Hope that will be their next direction. I think the whole album is under-rated though it is far from perfect. Wilson's lyrics and themes over the last two albums appear to be alienating many. I would think that the lyrics wouldn't really affect that many people. I'd guess that most of their fans are musicians who put the music first. I don't really like FOABP's lyrics but that doesn't change my opinion of the album at all. Maybe its just me. I really like the lyrics on FoaBP mainly because I love the book on which they are based. I didn't know this. What book? Lunar Park by Bret Easton Ellis, the author of American Psycho. It's a pretty interesting read Brilliant book! And I don't lyrics a lot of attention, I just don't listen to them... maybe it's because english isn't my native language. I do read them when I'm at home with the album playing on the stereo. I loved Wilson's lyrics for the incident... The "after this, things will never be the same theme" is great. I prefer thematic concepts to the "story" ones...
  5. QUOTE (metaldad @ Dec 14 2011, 10:23 PM) I also think some people are going to Hate it judging by the response to the 2 new songs. If the whole album is as good as these two tracks, then it'll be a masterpiece for me

  7. Since the band is now with Roadrunner, do you guys think we can expect a big fancy box set? Opeth, Porcupine Tree and Dream Theater did it with their last albums, why not Rush?
  8. QUOTE (ReRushed @ Dec 9 2011, 07:00 AM) QUOTE (Kenneth @ Dec 8 2011, 11:49 PM) He really wasn't very bright. His heart was in the right place, pretty good music, but he was a hypocrite who put half his mind in half of his statements. He wasn't perfect, far from it. Personally, I'm not on board with a lot of what he said and did, he was basically a mouth piece. But, he never denied his hypocrisy or ran from it. I do admire that. Oh yeah, he was very bright. He was as quick a wit as there ever was in entertainment. I agree, he said he was really affacted by his mother leaving him when he was child, and he did the exact same thing to his son Julian. But as musician I have nothing bad to say about him (if you don't count the three albums of NOISE he did with Yoko) RIP John, Miss you.
  9. QUOTE (Gompers @ Dec 7 2011, 02:27 PM) QUOTE (treeduck @ Dec 6 2011, 10:08 PM) QUOTE (ColdFireYYZ @ Dec 6 2011, 07:40 PM) New interview http://www.stereoboard.com/content/view/169345/9 He's already writing for a new solo album!! QUOTE I have actually also started writing new solo music as well. This music is specifically written for Adam and Theo and Marco and co to play. That is not what I was doing on the record so much. On the record I wrote without particular musicians in mind most of the time but now I am really pleased with this line-up I have got to play my solo music and I think that having a solo band I want to write for means I am sort of in that pocket creatively at the moment and I think that it is a good place for me to be. Looks like Porcupine Tree is well and truly on the back burner... It does look that way. I am really not happy about this but oh well. I would like new PT before new SW solo. Maybe OSI will again recruit Gavin for a release. Blood was pretty good. He's already confirmed to play on the new OSI that'll come out next year... Starting to worry about PT's future...*

  17. Well last night was a "waking call" for me,I realised it was the last night I'd spend throwing up in some stranger's bathroom. It's just not worth it! I'm not really an alcooholique, but my fridays and saturdays night are a bit... wild... Wish me luck! ... oups!
  18. QUOTE Radiohead's TV performance of The King Of Limbs is now available to buy on DVD and BluRay. In case you didn't see it, the programme is a live studio performance of The King of Limbs. There are also performances of The Daily Mail and Staircase, which haven't been released yet. Supercollider has been added as a bonus track. Thanks to Steve Keros who took some nice pictures to go in the book. Orders are being taken now for the DVD & BluRay for Christmas Delivery. If a digital version is all you require, it will be on iTunes from the 19th December. The DVD & BluRay will be in the shops, but probably not until the end of January.
  19. QUOTE (Gompers @ Nov 14 2011, 02:51 AM) QUOTE (ColdFireYYZ @ Nov 13 2011, 07:35 PM) Mike posted on facebook that the Morse/Morse/Portnoy/LaRue/McPherson project is called "Flying Colors" and the album will be out in March. The name is almost as bad as Adrenaline Mob but hopefully the album will be good. Supposedly its going to be more pop rock orientated with some prog thrown in. With Christian lyrics? Gosh I didn't think about that I hope not! The lyrics are the worst thing about Transatlantic.
  20. ...No BRILLIANT STUFF!! Band with the highest musicianship of its time.
  21. Steven hangs out too much with Robert Fripp... I seriously hope they won't split... I'd be sad. I'm sure Steven thinks he's better off alone, since his solo carrer is going so well...
  22. Takes me back to the paris show... Thanks for posting those!
