  1. I didn't vote because my choice would be 1. no Signals medley 2. For them to not play Subdivisions at all 3. To play Digital Man, and Analog Kid instead 4. Not to play Losing it, cause it will make me and I will probably cry
  2. QUOTE (Snow-Dog2112 @ May 1 2012, 03:43 PM) Thought this one back in fourth grade about the first lyrics of TSOR "Begin the day with a friendly voice, a (i would just murmor the lyrics) Plays that song that so elusive, and the magic music makes your mullet move" mullet move ....snort...
  3. QUOTE (EmotionDetector @ May 1 2012, 09:37 AM) QUOTE (Animate @ May 1 2012, 10:33 AM) To the detractors: HF is AN epic- the storyline however is not explicitly given in the lyrics. Instead, the bombastic music and refrain should invoke the epic nature of your own life experiences. If you are having difficulty filling in the blanks with regards to personal epic experiences, that is a different problem all together and not the fault of the song itself. Sorry...but that doesn't make much sense to me. Why can't everyone that state that it's a kick ass song that rocks? Why does it HAVE to be given the definition of an 'Epic'?? If a song is not an 'Epic', does it then suck? I don't get it. They written a shit-load of songs over their careers that are far from epics, and yet, kick so much ass. Freewill, Tom Sawyer, Limelight, etc. Headlong Flight is just another spoke on the wheel...it rocks, and that's all that matters! I guess my attempt at humor was an epic fail
  4. QUOTE (nobodys hero @ Mar 20 2012, 10:37 AM) I have to go with the 70's as this was when I first fell in love with Ged. Of course my continues to grow and I still think he's a hottie. But literally standing next to him in the early days when he played, and have him smile and look into my eyes hooked me! 70's for me too, plz. tnx. I would love to hear more details about this encounter, if you don't mind sharing!
  5. Funny all the not wanting to hear any more MP. It is the one record that I have never listened to entirely on digital format, the only one not on my ipod or car hard drive. I even fast forward through most of it on the TM tour dvd. Guess that would be another thread though- "which albums are ones that you loved at one time but can't listen to any more because you already listened to them too many times" sort of thing.
  6. I dislike all live versions of 2112 (except ATWAS) and wish they stopped playing it live 30 years ago I hope the CA tour has only songs from VT, Feedback, S&A, and CA Cygnus X-1 is better than Hemispheres Narration in the science fiction and fantasy themed Rush songs only makes them cooler.
  7. Afterimage I feel the way you LOOK 2112 We are the priests of the temple of Ceres e.g. the goddess of cereal
  8. You all are dead to me now. (just kidding!) (well, except for the posters that down played Alex- you are still dead)

  10. I tried like you did, right at 12, got the "no tickets available" notice each time. Bought 2 VIP passes. Houston! Yay Me! Now to hide the credit card bill as long as possible from guess-who, good thing he is out of town
  11. It's a sexy song. But not as sexy as Xanadu.
  12. QUOTE (CrossedSignals @ Apr 29 2012, 10:14 PM) QUOTE (losingit2k @ Apr 29 2012, 08:50 PM) However, crappy beginning! Aw, c'mon, the beginning is so cool! BAP. Bu bu BAP bu bu BAP. Bu bu BAP bu bu BAP. Bow BOOWW! Bow BOW Bow! . . . . Syncopated funky weird catchy electro-rock goodness. They are good notes, they just belong with some other song.
  13. QUOTE (losingit2k @ Apr 29 2012, 08:50 PM) The Body Electric is a bitter Sweet song. Good Song overall, However, crappy beginning! Awesome Lead section. Agree about the intro. Not the drumming but the 15 or so notes that seem a little out of place with the intense storyline and the bombastic ending. One of my favorite songs though.

    Just an FYI.

I am really interested in seeing these- can you fix the link?
  15. QUOTE (MJH @ Apr 26 2012, 08:11 AM) In the year 2112 RUSH halograms will be performing,in concert...my hallogram will still not be able to get good seats. Hologram Rush 2112 concert in the year 2112 is such a frikingly awesome mind-blowing concept! Frankly, it just might come true!
  16. I voted "yes" because of their additive talents. 1 great instrumentalist 2 compelling and intelligent lyrics 3 Their talent for sonic exploration while maintaining such a strong musical identity 4. live show performance ability Who else could beat them in all of these categories? Sure, there are better artists then Rush in any one category, or for or two albums. But to do it all, and to keep so many people interested in them for so many years?
  17. QUOTE (JohnnyBlaze @ Apr 23 2012, 11:35 PM) Well, I've been a fan for 30 years so it's probably close to a quarter of a billion dollars. Back in '07 I flew from Osaka to Toronto for 2 Rush gigs...the flight alone was probably 1100-1200 bucks with the money I spent on beer being probably 10 times that. Thanks, I just snorted coffee through my nose!
  18. QUOTE (ghostworks @ Apr 22 2012, 04:50 PM) QUOTE (Animate @ Apr 20 2012, 11:07 AM) QUOTE (metaldad @ Apr 20 2012, 11:03 AM) Does anyone like a good Peanut Butter sandwich once and awhile ? Uh, peanut butter? That was Elvis. Whom even I can't make a connection to Rush to (that is, beyond the obvious starting of R&R and influencing Rush's influences) http://i.imgur.com/X3FFq.gif Whoa, that is uncanny! Alex and Elvis, separated at birth!
  19. Xanadu 2112 The Necromancer The Fountain of Lamneth Cygnus X-1 Hemispheres Jacob's Ladder The Camera Eye La Villa By-Tor and the Snow Dog Natural Science
  20. As fine a trio of stoner, high school dropouts as there ever was. And look where it got them. Me, on the other hand, clean with a PhD and stuck inside working on a brilliant day.
