  1. I guess I don't know why people hate Superconductor so much? Honestly it's my favorite off of Presto. I like it.
  2. I would agree with this but I'd also put Hemispheres in there. I'd put it at #1. I would too. The bass on that album is really awesome. The tone is quite possibly his best. You just can't beat the growl of the Rick! I think we can blame the decline in the quality of their music to the fact that Geddy quit playing the Ric. ;) Actually I hated it when he switched to the Jazz full time even though I understand it now. It was his signature tone and it always sounded the best to my ears. Eh, I don't really see a decline in their music, minus the dip they took in the synth era (all my opinion of course). The last three albums have been among my favorites, and I really like Counterparts and Test for Echo. It was a joke, that's why I put the winky. :) Yeah sorry. I just love the modern era. :D

  8. Pat!! ARE WE BROTHERS????????? My God. I couldn't have said it better in one sentence. I "Ramble On" and you just nail it. Less is more. Signed, Led Zeppelin :notworthy: :notworthy: :hail: :hail: :hail: :hail: :hail: Geddy seriously nails it on every song. :dweez: :dweez: :dweez: :dweez: :dweez: Yeah there's some really imaginative and interesting basslines, and Alex is in full new romantic mode so Geddy has got free reign. Damn you are right on the money again. You know what is so funny when so called Rush fans rip "Tai Shan." I guess these so called Rush fans don't have ears. Just Alex's guitar part alone is amazing. Perhaps I am a snob being a drummer. My brain is wired for music first then the lyrics and singing. I lock into the bass and guitar. Fuckk it. It's me. I know my shit. It doesn't matter if humans don't agree with me. "Hold Your Fire" is a masterpiece. Yet so called Rush fans love to rave about the greatness of "Masturbator Fails." What the hell is "Masturbator Fails"? But yeah, hyper Geddy here is due to Lifeson floating around the atmosphere and painting the skies. It means Geddy is running and sometimes somersaulting through the prairies and valleys at whatever pace he likes. I'm sure this makes sense to someone. Maybe even me. Also, this is Rush's last great album IMHO. Angels was good but everything between the two has good and great moments but as a whole they're not albums that I think are great. A few I wouldn't even consider as being good. Hahahahaha! Sorry! That's just my sick sense of humor making fun of "VAPOR TRAILS!" But wait. Enough of my bad puns and jokes. You think "Hold Your Fire" is their last great record? I totally get it. That was also the last Mercury Records album so it makes sense. I am sure many think that Rush music sucks on the Atlantic Label. I love every album up to "Counterparts." I am finally appreciating "Test For Echo" more as the years go by because at least that record is melodic. It's the lyrics I hate. I mean "masturbate." I'm just going for the rhyme. I mean "GOING FOR THE ONE." Signed, YES!!! LOL Hold Your Fire isn't bad it's just... Vapor Trails is more my jam. ;) Hahaha! I get it! Hence the title is like the album noise produced on it. It is very dirty and very sonic and raw. I actually must confess that I loved the record when it came out but over the years it just annoys me. VT and HYF are totally opposite organic creatures from each other. I'm going for the synth sound instead of the chaos and non-melodic noodling. I would agree they are totally opposite! I listen to Hold Your Fire when I'm trying to sleep. Vapor Trails is a production mess but it's just grungy and raw and I love it.

  10. I'm not a big fan of Hold Your Fire, but definitely not because of Geddy's bass lines. I think they're among his best and the sound never bothered me personally.
  11. I know Tom Sawyer, Cygnus X-1 Book II: Hemispheres, most of Xanadu, and a lot of La Villa on guitar (I'm still learning them.) La Villa so far is the most technically challenging, but it's not too bad. Cygnus X-1 Book II: Hemispheres is actually surprisingly easy. That's just guitar though, I can comment on bass/drums/keyboards.
  12. Definitely one of their best. It blows Signals - Roll The Bones totally out of the water. This is REALLY unpopular but I like Counterparts on more, but I still love this album.
  13. For me, the only weak point in their career was part of the synth era and Roll The Bones. The modern era might just be my favorite.
  14. 100% agree with you there, it is a great song.
  15. I believe that Clockwork Angels is one of Rush's best, if not the best, albums. (Grammar nerd inquiry: Is it correct for "albums" to be plural here if it is in reference to one plural phrase and one singular phrase? This is the sort of thing I wonder about.) It's my personal favorite, very good indeed.
  16. Unpopular Opinion: Rush doesn't totally suck now
  17. Vapor Trails is better than Signals by far.
