Geddy talks about his new Fender USA Geddy Lee Jazz Bass
HemiBeers replied to Hemispheres4Echo's topic in Rush
That seems to be typical since the dawning of the digital age. The pawn brokers go online to check out prices so finding great deals is almost impossible anymore. Yes, Pawn Shops are more savvy. But you can still occassionally find some desparation deals on Craigslist. At least private buyers are easier to negotiate with. -

Geddy's #1 and Al's ES355...both from my hometown Kalamazoo. From what I've seen in local pawn shops these days...nothing with quality of Ged's #1. Mostly junk. -
hey both in E...it could work.

Let's predict Rush's next excuse for "possibly" ending future tours
HemiBeers replied to GeminiRising79's topic in Rush
They just can't tolerate any more Lorraine polls. -
They need extra time to get used to the groupies and hookers.

For those of you that think Geddy's voice has seen better days, you better hope it never comes to this. Scott Weiland high as hell absolute trainwreck http://www.inquisitr.com/2058114/scott-weiland-vasoline-video/ Geddy sounds like Pavarotii compared to that mess.

I'll be sure to update everyone when I can confirm that Neil will play the drums.
-
Sources from the Tulsa venue report that Tom Sawyer will be played.

You know what's fun to do in Tulsa? Get the F out of town as fast as possible It's obvious that baggage claim in Tulsa is a huge hassle. Tulsa probably includes complimentary loading of all 4 bags from the plane into their limo.

"Yesterday, Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson were spotted at the Tulsa International Airport" The phrase 'Tulsa International Airport' cracks me up. A couple of flights per day to Canada and they're 'international'. That airport is mostly used for transcontinental flights running low on gas.

Call all the posh hotels near the arena and ask it Harry Satchel has checked in. I'm sure you'll start hearing setlist spoilers from Tulsa...hard to keep it under wraps in an arena.
-
If I remember correctly, there was a pole on the stage right in front of Neil. That could have been a tragic accident waiting to happen.
-
Is that like this place? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aujF4bwXb5g

Based on past interviews, Rutsey was over it when he left Rush and quite playing drums soon after. I highly doubt he would have made an effort to see a live performance.
-
I assume you're talking the St. Catherine's (?) school performance? If so, their performance of working man was kind of uneven...they kept speeding up until they were in hyperdrive. I assume you can see that on youtube or somewhere, so I don't see the need to release a CD. Just a cash grab IMO

The official R40 tour sponsor is... soup.

wow i never realized there was lyrics in lamneth. Up to now, I just ignored them...words, words, words, blah, blah, blah. Now where's that bag of Doritoes...this thread is giving me the munchies.

now everyone in the front rows are going to try doing that ad nauseum. But I'll give you credit that it's a great picture.

Question for the musicians on the board
HemiBeers replied to CaressMySteel's topic in On The Lighted Stage
That's your opinion. Some people like them. oh i kind of like them myself. i just don't see them as part of this tour. -
Personally, as a guitar player, singing is the last thing I pay attention to. Singers are grossly overrated, with some exceptions (ok I'll consider Ged as an exception just to avoid complaints). You can only do so much with a voice that makes sense within context of a song. Whereas, with an instrument, the sky's the limit. I never give grief about Ged's aging voice. Hell, we put up with the chipmunks on helium comments about it in the 70s. Personally I'm good if he really cuts back his singing and they do more instrumentals, or, (blasphemy), bring in another younger singer to cover the more difficult vocals and maybe some backing guitar/keyboards. That would allow Ged to free himself up and just jam on bass.

Question for the musicians on the board
HemiBeers replied to CaressMySteel's topic in On The Lighted Stage
yeah that could work. The real question is why they would play 2 kind of obscure, meh, songs on this tour. -
Where did you dig that one up from? 'dig' as in exhume? or the phrase? which has been used before...not originally from me. but it works so well.
