  1. I didn't know that's what the book/movie was about. I've been interested in Hitlers Eastern Front ever since a German lady I worked with many years ago told me about her father never returning from fighting the Russians.
  2. Who the hell would steal a book....all you have to do is wait for the movie.
  3. I agree. Not only is it my favorite live album, but it is my FAVORITE RUSH album of all of them. Sure the sound is kinda muddy, and it's got overdubs (don't ask me where they did that) but it shows RUSH at their youthful peak, full of energy and vigor. I love it!!!
  4. But the saddest, and quite possibly worst event to occur on this day. Nicki Minaj was born in '82. :boo hiss:
  5. Slim Pickens passed on this day 30 years ago. Know there are lots of fans of him on TRF as well. May they all Rest in Peace.
  6. Rush has no original songs. They are all remakes of Journey songs.
  7. You know...that makes me think. I'n pretty sure i cried as a kid when Thurman Munson died. I was at his last game, at Comiskey Park (my uncle had season tickets). Here's some footage of his last AB. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jxH0sfaL7g0 Forgot about this one....This was the one...the one I was really upset about. I didn't cry but being 12 years old in CT and playing catcher on my little league team when the Yankees were the kings of MLB, he was who I wanted to be. People say "I remember exactly where I was when Kennedy was killed". Well I remember exactly where I was when I found out Munson died....This was the one.
  8. I'd love to see a lot of that old stuff, but I don't think it's gonna happen.
  9. Ever cried over a celeb death? Hell no. That's not to say I don't feel something when you learn of their passing. I'd have to say that the recent death of Ray Manzarek kind of struck me. He was one of the first musicians who had a real impact on me in my early teens. But the first celebs death that I can remember where I actually felt something was Roy Orbison. I don't why but I remember feeling something. maybe mild sadness or disappointment.
  10. I agree with Storm Shadow and Rushian King. I agree that the show has gone nowhere. What kills me most is the death of Herschel. It was absolutely unnecessary and, to me, it seems like it was done for shock factor and nothing more. Kinda like the writers saying, "Boy is this gonna freak the viewers out!!!" Hershel was probably the best character on the show. There was a lot to the guy and they could have made more of him. They should have killed off Michonne. With the exception of her crap with The Gov, she has been worthless. I'm still gonna watch, and still hope for the best, and I'm interested to see what's gonna happen, but something better happen soon.
  11. I'm beginning to think I'm not cut out for these kinds of shows....I can't get no satisfaction. I liked The Gov as a good guy...I liked the way the actor portrayed him...I liked his character as Brian... But as soon as he goes bad again, I think the actor does a lousy job and the character is unbelievable. Michonne...never liked her and hate how they put her in all these samurai poses whenever she gets that sword in her hands. 'WHERE'S CARL???!!!"...Thought we were over that. Nobody ever knows where that kid is. He's what...'bout 14? Probably in the bathroom peeking through the keyhole. Herschel...Great character...Once again the writers do a wonderful job of getting rid of a good character with depth, but it took them almost three seasons to get rid of Lori. Daryl...Guess he can hook up with little blondie and not have to worry about dad nosing into their business....Yeah Daryl...Lay that pipe!!!! It'll be nice to see a change of scenery as well. The gray paint and bars motive of their last home was really wearing on me. I wonder if The Gov's latest chick is going to get back with her sister again and maybe they can hook up with Carol and form a lesbo squad to hunt down Rick and Co. It'll be interesting to see what happens.
  12. Cool...Looks like you could just walk across to the other side.
  13. Most of the lyrics are pretty bad, some music is too....just a bad time for RUSH.
  14. Being a long time fan I can saw that many times I've drifted from RUSH, but I always go back. I really don't listen to them very much at all now-a-days and haven't for years. The seed was plated, the roots have taken and the trees has grown and will always be there. Sometimes you just have to explore the rest of the forest.
  15. I agree...and I find myself rooting for him. I'd rather watch more episodes about him than anybody else. It looked as if he was a changed man for a second there, and he was obviously trying to flee his past, but I guess old habits die hard. Do you think it was him who killed all those people in that tent camp with all the wire around it? Rooting for a manipulative psychopath? Interesting.. Yeah....welllll...Maybe I'm just rooting for a more interesting character, THE most interesting character on the show. There's a lot going on with him, much more than with any other character...with the exception of Carol and when she got REALLY good...they dumped her. WTF???!!!
  16. I can honestly say that ANY bands live version always piques my interest more than a studio version...there are a few bands that I don't even listen to their studio albums, and only their live output (Gov't Mule, Dave Matthews, & Umphree's McGee come to mind right off the bat) I agree. There is always something more exciting about the live stuff. And GM, DMB, and UM kick ass live. When I used to have Sirius, I'd listen to the whatever that Jam station was called where all they played was bands that jammed out live and the three mentioned always kicked ass!!!
  17. I agree...and I find myself rooting for him. I'd rather watch more episodes about him than anybody else. 18. I can't believe I'm gonna say this....But maybe I am too. At least I liked the last episode (except for Fankenstein although he did nail that other dead chick...should we call her the Bride of Frankenstein?) That was pretty damn funny. And I'm getting tired of Jessica Lange. I don't think she is playing this part very well, and at this point I don't care about The Axeman. The story still isn't very good, but maybe it'll get better.
  19. You asked what it was about. If you are afraid of the answers you're going to get, don't ask the question. And seriously....our opinions ruined this song for you?! Grow a set dude. I was being jovial! I couldn't care less about peoples opinions on this particular song, I already know T4E is a less than popular Rush album! And I have a nice set actually. Often it hurts to carry them around so I load them on a trolly and push them around town! Passersby compliment my beautiful baby, coz I drew some eyes on them and wrapped them in a blanket. Aww... I don't believe you...lets see some pics.
  20. I agree. It's kind of a shame for all of us mega-fans that they have to play "the hits" all the time but there are just too few of us to fill every arena in a tour. It's more than likely that a good chunk of the audience at a show has seen Rush at least once, but the majority have not and that's why you get "lame crowds who just stand around while we go crazy for every song". They gotta play the hits for the unfamiliar who shelled out their hard earned cash for the show just like us...who don't want to ALWAYS hear the hits. I've never seen The Rolling Stones live but if I did, I wanna hear the hits. I wouldn't care how much Mick and Keith wanted to puke 'cuz they've played Satisfaction, Brown Sugar, and Sympathy For The Devil a million times. That's what I'm paying to see...so play it. The same goes for a Rush show. I guess it's just the curse of being long time fans. We got to see Cut To The Chase, Driven, Jacobs Ladder and the dozens of other deep cuts we'd like to see now on past tours. Oh... for all you young whipper snappers out there who didn't get to see them on previous tours...HAHA...Being old does have at least one advantage. Again, the idea that they just play hits it's off base. Check the set lists and see how many different songs get played. Not saying JUST...only asking WHY AGAIN.
  21. Love YYZ By-Tor La Villa The outro on Chemistry Subdivisions Passage To Bangkok Between The Wheels The Camera Eye This list could very easily be quite long.
