  1. It's usually the song I hear in my head when I wake up. Or the style of the riff I hear in my head at any given time.
  2. I never saw that ONJ video before today. So much 80's cheese. It makes me nostalgic for that time.
  3. Looked at the setlist from last night's show. No Neil tribute? WTF? There's lots of Rush songs Phish could pull off.
  4. We live in a world where there are 2 versions of Yes, were 2 versions of Asia, and now 2 versions of Judas Priest. But no more Rush.
  5. Ripper held his own as Rob's replacement. Guy has a hell of a voice. Halford's shoes were hard to fill though, image wise. Fan expectations.
  6. I always figured that Tipton was the more technical of the 2 players - based on his solos, but KK had more feel - also based on his solos. As a guitarist KK held his own just fine with Glenn. Just watch Live Aid or any other vid. He's right there. Songwriting...maybe he doesn't have the ideas, maybe the band squashed his ideas. Who knows? But KK can PLAY. There's no doubt about that. I'm looking forward to the new material. Even if the band name is cringey.
  7. That mummy was the first to say : I want my MTV.
  8. I like to say that they both came up with the sound at about the same time. Blue Cheer's contribution to defining early metal is not to be overlooked.
  9. Lol!! Without: ELP Kansas Yes Metallica Iron Maiden Deep Purple Led Zeppelin Pink Floyd Black Sabbath Genesis The Who King Crimson TOOL The Beatles There would be no DT! I hear you. However, both Mike and John have said the same thing - No Rush, no DT.
  10. PS: I already know that MP40 is going to be not much better than MP30. How could it be with this fracking mismanagement and misunderstanding of the audience. I mean honetly, the Rush debacle starting with HEM40 is almost worse than Disney f***ing up the Star Wars sequels. But at least I can fly down to Florida and pretend to fly the Milllenium Falcon. But we'll never hear an official release of a full MP or PeW Rush show. I bet Ole bypasses ESL40 on purpose, on that point alone.
  11. f**k. There would be no DT without Rush. Say what you want about Mike, but he's as much a fan as any of us here.
  12. I still think this release $ucks. No cover songs. No full shows. Are you fracking kidding me? Does Ole not understand this fanbase and just how rabid and fracking loyal we are? Even after the band has ended? Second only to to the Grateful f***ing Dead. The f***ing deadheads, if they choose to, can buy almost every fracking soundboard available. Officially. Same for Phishheads... same for the Pearl Jam crowd. Metallica? Fracking locked in, just go to the website. HELLO!!!! For f***s sake.... secure the rights to every fracking concert and video and relase them. While the fanbase is still relatively young and has the disposable income to buy it!!!! I'm not getting any younger!!! Does Ole not see the market here? The desire for product from this epic fracking band? What part of the formula are they missng? Release the tapes you idiots!!! We'll pay for them!! Take my fracking money, please. Feldercarb!!!
  13. Knights upon dragons in a spiral array an attack so grand and complex time after time they assault the overlords castle the battlements withstand the effects
  14. Another thing I just thought of. I guess this will put to rest any hope of ever hearing a demo of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight. If it exists and was ever going to see the light of day, now would be the time.
  15. I subscribe to Amazon Music Unlimited - so I'm streaming the SOR from Manchester track right now. It sounds, not surprisingly, very much like ESL Minor differences in keyboard sound, and Geddy's articulation. That's neither a good nor a bad thing, just an observation. On Spotify too. Mix is MEH. A great deal of hiss. Cool document though. The playing is great. Yeah, the energy is undeniable. They were such a f***ing great band.

  17. On the AOL Rush board and TNMS in 93 and 94 folks were wondering why a tech savvy band like Rush wouldn't create a concert DVD. I think now we know why.
  18. If this ever happens, there will be a number of new songs. Maybe covers too. They will remember the past, but probably also will want to show they're moving on.
  19. A travesty. Did Hugh Syme design that piece of shit? A travesty. Did Hugh Syme design that piece of shit? "Design" that's being too kind! Someone please have a word with him... Rod, can you ring him up please and ask him WTF?
  20. >>Why can't RUSH's management and the record label acquire the rights from these television networks to utilize the above mentioned concert footage for these anniversary box sets? My opinion: I think Ole, and the ban's philosophy in general over the years has been to maximize profit with minimal investment. I'm afraid we'll see more of these 'less than they could have been' because of that philosophy. " Just put something out there, whoever buys it buys it. "
  21. yup top 5 easy. Mick Firepower was a good return to form. IDK if I'd put it in my top 5, but it does rank far above some of the other recent material, IMHO.
