  1. Why don't you all just quit worrying and catch the Dave Matthews Band when they roll through YOUR city THIS summer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol
  2. Seriously doubt that Rush will have an announced farewell tour/show.. Most of that bullshit is a money grab. (While I love the Eagles to death, they are a perfect example.) Seems like they'll take one of their breaks, but never return. Kinda like dying in your sleep. Lol.
  3. Welcome to TRF, a place full of the most die-hard (and immensely cynical) Rush fans!
  4. I listened to a really long versions of #41 and Seek Up by the Dave Matthews Band (duh) today. That was cool.
  5. Hey y'all.. I'm currently in my freshman year at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, and it is already time to figure out my housing arrangement for next year. This really doesn't seem like a serious issue - unless you're me and you prefer living alone! I've pretty much decided I do not want to live in the dorms next year. There are two reasons: I'd like a little more freedom and I'm trying to cut down on costs for this upcoming year. It costs about $9k a year for room and board here (around $1,000 a month). Now, my roommate is an awesome guy, and we really get along. I have also made a few really close friends throughout my first semester that I might consider rooming with. But at the end of the day, I always revert back to the idea of living alone. I'm very independent, and I'd like to explore being on my own for the first time in my life. Obviously, this decision may end up being a bit pricier. However, I have found a place in downtown Lincoln (which is very close to campus) that I have really fallen in love with. It's a 350 sq. ft studio apartment (perfect size) with a rent of $490 a month, which I consider to be affordable. It is called Century House. The only bills I would end up paying are electric and cable, which would probably come out to around $75-$100 a month (I'm guessing). As long as I'm not an idiot on the food front, I would be able to keep that cost down. And depending on my situation, I could also pull in a little income to help pay for it all without it becoming too much of a hassle. I would have a car, but I would not be driving a whole lot based on how close to campus I'd be, which would allow me to avoid paying for parking on campus. All in all, I feel like it would end up being cheaper than living in a dorm again. The only problem I'm facing is the idea of living with someone, and how much cheaper it could be. Splitting bills and costs in half could go a long way in making college cost efficient. I've been talking with my dad a lot on the subject, and he seems all for me pursuing this studio in downtown, given that it's truly cost-efficient. Should I forget my own desires and just suck it up and live with someone again? I wouldn't have that bad of a time, I don't think. I guess all I'm trying to say is that I'm really conflicted and need to discuss it with people who have probably been - or currently are - in my situation. Sorry for the rant, guys. :) What do y'all think?
  6. If it says "Ignore", my primal instinct is to do the exact opposite. Here I am.
  7. I feel like a lot of people appreciated the material and thought after they heard it that it was damn good. While the songs were actually going on though, most of the crowd was pretty unfamiliar, and couldn't really get into it much.
  8. I was going off of my experience with the Time Machine Tour, and that was showed in full with consistent sound.. Lol
  9. This is a total joke and I don't complain often
  10. The Body Electric on this album is PRICELESS. Sounds flawless.

  13. Not yet. Need to wait about 20 Years and hope they come up with an album as good as CA. But lets face it, is there any album in their current catalog that is as good as CA? Difficult to say.. Music and arrangement wise, I don't think so. The concept album is tricky, and they pulled it off perfectly. One of the things that makes CA as fantastic as it is are the lyrics. But they're different from the Dave writing style and also difficult to compare. However, if we're going on musicianship, I think some stuff in their albums can compare. Both bands have immense amounts of musicianship. I don't see DMB lasting another 20 years. But hey, i'm sure that in 1995, people said the exact same for Rush. The fact that they're still touring today given their age and the circumstances in which they've survived (Neil's tragedy) is incredible. Dave singing "Crash Into Me" or "Rapunzel" at age 65 would be a little creepy. ;)
  14. I'll be at the Lincoln, NE showing. I'll be astounded if anyone else from TRF will be there.
  15. Not to come off as combative, but this was their first show in the American Airlines Center, and the sound was very, very quiet. It was almost like the size of the venue was too big, and the sound just escaped. As for the tourplan, nobody on here except maybe FOH Lights knows if that was the case :)
  16. [enter FoS post about how the DMB setlists are awesome and DMB is awesome in general] No but seriously. The DMB sets are created the day of the show. Always random. Not one song is played every night. For instance, Crash Into Me (biggest hit) was only played at 7 of the 49 shows in 2013. Belly Belly Nice, a single from their most recent album, made an appearance at 29 of the 49 shows. Now, as a diehard Rush fan that has seen them 9 times, I'd love to see some random tunes broken out and be surprised at every single show I attend. I'm also sure a lot of the setlist bitching would die down on this forum is Tom Sawyer was only played once every seven shows. I understand different shows would go to different people, but I think that's an advantage rather than a disadvantage. The casual fan wouldn't care too much. Hell, throw in TSOR, Red Barchetta, Tom Sawyer, and Freewill every night, but mix up the other 20 or so songs from night to night. I really don't think it's too much to ask for. DMB throws in random songs like JTR, that haven't even appeared on a studio album. Imagine if Rush pulled out Countdown once or twice a tour. Neurotica. Alien Shore. Jacob's Ladder. Emotion Detector. Best I Can. I mean, some of their material just flat out doesn't work with Ged getting older, but I think they could find a significant amount of material to choose from. War Paint? Red Tide? AFTK? There are endless possibilities with a random set. You can experiment. With them in their sixties now, it's becoming more and more difficult. But it is something that is not impossible, and could definitely have been part of the 70's, 80's, and 90's.
  17. He did veto it, but Alex thanked him afterwards because he didn't want to add it either. Really? When? Not sure.. It was in Roadshow. I remember that much.
