Are you sure you were listening to Permanent Waves? By the time of Permanent Waves the Ayn Rand references were long gone. While I disagree with these opinions regarding Permanent Waves on the whole, this particular statement bothered me a little. I've been noticing a lot of people around here citing problems with certain music sounding "dated". It just keeps me wondering, what the hell is the problem with that? Isn't everything somewhat "dated" for whatever period it was made in? You never hear this in regards to Mozart, and yet I'm sure it applies there as well. And yet, when people hear that something sounds "dated" from within the last 50 years, it's a negative thing. So...it's a crap thing to capture a moment in time? Somebody enlighten me here please... (**Sorry, totally veered off there. Side rant complete :eyeroll: .)

I guess I'm a weirdo, but I could never rank Rush, or other artist's albums for that matter, numerically. I just get cravings to listen to one thing over others for periods of time. But, I like it all kind of equally for various reasons (unless it's total shite ;)).

I think that's the same version of 2112 that I have on vinyl. Mine has a tis bit more wear on the cover (a little fading) but the record is pristine. Picked mine up at a local record store for $35. Was that a good or bad deal?

I only hope you are getting paid more than Syrinx. You seem to be carrying the load here.... I get paid with the knowledge that the glory of 2112 is hailed often. Many heads of state had consorts by their side to at least symbolize the strength of 2 ;).
