Atomic Rooster - How do you like them? Are you a fan?
toymaker replied to treeduck's topic in Music Of The Spheres
Checking out the first album right now. Pretty cool so far. Pretty odd album cover. What do you call a bird like that...? It doesn't look like a rooster, even an atomic one.- 18 replies

Geddy Lee - 2019 Beautiful Book of Bass Interview
toymaker replied to RushFanForever's topic in Rush
 Sounds like another case of Gear Acquisition Syndrome! I've been pretty good - I talked myself out of the last two potential purchases. So, aside from the bass I accidentally bought on eBay a few months ago, I've been a good boy. -
Geddy Lee - 2019 Beautiful Book of Bass Interview

I'd like to write Lee to tell him, "thank you for saying that sometimes you just have to buy a bass because it looks good"... -
New upcoming interview with Alex Lifeson - Jan 30, 2021

I really appreciate seeing the video also. It was great to listen to when I couldn't sleep last night, and I am very happy to hear that there is a bunch of guitar music we might get a chance to hear at some point. -

Supertramp vs. Pink Floyd 70s classics!
toymaker replied to Entre_Perpetuo's topic in Music Of The Spheres
Super tough choices - in a couple of cases, it's "just barely" - I love Crime of the Century, but Dark Side has to take that one. And Fool's Overture is in my top ten songs of all time, but Animals is pretty much a joy straight through. -
I hope you had a good birthday!

Happy birthday! Hope it's a good one in spite of...stuff.

The Band on the Run / Limelight mashup is kind of interesting . . . although the parts were cut up and re-edited quite a bit I just watched a weirdly cool Rush/Barry White mashup, too . . .

Works well for the slow, quieter bit, but kind of falls apart when it picks up.

Here again is my Rush lyric Christmas poem - I posted this originally 5 or 6 years ago. If you can think of any lines to add, go for it! I hope everyone has as good a holiday as possible! Did I have a dream? Crimson misty memory At the fireside Through the endless winter storm Endless rooftops from my window Silver, blue and frozen silence A deep Sahara of snow Frozen in an everlasting view I see red A pleasant-faced man His beard is white, his face is lined Bearing a gift beyond price The things I’ve always been denied, Precious gifts beyond compare Time stands still Feelings run high As excitement shivers up and down my spine Then all at once Fly by night away from here To blaze across the heavens like a brilliant shooting star

If at exactly 9:12 pm we all played started playing 2112 at high volume, do you think the whole world would hear it?

The Heaviest, most METAL Rush setlist, what would it look like?

Forgot Circumstances and Garden Road. Witch Hunt ain't a bad choice either... -

That species ages really slow. He's already like 50 and he's still a kid. Didn't Yoda make it to like 900? He's still baby Yoda for a while yet. But it's nice to get a name and some background on the character now. Yeah, there's no telling what "aging equivalents" are, but if Yoda lived to be c. 900, then if we imagine a 90-year-old human, Grogu would be about five -- so not a baby, but still a lot of work. It would explain why Mando isn't changing diapers, though. Please, dear Force, no CGI-Leia; just hire somebody else, or make it Bridger, etc. What about getting Carrie's daughter, Billie Lourd to play Leia? I mean it would make sense if they were going that route. Wasn't she in the last 3 films? Yeah, just a small role where she played some leuteniant working with Leah. I know her from Scream Queens and the last three seasons of American Horror Story. Solid actress who can do both serious and funny pretty well. Lourd technically already has played a young Leia Organa. It was in Rise of Skywalker - CGI’d version of Carrie Fisher’s likeness That actor from Stranger Things looks a bit like Carrie Fisher, I think - "11"? Edit - just discovered I'm not the only one who thinks so
