  1. I have a few: My shoe ornament, which is a carousel of shoes and heels displayed. It spins too My parents have this handblown maroon glass ornament that is a near perfect circle. We always hung it in a special spot so it wouldn't get broken. My bicycle ornament. My sister's was green, mine yellow. We always had to hang them on opposite sides of the tree.
  2. I can do white or multi as long as they are not blinking. Ornament wise, last year we had all red, gold, silver and black ball ornaments. Not really going for a theme though. It was our first big tree for my husband and I living together and I purchased all these ornament packages on clearance the year before. This year, we are starting to add more random, personalized ornaments that mean something to us. It takes a long time to build ones ornament collection!
  3. QUOTE (1 of the 7 @ Nov 5 2011, 10:17 PM) Most 80's New Wave/synth-rock and -pop, including all named above Roxette Some country 90's-era techno Various 90's pop like Sixpence None The Richer, that kinda stuff The Four Seasons The Bee Gees (yes, I like guys with high voices) ABBA Enya/Clannad I went to see K.C. and the Sunshine Band this summer, that probably counts These are just some of what I can think of off the top of my head... ...Then there are two (who I'm well over by now) that I'm far too embarrassed to admit I liked. I'll only own up if you can guess them. The only clue I'll give is that one once opened for the other at Saratoga in the early 90's when she was just becoming popular. Signed, Groove Is In The/Closer To The/Listen To Your Cheatin' Heart of Glass Think I know who you are talking about, and if yes, I too am guilt as charged lol.
  4. I kinda LOL'd when they showed the nose-bleed audience shot right at the beginning of Freewill: They all immediately stood up like "HEYYY, I know this song!!!"
  5. Many libraries now designate quiet, semi-quiet and talking areas.
  6. QUOTE (JohnnyBlaze @ Nov 9 2011, 10:51 PM) Geddy's no porker but he isn't exactly skinny either. cameras add 10lbs
  7. QUOTE (treeduck @ Nov 8 2011, 07:39 PM) QUOTE (iluvgeddy05 @ Nov 8 2011, 07:34 PM) Actually, TRF needs an app! I don't understand all that app shite, I don't even own a walkie talkie never mind a fuckiing cell phone... iPad here.
  8. Hate to say it,but I noticed the cd sound wasn't as great as the blu ray, which is making me salivate.
  9. QUOTE (treeduck @ Nov 8 2011, 07:27 PM) QUOTE (iluvgeddy05 @ Nov 8 2011, 07:19 PM) I gotta agree with goobs here a bit. I'm itching for new rush because frankly, I'm tired of the "live cd/DVD after every tour" model. I loved S&A but Caravan and bu2b have yet to really grow on me. In any event, new rush is better than nothing so I will be happy in any event. Wow you're back again are you?? And no announcement or anything...just a sudden "oh I'm a bit meh about the whole new RUSH album dynamic, and Lord and Baby Jesus I'm too busy painting my toenails sparkly pink to even think about Geddy's nude nutsack these days never mind post on TRF and talk dirty to METALDAD in PMs every night, pfft he's such a sex pest..." OMG haha. I know, I need to lurk around here more, and be more positive when I do make a comeback. Just wondering what you all thought of the Cleveland stuff. Not a whole lot apparently

  11. QUOTE (1 of the 7 @ Oct 27 2011, 09:47 PM) About 20-25 people in Auburn, NY, which isn't bad for outside of a small city (Syracuse). The fans were VERY intense - a bunch of guys were reminiscing back to the 70's, quoting song lyrics, and talking about having gone to Lakeside Park. Lots of audience participation during the movie - clapping, shouts of "awesome!", nodding and singing along. It was loud and felt like a real concert (with better seats)! I even brought my 72-year-old mom along - she said "they're obviously all really talented, but what makes them special is how they play off each other". Indeed! Met up with some fellow Rushgirls from here on the forum - I've been to a pre-show meetup before, but never here in my home town, so it was cool in that respect. I see others' showings had a DVD menu before the movie started. We thought that was kinda funny Everyone kept saying they can't wait for the next concert! If I needed a reminder of why I'd give a lot to see these guys (which I hardly do), last night was a huge one! OOH thanks for posting the pic of us!
  12. I had a great time seeing this in the theater last night. It felt like being there, almost. Kinda awkward when at the end of the song, the DVD crowd cheered and the theater audience tried to do the same, but it was just... us haha. Well worth my $10. Yes, I could have saved it and put it towards buying the DVD but it was fun last night. Also got to meet 1 of the 7, one of our own TRFers
  13. I am going! Can't do dinner but will see you there...
  14. I dont remember that CTTH clip at the end. Lmaof remember ppl: this was an edited version. All the songs and clips should be on the dvd
  15. Saw LIFESON colorado plates (darin?) i shoulda been there!
  16. They ripped their songs a new one that night!! So wish the picture was better but i hope its just bc its on vh1
  17. QUOTE (pedro2112 @ Sep 11 2011, 11:37 PM) QUOTE (iluvgeddy05 @ Sep 8 2011, 05:51 AM) I don't remember the last time I visited TRF - hard to believe I used to live on here! Actually, it was less than 30 days before this post. Am I missing something? Compared to how much i used to be on here... Lol
  18. QUOTE (1 of the 7 @ Sep 8 2011, 09:29 PM) Glad to hear you're weathering the flooding okay and liking the new job! I've been thinking those of us in the area should get together for a DVD watching party when it comes out...that would be fun. Have a great fall! -C Awesome idea! Wdateould pm everyone closer to the date.
  19. I don't remember the last time I visited TRF - hard to believe I used to live on here! I started a new job as a librarian at Cornell University, back working in the field that I got my masters in. It's been wonderful so far but leaves little time for TRF and other things - which, lets face it, is a good thing! I'm home this morning since there is some major flooding in central/southern NYS so I thought I would pop in, say hello and wish that everyone is doing well!
  20. QUOTE (circumstantial tree @ May 19 2011, 01:50 PM) QUOTE (briremo @ May 19 2011, 09:51 AM) A Legue of Their Own - AT the end when they open the museum I mentioned this movie earlier and yes, this is a touching scene, particularly when Dotty sees the picture of Jimmy Dugan (coach) and only then finds out he had died. Also, finding out a few others that had died over the years. And of course when Dottie and her sister share an embrace since they had been sibling rivals throughout the course of the movie. And the photo being taken of the "original Peaches" which slowly morphed into an old photo of them when they were starting the team. Looking back at my posts, I must find something heartfelt in dysfunctional families whose relationships are fixed by whatever plot the movie has them in. Also when the military guy comes in right before the game to have Jimmy deliver the message to Betty - that she just lost her husband in the war.
