Well, yes and no. Yes, just statistically, and no according to the eye test! Are the teams in the competitive (that is, non-Canadian!) divisions going to be too tired or too strong? I've read good things about Toronto's chances. Basically, I'm stalling because I have no idea. Probably not the Blues. But if they win, I never doubted them.

I am left to choose between the evil of two lessers. Let's do the DEW; time to roll out, Wheels. -
So you're saying exit velo isn't a good predictive stat? Huh, the Royals are like third in the league in hard hit balls and have lost eight in a row! Yeah, I wish the baseball people would shut up about this "data point." Hit it thirty-three miles an hour if you want, as long as you hit it where they ain't! That's all that matters! Bring back Alcides Escobar! Yeah, they're putting the whole geriatric band back together. If we could get Cueto from the Giants, and Hosmer from the Padres, it'll really start to look like The Expendables down at the K. Moooooooooooooose! Now Jorge Orta and Dane Iorg...that would be next level... Too soon? :) Maybe not Dane Iorg, but I bet you a shiny dime that George Brett could climb down from the luxury boxes and hit better than Jorge Soler right now. End the shift! Move the mound! More bunting (okay, I dunno about that one . . .)

RPG: The Dream Of The Blue Turtles vs. Sports
Nova Carmina replied to Entre_Perpetuo's topic in Music Of The Spheres
Sports has so many great pop songs I remember fondly -- it sounds like summer to me, so it gets my vote. Demographics is destiny! But! Sting was a better musician with more interesting ideas -- for a while, at least -- so he gets the artist vote. -

Those people aren't Rush fans This is emphatically false, baseless, groundless, meritless, unsound, faulty, unwarranted, and pure poppycock. Top three album for this Rush fan. The Kid Forever! -

Man, how long are these polls up? Twenty-four hours? It seems like we're cycling faster -- the whole widening gyre of the world spinning off into space! I'm afraid I'm going to log in tomorrow and we'll be on the second round for HYF. . . -

Even as a hardcore GUPer, I recognize "The Body Electric" is not a great song. It's got to go. Now, the Whitman poem, that's good stuff. -
