  1. Love Lorraine Bracco in Goodfellas. She's perfect. Next best was Tony Soprano's psychologist in The Sopranos.
  2. I can appreciate his art for what it is, but it doesn't mean I want it on my wall.
  3. I think part of the problem is that good guitarists are a dime a dozen. It’s much less common to rise to the top of your field playing bass or drums. Alex has always played exactly what song the song needs but he’s not flashy in a obvious sort of way. He is a very emotive player which fits in perfectly with Neil’s clockwork timing and Geddys creative bass lines.
  4. It was beyond amazing Moon. I totally agree with you. As you know I'm a HUGE Y&T guy. Dave Meniketti. But yes Neal is a Legend too. I think it's great that you mentioned Neal's solo work. "Late Nite" is absolutely amazing!! Love that record!!! It’s a favorite of mine as well.
  5. I was not a big fan of this album when it came out. It seemed like a watered down version of Signals, which was kind of sad. It's grown on me over the years though and I like it now.
  6. The Breakfast Club. I realized I'd never seen the entire thing so I sat down and watched it the other night. Great movie.
  7. If you read up on them it was all for show. I don't know if they were actually even married IRL. But I have to admit I had a couple of their albums back in the 70's.
  8. That's an awesome experience, something you'll always remember. So cool. :)
  9. I've only seen Elton John once and that was on the Rock of the Westies tour, so a lonnng time ago. Wouldn't mind seeing him again though before he retires.
  10. Wild at Heart. Nicolas Cage and Laura Dern at their quirky best.
  11. I'm trying to stock up on Rush shows, lol. We are getting rid of cable soon and I'm not sure what we will get to replace it. We just put an old TV in our bedroom with a digital HDTV antenna and it gets more over the air channels than we realized. Makes the cutting the cable decision somewhat easier. I have a digital antenna as well but I'm lucky to be able to get one or two channels, and they're usually the shopping network or something in Spanish.
  12. If I was Geddy I'd be giving Neil some nasty looks and telling him to slow down a bit. you mean John-------^ right? Neil would not appreciate nasty looks since he would have been in the audience or backstage at this point. I'm not so sure that Al is the one doing the speeding up. I remember hearing a Tom Sawyer bootleg where they were speeding up and then hearing 'slow down!' and eventually getting back to the normal tempo. No I was talking about the video with Neil. Me too. He said he wasn't even aware of Rush at that point, but probably would have enjoyed the hell out of that show. I think we’re talking about two different videos. Maybe. You and I are two of the lucky few who have been able to talk with Neil about videos. ;) ;)
  13. Wow! He’s really good. I’m totally impressed. His voice is really good too. Not a lot of people can sing young Geddy and do it justice.
  14. The Straight Story. Sweet movie.
  15. They should have retired from touring when Geddys voice started going. That didn’t help. I’m thrilled I got to see them the past few tours but they hadn’t been up to their previous high standard.

  17. OK, legitimate argument. The 80s did not exist when this album was created so there’s no way it could belong to a decade where it wasn’t created. In hindsight it’s easy to look back and say it blended in well with the music created after it, but that just means all music is derivative. Always has been, always will be.
  18. Explanation: ALL of them don’t want to do it anymore. So, they’re done. Or I guess, more correct is: Not all of them want to do it anymore. So, they’re done. Yes, BUT....... Everyone knows that if Neil called the other two tomorrow and said, "Hey, I'm getting bored just sitting around. Let's do something," then an album or tour could be back on the table. That simply. So....given that 64/65 is still plenty young for rock-and-roll, I still find it hard to believe that the last chapter has been written for Rush. Believe it.
  19. I would seriously doubt it. I could see Neil using drum charts for complicated songs but that’s it.
