Saw NBC News' story on this last night. Kudos to the hotel for reporting the incident and the police for following up. Beeyotch better have a good lawyer, looks like she may need one.

The games are simulcast on Amazon here, so it`s Leeds on the TV and Brighton on the laptop, West Ham on the phone  *Outstanding own goal from West Brom, really lovely stuff. Outstanding! NBC Sports Network is very good broadcasting the PL on this side of the pond. We'll have Man U/Wolves at 3 (2000 GMT) and Tottneham/Fulham tommorow. Between that and all the college bowl games, I'm a happy camper! :pizza:

Yep, and as good as the Fins have been, that beatdown the Bills put on Scam and the Pats last night has me concerned. Just so many variables, including the weather. Hoping Flores can continue to coach on the spur of the moment and get it right, could put himself in line for Coach of the Year.Jeez, Rickey's (my local watering hole in Hollywood) is going to be a loony bin Sunday. I may need to be there by Noon to get a seat at the bar!

Classic Album Elimination 3 (Round 1)
pjbear05 replied to _hi_water._'s topic in Music Of The Spheres
I think it`s all the rock music that precedes your personal glory years; all the music you grow up with remains current and hip forever :codger: Da fuq? "The music that preceded my 'glory' years", my early teens, was the garbage AM radio played until the Brit Invasion bands, Motown, and other music then classified as "R & B", which Bo Diddley once aptly defined; "R & B don't stand for nothin' but ripoff and bullshit", because they didn't want the youth of America "infected" with that "nigra" music. That changed little until "free form" or so called "underground radio" stations in the late 60's. For me the "underground"- primarily Detroit FM stations WABX, WKNR, and WXYZ/WRIF-were the "classic" rock which "remains with me forever". This music and these bands that are non-existent on the airwaves nowadays, replaced by the dogshit played on current so-called "classic rock stations". Thank God for CD's and MP 3 players. I never listen to radio (and our youths were obviously a few years apart, no slight intended) but there were very few non-mainstream stations for options when I was a teen. I just heard a few bands from the Top 40, and took it from there. I was joking that everything thinks that their own music is classic and mostly what follows is garbage. BWAHAHA, no slight taken! And as goes for what mostly follows also goes for what proceeds, my era included. My parents listened to "crooners" and "middle of the road" in the late 50's. AM radio was all across the format map back then contemporary vocals to religious to "Country and Western" to "cleaned up" rock and roll such as Pat Boone's redo of "Tutti Frutti", issued to steer American youth from the "jungle music" of adepts such as the Right Reverend Richard Penniman, bka Little Richard. Folks were scared to death of "black" music back then. Being born and raised in Detroit, I learned different, but I'm no angel. I vent some particularly harsh invective towards Caucasian vocalists doing Motown covers (yeah, this means you, Michael Philp Jagger!) and concur with opinion alleged by Greg Allman that "rap is three quarters of crap". "Can't help about the ...." -

Meanwhile, there will be 10-win teams in the AFC who won't make the playoffs. Somebody ought to write a letter. Couldn't agree more. It's a joke. The alternative is worse. Take playoff games away from division champions, and you might as well eliminate the divisions completely. That would severely reduce the motivation for teams to play hard all year long. ^^^This, times 100. Otherwise the NFL becomes as fkt up as the CFP. The other alternative I have in mind would be crazier, but I'm gonna float it anyway. That's right folks it's time for another round of "NFL Fantasy Realignment" . 4 divisions, 8 teams each: West: Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, Arizona, Las Vegas, Denver, Dallas. Central: Kansas City, Minnesota, Green Bay, Chicago, Indianapolis, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Detroit. Southeast: Houston, New Orleans, Tampa, Miami, Jacksonville, Atlanta, Tennessee, Carolina. Northeast: NYG, NYJ, Buffalo, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, New England, Baltimore, Washington D.C. Division Champs and top four non division champs in playoffs. As that fine business entrepreneur Violet Jones said, "It's as simple as that" .

At first I figured "yeah, that is 'nigh impossible' ". So what I did was went to the "Anthems" page and reviewed the lyrics of all the songs, playing the songs in my mind. While I did so, the polar opposite themes were "wow, that was a good tune" and "meh, not so much" along with "yeah, all in all that was a good album" and "Jesus K Reist, that album was not all that good". The final theme in my mind was, "While some albums have great individual songs, the album they are in, as an entire body of work, is shit". And in conclusion, there's a lot of "shit" out there. Judging thusly, my three "keepers" are: 2112 Moving Pictures Power Windows But what does this old coot know? ~Crack open a beer, fire up a joint, love your pets, and RUSH On!~ PJ.

Food Halls, Courts, and Similar Venues.

Was this it? https://khoffner.us/ Yeah it was. But Rauf, the owner and brewmaster hooked up with this place and hasn't missed a step. -
A former brewpub I frequented closed down its stand alone operation to become part of the Sistrunk Marketplace, a food hall outside of downtown Ft. Lauderdale. I decided to check it out. They do online reservations to insure social distancing, which was no big deal. Arrived and did valet parking, which posted a link to my phone for when I was ready to leave. Walked in and the guy at the front desk handled the reservation and explained things; walk up and order at one of the places, or sit down somewhere and order via phone QR code. Sat down at the brewpub bar, ordered a beer, and looked around. A guy on solo guitar/drum machine was performing Seger/Marley/Eagles/etc. Brought up the codes and ordered a beer brat sandwich with kraut, which arrived super quick and was well done. The beers were great as I expected. Rauf, who runs the brewpub is a top flight brewer, and his beer runs the gamut of styles. All in all a fine afternoon, for sure! http://sistrunkmarketplace.com

The Christmas marathons are in full swing. WTBS and TNT are well into their 24 hour runs of A Christmas Story and the recurring doses of "I triple dog dare ya", Scut Farkas, The Bumpus Hounds, and "you'll shoot your eye out." Also, FX is alternating showings of FX's A Christmas Carol, with Guy Pearce as Scrooge, with the 1951 version of A Christmas Carol with Alastair Sim as the Christmas curmudgeon, imho the best version of the lot.

I would sacrifice most Rush tunes for a hardcore live version of Vital Signs. Rocking out to that in West Palm Beach during the Time Machine Tour was the highlight of my live Rush experiences.
