying a tearful goodbye to Momentary Lapse. -
What Is the Connection Between Coin Flip and Foreseeable Future?
Nova Carmina replied to JohnRogers's topic in Random Samples
Yes,sure, but why would there be a screwdriver in a bread-basket, anyway? As for the threads, I guess I haven't read them, so I have no idea, but it's probably essential oils. You wouldn't like the coin flip one, math is involved, and the only math that's not anathema to the BFIBs is calculating the run differential that justifies throwing at hitters if one of their teammates tries to steal a base or bunt for a hit. I've reported your apostasy to Kid Marmol. -
The 2021-22 Football (Soccer) Thread

Given their leakiness, it's unlikely, but this match has nil-nil energy radiating from it for me. Both teams uptight and nervous, more worried about mistakes than great play. At least one outbreak of argy-bargy. Maybe a dodgy pen decides it. I thought you were weaning yourself off the Spurs? -
