This sort of thing happens to me way too frequently with GnR's "Sweet Child of Mine." o_O I avoid that song like the plague, but got-d*mn do I wake up with that crappy tune way too often. It makes me want to commit a bit of the ol' ultraviolence upon my own skull. (Now cranking up Deep Purple's "In Rock" to ensure it doesn't get stuck now.)

Weird! I was seriously planning on starting a thread on this topic tonight. All day -- when I wasn't playing music, that is -- I had Genesis' "Fountain of Salmacis" stuck in my head. But it kept morphing into Deep Purple! There's an ascending keyboard line, I think, in "Salmacis" that resembles one in Purple's "Speed King." The shift would occur, without fail, when I wasn't really paying close attention to the music in my head. Bugged the crap out of me.

I'm firmly in the "not diggin' it" camp. But I'm still looking forward to the release date anyway; there are ten other tunes on there, after all. Maybe the single will grow on me over time.

Plugging that sentence into Google tells me it's "Fireflies" by Owl City.

I've always dug Ricochet. I think I'll have to play it next...
