  1. The Way The Wind Blows Packaged like a rebel or a hero Target mass appeal To make an audience feel He really means it
  2. Yep 1. Alex Lifeson 2. Eddie Van Halen 3. June Yamagishi (not really rock, but still one of my favorite guitarists)
  3. Scars is one of my favorite songs off of Presto, but the live version sounds terrible. Not the playing, the vocals. They had a clip in the background that Geddy couldn't keep in sync with, all the while every time you heard "Scars of pain" it would repeat "pain" in the background like "p-p-p-p-pain-pain-pain" and honestly it sounded more like a garbage hip-hop or rap song than a prog rock song. Sorry to break it to you, but I honestly hated it. I always thought that was just Geddy being g-g-g-g-goofy. (Sometimes there are technical problems with that stuff, but that is the way it was done live in this case.) Yeah it probably was but it just sounded terrible in my opinion.
  4. That was yesterday wasn't it. Damn! I knew I forgot something. Yep at the Sellersville Theater, but they will be going to Bethlehem in June I think. It's a long time from now but still it's worth seeing them http://www.lotuslandband.com/shows.html

  6. The Anarchist After the lyrics "Oh they tried to get me, oh they'll never forget me." Second I would have to say Chain Lightning off of Presto.
  7. My dad took me to see Lotus Land, the Rush cover band, in Sellersville, PA. They are awesome! If you live on the east coast you should check them out.
  8. Aside from the Roll the Bones album, I don't understand. And most people listen to that Rap or Hip-Hop crap, which doesn't take a genius to create and sounds like absolute garbage. Prog rock = best genre, and Rush created it!
  9. At least an announcement for a new Rush studio album if they aren't going to tour again.
  10. Saw this twice, with Rushcon 2016 and just my dad and I in our local theater. Both times I almost choked up. Very well put together, and it really digs up a lot of stuff we didn't know what was going on during the R40 tour.
  11. Turn the Page "It's not a matter of conscience, A search for probable cause"
  12. Well if we're talking about musically, the most powerful as in heavy Rush song has to be Time and Motion or Virtuality. If not then it has to be something off of the Snakes & Arrows album haha
  13. Marathon because I run a lot :P
  14. People can't really say much about Neil being arrogant, I mean read the article. His feet were hurting, his arms, his shoulders, etc. You have to remember that he's 63 years old and his drumming is fast, not easy and slow like other drummers. I don't mind them not touring again, but another studio album would be nice.
  15. Guitar pick I got from Alex exactly one year ago today at the Newark show. Alex himself didn't bring it out, but he told a rodee to bring it to me since I'm a kid. Now I have 2! (Other one I got while sitting front row at my first ever concert in Philly!) Also, sorry it's so big! Don't know how to make it smaller! http://imgur.com/R009jA2.jpg
  16. Ok, but are Bravest Face, How It Is, and Faithless even hard? Bravest Face and Faithless are and parts of How It Is are harder too. Ok. Then, I disagree. I don't believe those songs are hard. Maybe our definition of "hard" differs. Is a diamond hard? Is jell-o hard? Is grilled salmon hard? Not the start of Bravest Face, but Faithless is a pretty hard song. By hard I mean like heavier music. Basically the opposite of Rivendell.
  17. Ok, but are Bravest Face, How It Is, and Faithless even hard? Bravest Face and Faithless are and parts of How It Is are harder too.
  18. Caress of Steel is one of their most underrated works out of their career, Lamneth is a journey to me of a persons life, pure genius, I think I'm Going Bald is a goofy song with an amazing guitar solo, Necromancer is my favorite of it all, just pure awesomeness. I didn't really like Fountain of Lamneth too much, probably because I like harder rock more. I guess it depends on what type of rock you like better, softer rock or harder rock.
  19. My list: Rush: Before and After Fly By Night: Best I Can Caress of Steel: The Necromancer 2112: Lessons A Farewell To Kings: Cinderella Man Hemispheres: Circumstances Permanent Waves: Entre Nous Moving Pictures: Vital Signs Signals: Losing It Grace Under Pressure: Red Lenses Power Windows: Emotion Detector Hold Your Fire: Lock and Key Presto: War Paint Roll the Bones: *Don't really listen to this album* Counterparts: Everyday Glory Test For Echo: Virtuality Vapor Trails: Freeze Snakes and Arrows: Bravest Face Clockwork Angels: Wish Them Well
  20. The Necromancer is one of the greatest hard rock / metal / prog songs ever My psychotic love for Cygnus X1 is the only thing that makes me put the "one of" in there ... The Necromancer is an incredible piece of music and represents the dawn of the greatest era in music history very very well I didn't really appeal to The Necromancer too much...I prefer more heavier music like Vapor Trails, so that's why I put Caress of Steel so low. The Necromancer would have been better if they took the entire first part out, but they should've just split it into three songs instead of three parts.
  21. Wow...a lot of mixed opinions about Caress of Steel I notice! I didn't really like the album because I feel Fountain of Lamneth was way too long and they just made it so long to stretch the album. "I Think I'm Going Bald" was also a negative, because it didn't tell much of a story and I didn't really dig the beat. Bastille Day and Lakeside Park were good, and The Necromancer was alright, but the other two songs I don't like. Thoughts?
  22. I'm confused. Are you counting down to number one, or listing your favorite on top? Counting down to number one. Presto is definitely NOT my favorite! lol
  23. Title is pretty self-explanatory. What's your favorite Rush album? Also, you can rank every Rush album from 1-20 if you prefer (I do!) Sorry if this topic already exists, I looked it up and didn't see it so I decided to create it myself. *EDIT* Feedback isn't technically Rush, so include it if you like but the songs on that track were made by other artists. 19. Presto 18. Caress of Steel 17. Roll the Bones 16. Hold Your Fire 15. Rush 14. Fly By Night 13. Hemispheres 12. 2112 11. Signals 10. Counterparts 9. A Farewell to Kings 8. Moving Pictures 7. Power Windows 6. Grace Under Pressure 5. Permanent Waves 4. Test for Echo 3. Clockwork Angels 2. Snakes & Arrows 1. Vapor Trails
  24. I have to disagree... Caravan: B BU2B: A Clockwork Angels: C The Anarchist: B+ Carnies: C Halo Effect: B Seven Cities of Gold: B The Wreckers: A Headlong Flight: B BU2B2: D- Wish Them Well: C+ The Garden: B+ With my grading, Clockwork Angels has a 2.8 GPA.
