  1. Fair enough Lerxt. I am partially proud that Rush can command such high prices. But sympathetic towards those that do not want to pay such a cost. TM had 5th row platinum for$875 at MSG that are no longer listed. The 2 NYC shows sold out quickest in 20 years which is cool. But tons of prime seats have been blocked off, and the promoter has not released side/rear seats like they did when Rush were drawing their biggest crowds. The best seats I ever had were not the 4th row center at TM, but 2nd row side at RTB , slightly behind Neil. Awesome unconstructed close view of the band, from slightly above the stage, as opposed to the floor, where a lot of the view is blocked, even for tall fans like me. These awesome seats have not been sold in many years. Black curtained, too bad. Since there is such a large demand, it's curious they are being held back now.
  2. Fixed. I dunno. The only other acts that are commanding and getting these kind of prices are the Stones and U2. AC/DC, Van Halen, Fleetwood Mac, the Eagles, Aerosmith, are all trying to get those prices and falling short. In civilization all these bands are charging a lot for their act. AC/DC sold out a stadium tour in Europe in about a half hour. Its not just Rush. And there's a whole lot of other people other than the band making dough here. All these shows are expensive. I bet if I check AC/DC they would not be getting what Rush is getting. U2 and Who prime seats are much less. Of the 500 Rush tix avail on TM resale in Jan, 450 still avail. Promoters have blocked off tons of prime seats for Rush and not released the side/rear seats like they did back in the easy sellout days of yesteryear. (prime seats , resale market) The Who seats are not much less, check again. The whining is unfounded. The Who has a similar gold silver package thingy right up front. The average seats in the arenas for these bands are roughly the same. Its a good chunk of change and I feel sorry for teenage rock fans. I feel the same way about major sports events as well. But again, the idea that Rush is somehow gouging or special in their prices is nonsense. Dude, if you are categorizing me with that verb, you are not paying attention. As I commented many times on This Thread, I am gladly going to see Rush twice, but am sympathetic to those that believe prices are out of hand. Sympathy is not whining. And you can get Who platinum seats at their next NYC area show fifth row at Nassau for $214.47. Pay $215 and you can get some change back.Try doing that for either NYC area Rush show, you are looking at a thousand bucks 5th row. Even the show at the Pru, outside the city, 12th row platinum, $600. .

  4. The ladies must be lined up at the door! And he has the remote, smart cat.
  5. I cited Andea's son since it was an act against a defenseless child. Both Jesse and Walt deserve credit for killing Gale, but that was also to delay Gus from killing them. He always had self preservation reasons.
  6. certainly not ethical, but he had his justification. Made him compelling. So many other stories where characters were evil cuz they just were. Wrong isn't bad, its applauded in the real world every day.
  7. Appreciate is a strange word to use. I find nothing to "appreciate" the character of Walter White. I appreciate Bryan Cranston's performance, but not the character. He's a horrible human being. Jimmy/Saul is a different case. He seems to struggle with his decisions in ways Walter White never did. I appreciate that Walter was a good person that got turned by a fatal illness and a cut throat culture that did not adequately compensate nor insure teachers. How different it is where I live!! What is compelling about Walter White is how he gradually turned and usually had a significant reason for each evil act. .edit I simply do no understand this position when it comes to rationalizing that Walter White was some what justified in doing what he did. Push away any responsibility on Walter White's part! He destroyed his family and people's lives for a justified reason! Walter is a compelling character since he has a justification for most of his evil deeds. For example, one of the worst things he did, poisoning Andrea's son was necessary because he needed Jesse back on his side to help kill Gus, who was going to kill Walt and his family. If Jesse doesn't see Gus as a threat, Walt is either dead or in Jail, and any $ at that time for his kids and wife would have been confiscated. Not a good guy like he was before his terminal illness, but compelling. edit... He has justification in his circumstance. The viewers may rightly choose to not see it as justified

  9. I am but a rookie here , I would check the date on that post?
  10. I vote Rose Bowl. 100,000 Rush fans saying goodbye. That would be amazing.
  11. Congrats on the great score CJW. I thought I had a good deal, $300 for 11th row center. Resale prices for that start at triple right now. If they decide to tour again, as long as I am healthy and have the $, I will go. If prices are like they are now, I will gripe. Gripe and go! Interesting story on how you became a fan - How long did you know about Rush before buying those first albums? How long were you a rock fan before hearing those first Rush songs on the radio? Only two questions allowed.
  12. Happy April 1! To play mostly repeats from last 10 years is silly, especially considering the old school drum set. Nice catch above.
  13. With the risk of sounding like a broken record, HYF, oops... R41 in NYC prime seats are DOUBLE Who and DOUBLE U2 ticket prices...
  14. Semi finals vs Bonham- so far Neil in the lead, but it's gonna be close- http://ultimateclassicrock.com/john-bonham-neil-peart-march-drum-madness/
  15. “He has reached a level of douchebaggery that will live on for generations, passed down by windtalkers and the like.”
  16. I was set to comment 'fans ranking on Cygnus Book II.' But Mr Narps, that's painful...quick recovery.
  17. I got sunshine in my stomach Like I just rocked my baby to sleep I got chills running down my spine Like I just listened to In The Cage
  18. Eek, as far as title tracks go, I'd rate Hemispheres 2112x better than T4E. Too much vertigo, and reminds me of OJ trial. Its still Rush tho. Interesting us fans have such varying opinions.
  19. Radio City...its the only non-gigantic venue I have had the fortune to see them. I recall one of the shows I was center stage in first balcony row 2, and the lasers and lights came right at us. Awesome! Cant get that in an arena!
  20. it 'd be nice if he didn't make touring out to be so brutal. Its what brought fame and fortune to Rush. Also kept him in touch with so many of his lifelong friends n family around the continent over the decades, which is challenging for so many of us tied to a local job. 75 days on the road over a nearly thousand day period ain't too shabby. His writing is awesome! Not to mention that drumming.
  21. So much Garden, didn't we get CA fill last tour? that's the closer some want to hear? Its a fine song, but they have so much more 1- Tom Sawyer, traditional set closer 2- Spirit of Radio, their best crowd energy / participation song E- In the mood/In the end, tip of the hat to the old days, vocals easier than Circumstances
  22. Tough checking the like this with such a strong use of the r word ;-) But I get it. In NY, prime tix are double U2 and The Who. Double. Rush could have opened up more side/rear seats like they did in their prime, but so far, the promoter is being protected. On RTB, I had side second row, looking straight at Neil, better than 4th row center. The last few tours, those seats were not even available for sale... The R41 machine after mediocre attendance on CA tour. No Orchestra VS?
  23. well... not fla... not alex... lol. And I just read that thread last week! As long as they stick to Miami / West Palm area, they should be fine! Just booked our third FL vaca in 10 mos, guess I got it on my mind!
  24. Be careful, WC. The fan base here is 100% all in for R41. House of Blues would be cool, but I think their future would be closer to a Dead type reunion. A couple of large venue shows, NY and/or LA, baseball or soccer stadium. Then it's off to Florida for our beloved band.
