  7. He does have awesome hair- gush, gush, it looks really thick here . . . http://i425.photobucket.com/albums/pp338/plantfan40/Screen%20Shot%202016-06-04%20at%2012.30.35%20AM.png What is that bass on the far right? Your question made me do some research! The photo is from around 1978. It turns out the bass is a very old Fender Precision bass, used to record Rush's first album, but then given a makeover with the body cut into a teardrop shape, the blue paint, and an extra pickup added. After that, it was used on the tours for A Farewell to Kings, Hemispheres, and Permanent Waves. Apparently the head stock was reshaped as well- photo and more details in this article- http://enigmastation...is-a-precision/ https://en.wikipedia.../Rush_equipment Thanks for the info!

  9. It's about time someone said this! The 90's are so often dismissed as bland but there are some great Rush songs from the decade.
  10. IMO the only time Xanadu transitioned into something else without being offesive was Xanapheres on the Counterparts Tour.
  11. Are you talking about the very last chord Alex plays when you say "dat chord"? Thanks for posting that, Brucey. I love that song, and Alex's guitar from about the 4:00 mark to the end really gets me. Geddy's vocals on that are gorgeous. This might be considered weird for me to say but I'm going to...he sounds sexy on this song. I can't think of any other Rush songs in which he sounds sexy. These vocals are pretty good, but the Retrosepctive III version's vocals are exceptional. That's good, too, but I think I like the Snakes and Arrows version better. Maybe because that performance is "my" Rush, a performance from a tour that I saw, or maybe because I like that little bit of grit in Geddy's voice. Either way, this isn't a song that I've ever really appreciated before, but now I'm starting to! :D I've always loved Ghost of a Chance! The "I don't believe in destiny" section is so mystical. The chord at the end of the live version is orgasmic too.

  14. WE paid for those basses. :) Technically doesn't that mean that those basses are our basses? :)
  15. Plus, do a Bottrill remix of CA record. He could work wonders with that great record. Hate to say it, but CA probably won't ever get a remix. The band is too proud of it and not everyone thinks it has horrible production.
  16. I'd like to gush about the R40 Tour. How did those three guys manage to pull of a tour that amazing? The setlist, the lightshow, Geddy somehow singing those 70's songs. Sure, Alex was a bit sloppy on the tour but the man does have arthritis. Another thing that made the tour so great was the reverse chronological stage and all the different instruments they used. How does Geddy afford all those basses? If that was there last tour, what a way to go out. Edit: I forgot one last thing: "f*ck you, puppet!"
